Friday Date Night

My friend over at the journey back, has started a new meme. She wants us to give her dating ideas, ways to romance your husband back. I forgot to post yesterday, so I am posting a day late. My lovebug and I love to woo one another, but we do not have alot of money. But, that does not matter. There are so many things you can do, that require no money, or very little money. This week, I am going to share our movie date night. We rent two DVD'S, a comedy, and a romance. I pop some popcorn, we have boxes of candy that we get at Walmart(just like the boxes at the movies, except much cheaper) We snuggle close, and enjoy the movies. After the first movie, we have intermission. Which, at our house, that means it is time for a major pillow fight. Then, we watch the other movie, and snuggle, snuggle, snuggle. It is so much fun, and so worth it Make date night a weekly event at your home, you will be glad you did.

Thankful Thursday- Change

Welcome to Thankful Thursday, sorry mine is running late today. Lynn chose the theme of change this week, which is actually perfect for me. There are several changes I am praying for right now in my life. One is concerning my church home, lovebug and I are currently searching for a new home. We need to be where we are both being fed what we need, where the Lord is the head of the church. Where brothers, and sisters reach out in fellowship to one another, where you are treated like family, not strangers. My soul is yearning for fellowship, actually I am lonely, and crying out for reaching hearts and hands of fellowship. Another change I am praying for, is my health. I am in much prayer for improved health. I need a reviving, and refreshing. I am experincing so much nausea, pain, severe headaches, total sickness. I lay in the bed with face masks over my eyes to block out the light, my eyes hurt all the time, they are getting weaker. May God have His way, and will in all of this. I give Him all the glory, for what may come of all of this. I am not complaining, and I am not scared. I just want to be well, if that is His will. I want to be at 100%, so I can do His Kingdom work diligently. In His will, doing His work, is where I will forever choose to be, whether I am sick, or well. God's sweet blessings to you all.

Book Review: Kabul 24

The story of the capture and imprisonment of eight Western aid workers in Afghanistan by the Taliban.
For three months in 2001, the desperate plight of aid workers kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan, captured the attention of the world. With the growing specter of U.S. retaliation for 9/11, the Taliban and Osama bin Laden attempted to use their Western hostages as bargaining tools. What the captors did not count on, was coming face-to-face with the enduring faith, of people who knew their only hope was in Christ.
Kabul 24 revisits their grueling interrogations, their sham trials before the Taliban Supreme Court, their peril during the bombing of Kabul, and the crushing sense, that the world had abandoned them. It reveals not only the eight Westerners’ 105 days in captivity, but also the gauntlet endured by their 16 Muslim coworkers who, after being taken to the notorious Pulicharki Prison, were beaten and tortured, having been accused by the Taliban of converting to Christianity. This book will renew your hope. I highly reccommend it.

Watch The Rain

One rainy afternoon, I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick.

Suddenly, my daughter, Aspen, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. "Dad, I'm thinking of something."

This announcement, usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear.

"What are you thinking?" I asked.

"The rain! ;" she began, "is like sin, and the windshield wipers, are like God wiping our sins away."

After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond. "That's really good, Aspen.."
Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take this revelation? So I asked... "Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you?"

Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer: "We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us."

I will always remember this, whenever I turn my wipers on.

In order to see the Rainbow, you must first endure some Rain.

Growing Up Mondays- Drowning Men

1 Cor 3:8 "The man who plants, and the man who waters, have one purpose, and each will be rewarded, according to his own labor."

Walking through the forest, a seasoned hiker came upon a broad, slowly moving river. He stopped to gaze over the waters, appreciating the beauty, when suddenly he heard a faint cry coming from upstream. Looking in the direction of the noise, he saw an obviously drowning man, floundering in the river, and drifting slowly toward him.

The hiker was stunned momentarily, but he sprang into action when he saw the man disappear beneath the waters. Throwing off all of his cumbersome gear, he dove into the river, and swam like a madman, toward the spot where the man went under.

Upon reaching the spot, he plunged below the surface, and frantically
hauled up the helpless man. He then, laboriously towed the victim to shore.
Heaving the lifeless body up on the riverbank, the hiker attempted to revive
the man, who eventually spit up water, and began to breathe.

Relieved, the hiker paused to catch his breath. But no sooner had he done so, than he heard another voice out on the water. Another drowning person!

Once again he swam out and pulled the person to shore, a little more slowly this time. As the hiker-turned lifeguard, revived the second victim, he heard yet another cry for help.

