Update On My Sister

My sister had an appointment today with her heart Doctor, her EKG was good, praise God. He increased her kidney medicine to see if that would help to bring the swelling down. She has to go Friday for a Echocardiogram, please continue to pray for her. I love and appreciate all of you so much.

In Other Words Tuesday

“For most of this century we have wrongly defined soul wounds as psychological disorders and delegated their treatment to trained specialists. Damaged psyches aren’t the problem. The problem is disconnected souls. ” by Larry Crabb: Amen, I totally agree with this. I am not against counselors, they are needed in some cases. But, if you need the help of a counselor, save your money, turn to the greatest counselor ever, Jesus. He can heal your hurts, bind up your wounds, restore your marriages, and other relationships. He can restore your health, make you better than ever, if only you believe. Also, as a christian, you should be reaching out to this hurting world. Quit turning the other way when you see someone in need, did Jesus turn the other way when He saw all of your needs? No, He met you right where your needs were, and began to bless you. If your soul is truly connected to Jesus, as it should be, then you should have a great desire, a burning fire inside of you, to help others. Look around you, see what is really there. Broken hearts, broken life's, loneliness, abuse, addictions, and way too many lost souls heading toward hell. What can you do to change their situations? What can you do to change their destination from hell to glorious heaven? Be willing to connect with others, join your heart with theirs, and then help them to connect with Jesus. Stop living a disconnected life my friend, be connected, the way Jesus longs for you to be.

Please Pray

Dear heavenly Father, I love You. I bring my sister Vicki before Your throne. She has several medical problems, diabetes, kidney failure, and heart problems. She is in pain right now Father, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her legs, feet, and stomach are all swollen very badly. She loves You, and believes in You. But, she is afraid that her kidneys are getting worse. She goes to see her heart doctor tomorrow afternoon. Please touch her Father, You are her true Physician, and healer. I beg You Father, if it be Your will, please heal my sister, take the swelling from her body. I love You, I love You. I believe in Your power. Amen

Memory Verse Monday

My memory verse last week was:

Psalm 119:11- Your Word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. : I love Your Word Father God, it brings sweet peace to my life. I truly treasure it over silver, gold, or diamonds. I want to dwell upon Your Word, soak it up like a sponge. I never want to sin against You. Amen

Mission 4 Monday- Prevent Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying — the practice of using technology to hurt someone's feelings — is turning computers and cell phones into weapons of personal destruction among America's youth. Imagine being a 13-year-old girl facing classmates after discovering a cell phone picture of her changing for gym class is being circulated among the seventh grade. Or imagine being an 11-year-old boy who is scared to go to school because an unknown bully sent him an instant message saying that he is so fat that he should kill himself. Cases such as these are happening every day, leading kids to be depressed and unable to concentrate.
Worse yet, parents are oblivious to what is happening. Only 15 percent of parents polled by wiredsafety.org even knew what
cyberbullying was. And anyone who thinks that their child is not a victim or a bully is probably wrong — 90 percent of middle school students have had their feelings hurt online and 75 percent have admitted to visiting a web site bashing another student.
Unlike traditional schoolyard bullying, where a bully has a name and a face, cyberbullying gets much of its power from anonymity. A cyberbully might design a web site posting cruel remarks and altered photos of a classmate and never tell anyone that he or she was the creator. Cyberbullying also gets its power from the scope of its audience. Within seconds, a cyberbully can send an e-mail to everyone he or she knows inviting them to take part in an online poll of who is the ugliest kid in their class. Victims can be picked on day and night from virtually any location.
The good news is that you can help stop cyberbullying. By making parents and educators aware of what is going on and encouraging them to take quick, strong actions when cyberbullying cases occur, you can help make technology constructive, not destructive, for young people.

Distribute a copy of
The Educator's Guide to Cyberbullying to all teachers at your local school.
Recommend the
Dealing with Online Bullies lesson plan to local teachers. Encourage them to use videos of cyberbullying cases to stir discussion. Print out copies of the poster Cyberbullying: Don't Be a Victim or a Cyberbully for them to post by computers in their classrooms.
Ask parents in your neighborhood to review
Cyberbullying Victim and Offender Warning Signs.
Talk with your children about cyberbullying. Discuss how spreading hurtful comments or pictures can affect another person and how even just visiting a web site that bashes another student gives more power to a bully. Teach your children a rule to remember when using instant messaging, e-mail, or the Internet: If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't say it anywhere else. Consider printing the
Internet Use Contract for both you and your children to sign.

Swept Away-Poem I wrote

Everyday,
I am swept away,
by the love
that You show to me.
You accept me as I am,
nothing less,
nothing more.
You sweep me away,
without delay,
when the storms of life
come crashing down upon me.
In Your arms, is where
I find my hiding place.
You are grace defined,
and I am grateful
that You are mine.

Thankful Thursday

Welcome to another Thankful Thursday, give God a great big round of applause, woo hoo!! I am walking on Sonshine, not a cloud in sight. God is so awesome, I love giving Him shout outs. I thank Him for His never ending love for me, and His constant care of me. He has poured His beautiful blessings all over my life, my life is looking more and more like a rainbow from heaven. The devil, and all of his evil demons, cannot touch my life. They have no authority over me, I have authority over them, given to me by God. So, do not come knocking upon my door devil, God dwells in this home, and no evil is allowed entrance. I am so grateful for the protection of my Father, He surrounds me daily like a shield. My heart can barely contain all the love I have for my Father. But, that is ok, let it overflow into the lives of others. Flow Father flow, from soul to soul. Let everyone that has breathe praise Him!!

