Friday Date Night
My friend over at the journey back, has started a new meme. She wants us to give her dating ideas, ways to romance your husband back. I forgot to post yesterday, so I am posting a day late. My lovebug and I love to woo one another, but we do not have alot of money. But, that does not matter. There are so many things you can do, that require no money, or very little money. This week, I am going to share our movie date night. We rent two DVD'S, a comedy, and a romance. I pop some popcorn, we have boxes of candy that we get at Walmart(just like the boxes at the movies, except much cheaper) We snuggle close, and enjoy the movies. After the first movie, we have intermission. Which, at our house, that means it is time for a major pillow fight. Then, we watch the other movie, and snuggle, snuggle, snuggle. It is so much fun, and so worth it Make date night a weekly event at your home, you will be glad you did.

Awwww that is an awesome date night! Thanks for sharing!
Oh what a sweet post and very creative. We watch movies but don't usually rent. But I love the idea of popping the popcorn and getting candy and then doing intermission. Just makes it kind of special. And I love the comedy and romance. That's truly a date night! Thanks for sharing.
I love the idea.
Maybe when this takes off I'll choose my fav. and post it on my blog! Hope your date was great.
Have a Blessed weekend.
Love,
Sherry
Sweet story and how wonderful that you and sweet DH understand that it is just being together that counts.. Lots of people have lots of money but they are not happy..... You are the richer one.........
How sweet Denise...glad that you joined Journey Back's Date Night.
I love the creative ideas you share even with this and Lovebug. A pillow fight??? an even cheaper way is to check out the movies from the library but sounds like you have a good system with popcorn, candy & fun!
Hope you & Lovebug enJOY many date nights of fun and much love!
Sounds wonderful! There is nothing like snuggling up close to your love.
sounds like a sweet evening together!
This is such a great idea. As you know, Honey Bear and I have date night. It used to be Friday night and will be again. Its just that these days, he gets home kind of late from his road trip.
It isn't about spending money but about spending quality time together without distractions. My friends and family know not to call during this time unless it is an emergency.
We usually start by sitting together and sharing our week. Then we talk about how blessed we area and discuss plans for our future. We usually have pizza on date night. We buy a frozen one and add embellishments. We often watch a movie, too. Date night is very important to our marriage. Everyone needs to do it. I think it is doubly important to a couple with children.

That is very sweet, Denise, I love it and you too.
Like what you said, money is not important. It is your heart that forever keep each other warm...That's a great plan! God bless the two of you!
Oh! Denise, this is so sweet, we have a date night, but we haven't had that pillow fight yet, and i like that idea. I like that you call you dh lovebug, that is the cutest name. so cute.
Denise, there are not enough words to tell you how much your friendship means to me, even though we have never met , i feel such a kinship with you. you are one of the sweetest bloggers I know, always encouraging everyone jut like you did me yesterday. Thank you so much.
with much love,
Sue
Hi My Friend,
Just stopped in to say I love you! I like your date night time. I think it's great and you're right, you don't need to spend lots of money to enjoy eachother's company and have a good time.
My prayers are with you my precious sister. You are always such an encouragement to me.
Again, I love you sweet sister.
Hugs, Prayers & Blessings,

My husband and I are 59 and 64 and we still have date nights. We go to dinner and then a movie. We love to take trips together and also enjoy antiquing.
We have a daily date together in the mornings when we do our devotion time together.
We read the Daily Bread Devotional and look up the scriptures and have a good discussion.
Then we read the Psalms for the day, and then the Proverb. If it is the first day of the month you read Psalm 1 and then add 30 and read Psalm 30 and then Psalm 60, and 90 etc. Then the one Proverb for the day.
Then we pray together for our needs, our kids and grandkids needs, our extended family, our church family's needs and others.
We also spend time just counting our blessings and thanking God too. It is WONDERFUL!
Since he is retired we have the time to do this in the mornings,...but those who still work could do them before bed.
It makes us closer than we have ever been,....and they do say it takes three to make a marriage! You, your spouse and God.
Have a great day!

What fun ideas for a date night.
Love hearing it. We check movies out from our library every now and then, too. My husband often rubs my feet while we watch. I REALLY like that. I like your idea of a comedy and a romance....
We also like playing games - especially Upwords, and sometimes we go to Borders where we read and split a drink.