All day long the hiker worked, rescuing one person after another, as they came drifting down the river. There seemed to be no end of drowning victims, and the hiker didn't think he could keep it up.
Just when he was about to collapse from exhaustion, he spotted another man walking rapidly beside the river, headed upstream. "Hey mister!" he cried out. "Please help me! These poor people are drowning!" Amazingly, the man kept walking upstream. The astonished hiker called out again. Without even acknowledging the cry, the man kept going. Indignant and angry, the hiker leapt to his feet, ran toward the seemingly uncompassionate man, stood directly in his path, and in a loud voice demanded, "Sir! How can you possibly walk past all these drowning people? Have you no conscience? Must I force you to help me save these people?"

The stranger stopped, looked at him for the first time, and said with a calm,
focused voice, "Sir, please get out of my way. I am headed upstream, to stop the guy who is pushing all these people in."

Each of us has a role to play, in rescuing those who are drowning in sin.
Some of us, pull people from the water and resuscitate them with counseling, food and shelter, a rehabilitation program, a support group, or financial aid. Affirm those doing these important ministries. Others of us, find our place of ministry upstream, opposing the one pushing people into the river. We do this, by introducing those people to Jesus Christ. Knowing Christ sets a person free from sin, and releases them from satan's power over them. By itself, pulling people from the water isn't enough. We need to help people deal with the problem of sin at its source.

Modern 10 Commandments

TO: EVERYONE

FROM: GOD

Effective immediately, please be aware that there are changes you need to make in your life. These changes need to be completed, in order that I may fulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you the 10 Commandments. Keep them. But, follow these modern TEN COMMANDMENTS, also.

1.) QUIT WORRYING
Life has dealt you a blow, and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens, and carry them for you? Or, do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way? Get over it.

2.) PUT IT ON THE LIST
Something needs to be done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you, until you turn it over to Me. And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all, God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3.) TRUST ME
Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4.) LEAVE IT ALONE
Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength, and cover you in My peace. Don't you know, that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me, and forget about them. Just let Me do My job.

5.) TALK TO ME
I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry, and the fretting, because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please don't forget to talk to me - OFTEN! I love you. I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend.

6.) HAVE FAITH
I see a lot of things from up here, that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in Me, that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me, you wouldn't want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me.
Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7.) SHARE
You were taught to share, when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.

8.) BE PATIENT
I managed to fix it, so in just one lifetime, you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then, when it takes Me a little longer than you expect, to handle something on My to-do-list? Things occur on MY timetable, not yours. Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9.) BE KIND
Be kind to others, for I love them, just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way.
It would be too boring, if you were all identical. Please know, I love each of your differences.

10.) LOVE YOURSELF
As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by Me, for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But, also love yourself. It makes My heart ache, when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to Me. Don't ever forget that!
With all My heart I love you, GOD

Oh, don't forget to TALK to Me.

P.S. I LOVE YOU ALL !!!!!!!

Thankful Thursday

Well, I was suppose to be on my way to Sneads Florida today, to attend the Free To Be Me Bloggers Retreat. But, due to health problems, I had to stay home. I am disappointed, was looking so forward to meeting some wonderful blogging sisters, and sharing in a precious time of praising the Lord, and sharing our hearts with one another. But, God had other plans in store for me, so I will be here in Tennessee, allowing God to heal me physically. My body may not be there in Florida, but my heart, and my mind is. I intend to pray for those dear sisters all weekend. Asking God to be right there in the middle of everything they do during this retreat, may their souls be on fire. May they all be refreshed, and renewed. I pray this for each of you reading this post also, may God give you a special touch of love. I love you all, I really do. I pray only the best for all of you.

Take Control Of Your Life

We ought to obey God rather than men.
Acts 5:29

You may have the most expensive car on the road, but if you don't know how to take the wheel, or apply the brakes, you're in trouble. Sure, it's nice to let others do the driving from time to time, but, spiritually speaking, that puts you at the mercy of their direction, their values, and their goals.

God has given you the map. It's your responsibility to follow it! No matter how timid you are, don't allow anybody to dominate you, or tell you where to go. Get back into the driver's seat of your life, and take the wheel, for only you know where God has told you to go!

Too often our actions are dictated, not by a sense of purpose, but by a need to please. We care so much about what certain people think, that every step we take, we look over our shoulder, to see whether they're smiling, or frowning.

Hear this clearly: your first responsibility is to please God, not people. In the end, you're accountable to Him alone (Romans 14:12).

Listen, "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3 NIV). You say, "But I don't worship idols." You do, when you dedicate your life to impressing people, instead of obeying God.

You ask, "But who am I to assert myself?" Who are you not to? You're a child of God, and as such, your first responsibility is to please your Father. Your second, is to live your life to the fullest!

Growing Up Mondays- Why You Need The Church

The many parts make up only one body.
1 Corinthians 12:12 TLB

There's a wonderful story about Jimmy Durante, one of the truly great entertainers. He was asked to do a show for World War II veterans.. He told them he was very busy, but if they wouldn't mind his doing one short monologue, and immediately leaving for his next appointment, he'd come. They agreed. But when Jimmy got on stage he went through the short monologue - then stayed, and stayed. Soon he'd been on stage 15, 20, then 30 minutes. Finally, he took a last bow, and left. Backstage someone stopped him and said "I thought you had to go after a few minutes. What happened?" Jimmy answered, "You can see for yourself if you look on the front row." In the front row were two veterans, each of whom had lost an arm in the war. One had lost his right arm, and the other had lost his left. Together, they were able to clap, and that's exactly what they were doing, loudly and cheerfully.

That's a picture of what's supposed to happen in church: "But the many parts make up only one body, when they are all put together. So it is with the 'body' of Christ." But to enjoy its benefits, you have to go, and when you get there, you must reach out to others, so that you can know, and be known. Pew-sitting, back-of-the-head fellowship, won't cut it! Someone sitting next to you, has 20/20 vision, where you have blind spots. You need their counsel, correction, comfort and fellowship. And they need yours. When that happens, the church is working like it's supposed to.

God's Message To Women

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man, because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him, so I could patiently, and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep, so that he could not interfere with the creativity. From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man's life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do. Around this one bone, I shaped you. I modeled you.. I created you perfectly, and beautifully.

Your characteristics are as the rib, strong, yet delicate, and fragile. You provide protection, for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life.

The rib cage will allow itself to be broken, before it will allow damage to the heart. Support man, as the rib cage supports the body. You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him, and be held close to his side.

You are my perfect angel. You are my beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill, when I see the virtues in your heart. Your eyes - don't change them. Your lips how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose, so perfect in form, your hands so gentle to touch. I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I've held your heart close to mine. Of all that lives and breathes, you are the most like me. Adam walked with me in the cool of the day, and yet he was lonely. He could not see me, or touch me. He could only feel me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me, I fashioned in you: my holiness, my strength, my purity, my love, my protection and support.

You are special because you are the extension of me. Man represents my image - woman, my emotions. Together, you represent the totality of God.

So man - treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father, and the heart of her Father.

Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness, show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib, that protects his inner self.

Did you not know that woman was so special in God's eyes? Now we really know! Hallelujah!!

Thankful Thursday- On Friday

Hello dear friends, sorry I missed thankful Thursday yesterday. I enjoy it so much, I decided to do mine today. I missed yesterday due to sickness. I was actually in bed all day yesterday, got up for a short time after my lovebug came in from work, then had to go back to bed. My thyroid has taken such a toll on my body recently. I have several nodules, and a multi nodular goiter on my thyroid. Physically, this is really draining me. It has caused several infections recently, severe fatigue, nausea, a severe vitamin D insufficiency, and a slow heart rate, which is very scary, it feels like my heart is just going to stop at any moment. They think I could possibly have thyroid cancer, and are planning to do a needle biopsy on me. But, God is still on the throne, and He still loves me, and cares for me. I am His, so nothing else matters. These physical problems within my body, are just part of life. We all have our burdens to bear. I refuse to moan, or groan. I will do whatever is asked of me by my Father, that is the least I can do. He has done so very much for me, and I could never thank Him enough. But, I will try, by being patient, and not worrying, or complaining during my trials. I will praise Him in these storms, for He is my anchor, and the anchor always holds. Praise God.

Insight

Turn Thou me, and I shall be turned.
Jeremiah 31:18

Lord, I don't want to feel this way anymore. I thought that if my pain hit their lives, I'd feel better; I didn't. I thought that by holding it over their heads I'd feel better; I didn't. I thought that by telling everyone what they'd done, I'd feel vindicated; I didn't. It only kept the pain alive longer, and cost me friends, especially healthy ones. I thought that if only they'd acknowledge how wrong they'd been (and how right I'd been), I'd feel better; they didn't, and I felt worse. I thought if only I could understand why I picked such people, then maybe I'd find peace. So I read books, and talked with counsellors, but that didn't work, for I only discovered other things that I didn't have the emotional energy to deal with. I thought time would help. It helped, but it didn't heal, because there were still too many things that triggered old memories. I thought that by moving I would solve it; I didn't. I only changed addresses, not what was going on inside of me.

Finally I did two things and they worked - not overnight, but patiently, consistently - as I kept doing them, they worked. First, I decided to forgive, and keep on forgiving, until it didn't hurt anymore. Second, I cried out to God, "Turn Thou me, and I shall be turned."

He heard my cry! Gradually my mind began to clear, and my emotions began to heal. Why? Because now, I'd reached the place where getting well meant more - so much more to me, than staying sick! Selah!

Growing Up Mondays

By Dr. Dale A. Robbins

About the Author1 Corinthians 1:10 "Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

Many years ago, after a rousing sermon on church unity, I'll never forget the little girl who approached me after the service. She said, "Mister Pastor, why are there so many abominations?" I chuckled at her mispronunciation of "denomination," but thought to myself, perhaps her term is the more appropriate one to describe the division that sometimes exists between so many churches.

In the body of Christ, the various denominations exist largely due to different opinions about certain doctrines, organizational government, the style of worship, or perhaps passed-down traditions. But what is not commonly understood, is that most Christian churches have far more in common than they have in disagreement with each other. Researchers indicate that the majority of protestant/evangelical congregations in the U.S. share at least 90% of the same beliefs. And more importantly, there is little disagreement over the most basic elements of Christianity — such as Jesus' life and teachings, including His deity, death and resurrection.

The Apostle Paul, in his first letter to the church at Corinth, made it clear that division and disharmony in the body of Christ was not acceptable. In fact, he expressed an expectation of the church that sounds nearly unbelievable in today's standards: "that you all speak the same thing... that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and judgment."

Is it really possible for the body of Christ to attain such high ideals of unity? In practical terms, would it be possible for the Christian community to come into such harmony that we all "speak the same thing?" Such a possibility exists, only if Christians and churches can focus on the common ground of what makes us all Christians and followers of Christ.

More than any other factor, the common bond upon which every Christian church is founded is "Jesus Christ." He is the cornerstone upon which every believer bases his trust in eternal things. Above all other things, even above our interpretations and eloquent commentaries, "Jesus" needs to be the objective of preaching and teaching in the church. He is the object of our worship, the purpose of our service, the meaning of our very existence. And it's at the foot of the cross, where every humble believer finds that same common, blood-soaked ground which brings us together in unity as brothers and sisters in the family of God. Jesus said it Himself, that His suffering on the cross was a magnet to the lost — and from that great event He will gather to himself a collected body of followers. "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself" (John 12:32).

And so, unity between the churches is indeed possible "if" Jesus is fully committed to be our common denominator. Jesus must be the focal point — more than our variety of opinions and more than our celebrated traditions. We need to lift Him up above all things and speak the language that Jesus spoke — the language of God's love.

Speak lovingly and kindly of those who attend other churches — they are your family too. Cease striving, or competing against Christians of other congregations. Love, forgive, trust and uplift one another in the vast reservoir of God love.

Genuine love for our other brothers and sisters brings an image of "credibility" to the church. Jesus said that the world would identify His followers by love for each other. He indicated that the Gospel message would influence the whole world, from the evidence of our love for our brethren. Perhaps this is what the world is waiting for — to see a body of Christians who sincerely care about each other, who are not embroiled in conflict or competition. Then perhaps they will more likely believe that we really do represent Jesus, and might be inclined to trust the Gospel message we preach. Jesus said, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:34-35).

Both in the singular congregation and in the overall body of Christ, God's blessing resides upon love and unity. The psalmist declared that unity is associated with His anointing — a symbolic application of oil, representing His Holy Spirit. "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments" (Psa. 133:1-2).

If there was ever a time that the church needs God's anointing, it is today. And if we hope to embrace that anointed blessing, let each of us strive to make our contribution to the unity of the body of Christ.

Focus On Missions- Praying For The Lost

Day 1: The Work Of The Holy Spirit

Read Romans 9:1-3. Paul shares his agony, and concern for the Jewish people. He is broken and desperate, concerning their lost condition. He states how much he desires to see Israel saved. If it were possible, what was Paul willing to do to see Israel saved? Read Romans 9:3.

Why did Paul have such a passion and agony for the lost?

His passion and agony was a result of the Holy Spirit's work in him. The Spirit of God must produce this burden in you. It is His work in your life. Read John 16:8-11. What will the Holy Spirit convict people of?

How would you describe your concern for the lost?

Ask the Holy Spirit today to create within you a passion for the lost. Pray that He will convict you about their sin of unbelief, their need of Jesus' righteousness, and their certain judgment. Plead that this will move you to pray, as never before in your life.

Day 2 The Worthiness of God

Read Psalm 67. What does the psalmist pray for in verses 2-3?

How has God changed your life? What does your relationship to God mean to you? Is that worth sharing with others?

Psalm 67 teaches that God is worthy to be made known to the lost. There is no other God but Him, and Him alone. He is the great, and glorious God. People need to know this God.

Pray today that you will see and understand, in fresh and new ways, God's worthiness to be made known to the lost. Ask that this truth, will powerfully affect your praying for the lost.

Day 3 The Command of Jesus Christ

Read Matthew 28:19-20. What commands does Jesus give in these verses?

How does this apply to the lost around you?

Can this be accomplished without prayer?

Christ's command to lead people to Him, and then teach them the Word of God, is impossible in human wisdom and strength. It can only be accomplished through the power of God, that is released through prayer. Fervent, broken intercession is essential to reach people for Christ, and then leading them to maturity.

Ask God to convict you of the impossibility of the Great Commission in human strength. Pray that He will burden you with the truth, that the Great Commission can only be carried out through fervent prayer.

Day 4 The Necessity of God's Word

Read Romans 10:13-15, 17. What will happen to those who call on the name of the Lord (v.13)?

What is the process behind a person calling on the name of the Lord (vv.14-15)?

How does a person exercise faith in Jesus Christ (v.17)?

This passage teaches that a person must hear, and believe God's Word in order to be saved. True faith comes through hearing the Word of God. There is no substitute for the Word of God. It is the instrument that God has chosen to draw people into relationship with Himself. People must hear the Word of God, if they are going to exercise saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Ask God today, to convict you in a fresh way of the necessity of people hearing, and believing the Word of God. Pray that you will have no doubt concerning this truth.

Day 5 The Uniqueness of Jesus Christ

Read John 14:6; Acts 4:12; John 3:16?

Who is the only way to the Father?

What is the only name by which lost men and women can be saved?

Who has been sent by the Father to be the Savior?

Since Jesus is the only Savior, what does this mean for the lost person?

These passages reveal the uniqueness of Jesus Christ. He is the only Savior. He is the only hope of sinners. There is no other way of salvation but through Him. We must plead that sinners will turn to Him in faith and repentance. We must cry out to God, that they will surrender to Him.

Ask the Holy Spirit to burn this truth into you heart. Plead that you will know, and understand clearly that there is no hope for anyone outside of Jesus Christ.

Day 6 The Intensity of Spiritual Warfare

Read John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:3; 1 Peter 5:8.

What does satan desire to do to lost people (John 8:44)?

What does satan do in the lives of lost people (Ephesians 2:3)?

How does satan control lost people (2 Corinthians 4:4)?

What is satan seeking to do (1 Peter 5:8)?

satan binds lost people through the chains of sin. he blinds them through his lies. he longs to damn them to hell forever. The only hope that the lost have is believers who will plead for them. satan laughs at our plans, and our programs. But, he trembles when believers pray. he cannot stand against the power of God, that is released through prayer.

Plead today, that God would show you in a fresh way, that the lost are bound by satan, and that he desires to damn them forever in hell. Ask Him to convict you deeply, that prayer is the most powerful weapon that you have against satan and his plans.

Day 7 The Certainty of Judgment

Read Hebrews 9:27; Matthew 10:28; Luke 13:1-3.

What two things are going to happen to every person (Hebrews 9:27)?

What will God do to those who reject Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:28)?

What must a person do to escape hell (Luke 13:1-3)?

It is an unpleasant subject. Yet, it is as certain, and as sure as God Himself is. Lost people who die in their sin, will be judged by God and cast into hell. Because they rejected Jesus Christ, they will forever face the wrath of God. This is going to happen. It is an unchanging, absolute certainty.

Plead with God, to grant you a fresh reminder of God's judgment. Pray that He will break your heart, and move you to pray, and witness because of peoples' eternal destiny apart from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Day 8 The Compassion Of Jesus Christ

Read Matthew 9:35-38.

How did Jesus feel about the crowds (v.35)?

Why did Jesus feel such compassion (v.35)?

How much do you think about the spiritual needs of others?

When Jesus looked at the crowds, He didn't see just a mass of people. He saw lost, hurting people in need of a Savior. When you look at others, you need to see them as Jesus did-lost, hurting, and in need of a Savior.

Plead today, for the eyes of Jesus. Ask that you will see the spiritual needs of others. Pray that His compassion for the lost, will be released in your life.

When I said

When I said to the Lord "I am so short of where you want me to be."
He gently answered "That's okay. That's all the farther, you and I can walk together."

When I said to the Lord "I don't know who I am."
He gently answered "That's okay. I know who you are."

When I said to the Lord "I am so tired of fighting."
He gently answered "That's okay. satan is down for the count."

When I said to the Lord "My actions aren't reflecting my heart."
He gently answered "That's okay. Mine did."

When I said to the Lord "My mind is corrupted."
He gently answered "That's okay. Use mine for awhile."

When I said to the Lord "I don't know how to love."
He gently answered "That's okay. I will give you free lessons"

Question

Hey everybody, pray you are all enjoying your weekend. I have a question, hopefully someone will have an answer for me. I finally got a digital camera, and I learned how to make a video. But, the problem is, no sound. My camera has a built in microphone. Any one have a clue to what the problem might be. I really would appreciate any help. Blessings and love to you all.

Optimism

In order to better understand people's views of the world, a researcher once placed two children, one a pessimist, and the other an optimist, alone in separate rooms. The pessimist was placed in a colorful room full of all kinds of imaginative toys...the optimist was put in a room filled with horse manure. The first child played in the room for a little while, but soon came to the door asking to leave, because the toys were boring, and because they broke too easily. Likewise, the young optimist soon came to the door...but rather than asking to leave, she asked for a shovel. Of course, the researcher asked the child why she wanted a shovel. She replied, "With all this manure around, I know that there must be a pony in here somewhere."

Thankful Thursday- Count Your Blessings

Count your blessings, name them one by one. Wow, if I did that, I would lose count, actually, I cannot count that high. God is so good to me, everyday of my life. I am so thankful for my Saviour, and His precious love. I thank Him for my salvation, for my life, for my lovebug, for my family, for my friends, for my church family, for meeting my every need, whether it be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. I thank Him for hearing me, when no one else does. I thank Him for touching my heart daily in new ways. For accepting me, when others sometimes don't. For thinking I am beautiful, for carrying me, when I cannot carry myself. I thank Him for always being faithful to me, never breaking His promises. Always answering my hearts call, never being to busy. Thank You Lord, for all of Your blessings upon my life.

The Proverbial Sunrise- Compassion

Dictionary definition of compassion:

A feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another, who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied, by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. Matthew 9:36 When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Mark 8:2 I have compassion for these people; they have already been with Me three days, and have nothing to eat.
Not only the spiritual destitution of men, but their physical need as well appealed to the compassion of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 14:14 When Jesus landed, and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, and healed their sick.
When Jesus saw a crowd of men, He was moved with compassion. His compassion on the multitude is mentioned five times. A crowd of men, is a pitiful sight. It represents so much of sorrow, so much of pain, so much of sin. What is your feeling when you look out on a crowd? Judging by the context of this passage, the sick seem to have especially drawn out His compassion.
Jesus Christ had compassion on the blind.
Matthew 20:34 Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes. Immediately, they received their sight, and followed Him. What about you? For whom do you have compassion? Or, have you become so hardened by the evil of the world, that you no longer have compassion? Do you tend to be more selfish, than selfless? Do your needs come before the needs of others? If so, you need to fall on your knees, and cry out to God for a major softening of your heart. If you are a Christian, then Christ is living in you. Christ is the greatest example of compassion, and we are to follow His lead. We are not just suppose to walk by those in need, we are to reach out our hands, and hearts to them. We are suppose to be Christ in action, are we??

Marriage Monday

It's Marriage Monday over at Chrysalis, and today's topic is "Extreme Makeover: How God Renewed Our Marriage Against All the Odds." My lovebug and I will celebrate 25 years of marriage on April 6th. Has it always been easy? Of course not, but, God did not promise us a rose garden filled with no thorns. It has been through those thorn pricking moments, that our marriage has really learned to bloom. We have had some wonderful, mountaintop experiences, as well as some deep in the valley moments. The one thing that has never changed, has always been there, is our love for one another. Here are a couple of scriptures that helped us through the trying times: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up.But pity the man who falls, and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Colossians 3:12-19
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive, as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Our marriage consist of three: God, me, and my lovebug. As long as this marriage remains a trio, with God leading the way, we will not only survive, but we will daily thrive under the Sonshine.

Growing Up Mondays

Contribute to solutions and not to problems — Every pastor would be thrilled if each of his flock got involved, and helped the church in some way. However, they would rejoice if certain ones simply stopped being a pain in the neck! It's a shame that pastors spend so much time "putting out fires," that is, squelching problems that could have a negative influence on the whole body, such as gossip, rumors, complaining, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, discontent and so forth. Regrettably, it has been said that 90% of these kinds of problems are generated among the same 10% of the people..

Spiritually mature persons who wish to help their church don't become a part of such problems -- instead, they contribute to solutions. They avoid divisive people (Rom. 16:17) and don't get caught up in the mischief or grievances of others (1 Tim. 5:13). If they are aware of spreading problems in the fellowship, they will try to bring a resolution, or else they bring matters to the attention of spiritual leadership so that they can bring an end to it (Matt. 18:15-17). People who wish to be an asset to their church don't participate with or spread problems -- they help spiritual leadership resolve them.

Focus On Missions

When Someone You Love Is Lost

.....As a believer, you know the condition of those who are outside of Jesus Christ. You understand that they are separated from God, under His wrath, and facing an eternity of misery and damnation. You realize that lost people have no true hope or peace. You are fully aware of their bondage to sin. This understanding burdens you for those who are lost.
.....
Yet, this burden increases when the lost person is someone you know intimately and love. It may be a husband, wife, son, daughter, or other family member. It grieves your heart to know that your loved one is separated from God, under His wrath, and headed for an eternity in hell. You long for your loved one to experience true hope and peace through the Lord Jesus Christ. You yearn for your loved one to be set free from bondage to sin.
.....What do you do when someone you love is lost? The following are some biblical principles that you can put into practice to help you with this burdensome load:

  • Realize that there is hope (Acts 16:15, 29-34). In these texts, God saved whole households. His power can reach and change any sinner. Rest in His power and grace that can save your loved one. There are no hopeless cases this side of the grave.
  • Ask God to grant you patience and persistence (Luke 18:1). Pray that God will grant you the patience to be faithful to this person. When a person turns to Christ in faith, it is usually a process. Ask God to help you to pray, love, and witness to this person for the long haul. Also, pray for a spirit of persistence. Sometimes your loved one may outright reject the gospel. He or she may show no interest whatsoever. Ask God to help you persist in loving, praying for, and ministering to him or her regardless of his or her reaction.
  • Pray for the influence of other Christians (1 Corinthians 3:5-8). There are times when family members may not listen to you and your witness. Yet, there may be others that your loved one will listen to. Pray that God would send into your loved one's life believers that he or she will love, respect, and listen to. Plead that He would grant your loved one friends who will be faithful to minister to him or her.
  • Plead that your loved one will be radically transformed by Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Call on God to change your loved one through His grace and power. There is a tendency to pray for God to change certain sinful habits in a lost person's life. Yet, a person can exchange sins without experiencing a change of heart. Plead with God to regenerate your loved one. Ask Him to transform your loved one through the power of the Spirit and the gospel.
  • Ask God for opportunities to demonstrate love to your lost loved one (Matthew 5:13-14). Even when your loved one will not listen to your words, he or she can see your actions. Pray for opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus to this person. Ask that they will sense and know the difference in your life because of Jesus Christ.
  • Pray tenaciously (Isaiah 62:2-7). Wrestle with God concerning your loved. Plead His promises. Claim His Word. Pray for mercy and grace upon your loved one. Determine in your heart to seek God, until He answers.
  • Don't lose heart (Galatians 6:9). When someone you love is lost, it can be a long, weary struggle. It would be easy to give up hope, and feel that he or she will never come to Christ. Yet, don't give up. Don't lose heart. God is a merciful and sovereign God. As long as your loved one is alive, there is hope. As long as he or she has breath in the body, there is the possibility of him or her coming to Jesus Christ. In God's time, you will reap the harvest.

Word For Today

The Word for Today with Bob Gass

He has made everything appropriate in its time…
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NAS

One preacher said, "Friends, if I were God, your body would always be 18, you could eat anything, and maintain perfect weight; your middle-aged wife would have the face and figure of an angel; your mid-life husband, thick hair and washboard abs; your youngsters as intelligent as Einstein; your teens cooperative, logical and consistent. Temperatures would be 22 always; snow would be warm, melting overnight; and there'd be no nasty people. Alas, I'm not God!"

So we age, gain weight, struggle raising kids, shiver in winter, sweat in summer, and put up with difficult people. Welcome to the roller-coaster ride of life! It's neither punishment, nor proof you're fatally flawed; nor is it heaven or hell selecting you for 'special' persecution, nor evidence you aren't truly saved. No, it's just life in the real world! Jesus said, "On earth you will have many trials… (John 16:33 NLT). As in the physical universe, there's an underlying 'law of wave mechanics.' In accord with it, our energy, emotions and creativity ebb and flow consistently. Sometimes we're on top of the mountain, other times the mountain is on top of us. But whether at peak or trough, God's law of wave mechanics functions - for our benefit. "There is… a time to weep (trough), and a time to laugh (peak); a time to mourn (trough), and a time to dance (peak)" (Ecclesiastes 3:1&4 NAS). While it's more fun to laugh than weep, 'He has made everything appropriate in its time.'

Relax. God, who is Alpha and Omega, determines the seasons of your life. Whichever one you're in, the Word for you today is: "My grace is sufficient for you… (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV).

I Am Delighted In You, Says The Lord

Word of the Day

Beloved One, I am so delighted when I see your heart respond to the natural beauty displayed around you…delighted to know your heart is being lifted up to the mountains…to the Lord from whence your help comes without interruption. I am delighted in you when you trust in My unfailing love. It is not about doing. However, it is about delighting…about simply being delightfully conscious of My presence, beauty and love. How this pleases Me.

Everywhere new life emerges, showing off its splendor, its hope, its promise. Declarations are made about My goodness, and provision for your life. Don't let your heart, which has so much to be grateful for, be despondent because the accuser of the brethren has made an attempt to cloud in any way, the incredible beauty of your life.

There are many principles and things I could teach you today; but, what you need most is a tender touch…a whisper of love. I made you to love Me, be loved by Me, and by others. It is MY perfect, love without condemnation which will sustain you in the days to come, nothing else. Yes, I will send others, and they will love you as well; but remember, they are human just like you, and can fail too. Therefore, receive from Me…be with Me, and when they do, you will have the love and grace they need.

I am delighted in you, with you and for you. I never want you to feel far away from me. It simply isn't true, and cannot be true. You are hidden in Me. Lay your misgivings down, and lay your ear against the beating of My heart. Find a soft chair…soft music and crawl up in My lap…My embrace. Hear My heart beat words of encouragement, and praise.

Beloved, it isn't your obedience to Me, your faith in Me, or even the amount of love you have for Me, that honors me the most. What honors Me the most is when you rest in…when you trust in My unconditional, unchanging, unfailing love. What honors Me, is when you know you are accepted no matter what. Regardless of behavior, regardless of performance, regardless of success, or failure, you are accepted in the Beloved. Come and rest…

The LORD's delight is in those who honor him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love. Psalm 147:11

Prayer

Lord, I lay my misgivings at Your feet and crawl up in Your lap, Your embrace. I lay my ear against the beating of Your ever encouraging heart. How I delight in you, my God and my King…my Friend and my Comforter…my Hope and my Wisdom. I receive Your tender touch today. I receive your touch right now, right in the midst of my busy, and sometimes confusing life. I receive a sustaining grace to walk out the beauty of a life set free from expectation and performance. I am accepted in the Beloved, and nothing can change that.

No power or principality can change the truth of who You say I am to you. I could lie down and never do another thing, and you would love Me. This kind of love motivates me…encourages me to be about Your business…not out of duty, but out of reciprocal love for one who adores me. Today I relish Your closeness…Your faithfulness which never fluctuates no matter if I am joyous or despondent. Love is love, and Yours is ever-present and unchanging. I am humbled by such an amazing grace. I have come this day to rest, and be refreshed. Fill me to overflowing with love and strength. Amen.

Reflect and Journal

1. Have you ever thought about how the Lord delights in you, simply because you hope in His unfailing love?

2. When nature displays its beauty, when the rain falls on parched ground, when new life emerges from a seed, declarations about the faithfulness and sovereignty of God are made in visible ways aimed at capturing our heart. Have you ever thought about the connection between the marvels of nature, and the voice of the Father being connected? Have you ever just sat and marveled at Gods goodness and power in what you see. Scripture says He cares for the sparrow, and cares even more for you. What misgivings do you need to let go of for even a moment, to enjoy the beauty around you…to listen to His heartbeat…to sit in His lap. I was walking in my garden, and the beautiful pink roses were in full bloom. I almost walked by. Instead, I cupped one in my hand. As I smelled its lovely fragrance, I thought of Jesus, and the lovely fragrance of His life. I imagine Jesus smells like my rose and I hoped in Him. This delighted the Lord. Selah (meditate).

3. Are you so caught up in principles and obedience (all of which are good if walked out as Christ lives through you) that you miss the sweetness…the beauty? Are you so concerned about what you have, or haven't done that you miss delighting in the one who delights in you?

4. Do you feel accepted by Him who loves you no matter what? If not, write down your so called warts, and give them to Him in an act of faith. Receive His rest…His complete acceptance.

Thankful Thursday

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Thankful Thursday. I appreciate Lynn for being our hostess with the mostest this month, we love you sweetie. This week I want to give God a great big round of applause for safely bringing my great nephew Zachary Wyatt into the world Sunday night. He, and his mom are both doing well. It is bittersweet, his grandfather, my big brother, went to heaven last June. I know Charles is smiling down from heaven upon his beautiful first grandchild. Also, my uncle was in the hospital with a bad case of shingles, he is now home. Thank You Lord. God is good all the time, and all the time He is good. Physically right now, I am in a battle. I am fighting off several infections throughout my body, out of control thyroid, and diabetes. But, I continue to sing through this storm. I refuse to let satan get one tiny foothold in my life, he cannot, and will not be allowed to steal my joy from me. I know the true maker of peace, and overflowing joy. Right now, it sometimes feels as if I am imprisoned by my sickness, but that is ok. In my trials, I am made stronger. So, I will keep banging on my prison cell doors, and singing at the top of my lungs. Can you hear me my friends? Oh, oh, oh Your love is better. Oh, oh, oh Your love is better, Jesus, Your love, is better than life. Thank You Lord. I can do all things through Him, I can carry on through my sickness. I will battle on!!