In Other Words Tuesday

Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest Presidents in U.S. history once said:“To ease another’s heartache, is to forget one’s own.”: There are so many people in this world that are dealing with some major heartache. You might possibly be dealing with a heartache yourself. If you are my friend, please do not allow yourself to get totally lost in your pain. Instead, look around your world, there will be someone hurting more than you. Put your focus outward toward others, find ways to ease anothers pain. In doing so, your pain will be eased in the process also. We all deal with pain and heartache in this life, but we must not let it take over our life. God never said we would have a heartache free life, there will always be thorns among the roses. But, the beauty of the rose, is well worth the prick of the thorn. Be blessed, by being a blessing.

Memory Verse Monday

My memory verse from last week was Jeremiah 17:9- The heart is more deceitful than all else, and is desperately sick, who can understand it? : Our hearts really try to deceive us quite often, and if we are not prepared, we will fall into sin because of the deceit. Only God can understand our hearts, and guard them.

Mission 4 Monday- Prevent Child Abuse

PREVENT CHILD ABUSE

Child abuse leaves more than just bruises. Long after children have recovered from the physical results of a beating, abused children suffer from emotional and psychological trauma that can last the rest of their lives.
Adults who experienced
child abuse in their youth are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, commit violent crimes, form unhealthy relationships, and even abuse their own children.
Unfortunately, many bystanders witness child abuse and do nothing about it. Neighbors and friends, may hear or even see child abuse happening, but don't want to intrude or interfere with "the rights" of the parents. Such inaction can mean years of pain and heartbreak for young children who are unable to get out of a bad situation.
Abused children need your intervention. In their helplessness, they must rely on capable adults who are willing to take a stand and get them out of an abusive environment. By being aware of child abuse, and helping to educate the people you know, you can help prevent child abuse in your community.

Learn about child abuse. Educate yourself by taking the
Myths and Realities About Child Abuse Quiz. Keep these key facts in mind:
Child abusers can be any age, any gender, and any race. They can be from any economic class and have any level of education.
Children are more likely to be abused by their own parents than by a stranger.
Rarely does an incident of child abuse happen in isolation. When a child is abused once, it is likely to happen again.
Educate your neighbors and friends about child abuse. Consider emailing your acquaintances a link to this article. Or, ask an official from a local domestic violence shelter to speak to your neighborhood group, church association, PTA, or other organization. They are usually more than willing to share what they know about how to prevent child abuse.
Make sure your acquaintances know that they can get help if they find themselves in a situation where they could become an abuser. It is often difficult for abusers to get help because they are afraid of losing their children and don't want to be judged by the people they know. Abusers can get the help they need by:
Making an anonymous call to the
National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-4-A-Child). Non-judgmental hotline counselors will help them work through their problems, suggest alternative ways to interact with their children, and connect them with resources that are available in their community.
Joining a support group.
Parents Anonymous holds weekly meetings around the country to help people develop positive parenting skills. The group meetings are free of charge and parents are welcome to attend for as long as they wish.
Seeking respite care. Many states offer
respite care programs that will take care of a children for a few hours if they could be in danger of abuse. Such programs are not meant to be daycares, but they do offer an emergency solution for parents who need some immediate relief and don't have friends or family members they can turn to.
Stop child abuse when you see it. If you have trouble identifying the difference between child abuse and acceptable forms of discipline, take a look at the government's
definition of child abuse. If you're concerned that a child may be abused, it's better to be safe than sorry. Here's what you can do:
Call the
National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-4-A-Child). During your anonymous call, their counselors can help you evaluate the situation and help you make a child abuse report to the proper authorities. If you are nervous about making a report, they will even stay on the line during a 3-way call to offer you support.
Call your state's
Department of Child Protective Services directly. They will take the information you provide and do a thorough investigation into the situation. If they find that child abuse is occurring, they will remove the child from the situation.
If a child is in life-threatening danger, call 911 immediately.
It's time that people take a stand against child abuse. Your simple actions will help prevent child abuse and give abused children hope for a brighter future.

Fearless Friday

Praise Report: This week has been filled with many blessings, praise God. Our troubles with the unemployment people are over, we will be getting a back pay check, and a check for this week. God is so awesome. My dad is going to help pay for me to go to the bloggers retreat in October, that is so sweet of him. May he be as blessed, as he blessed me. Church is going great, I love it!! Prayer Requests: 1)Please continue to pray for my sister Vicky, her health is not good at all. Also, this week , she asked me to please pray that her joy in the Lord would be restored, and that she would be able to find a new church. 2) Please pray for my sweet friend Angela, she is dealing with so much right now with her son Randan. Please pray for Randan, that his heart would be softened, and he will cry out to God. 3) Please pray that God would use me in any ministry that he chooses at my church. Here I am Lord. Thanks for your prayers, be blessed.

Thankful Thursday

Praise God for all of His beautiful blessings upon my life. My cup has been running over all week. Both church services on Sunday were so awesome. The preaching, the music, the love, everything blessed me. I talked to my dad on Tuesday, and he wanted me to sing to him. Recently, every time we talk, he wants me to sing to him. That makes my heart smile really big. So, I sang to him a song we had sang at church on Sunday, and that I had been singing around the apartment all week. He loved it, bless his heart. Then, he totally blessed my socks off, he told me that he really wants me to be able to go to the bloggers retreat in October, so he is going to pay for me to go. Praise God, my dad loves me, and wants me to be happy. I have prayed for this all of my life. Lovebug found out this week, that unemployment is going to back pay him for the week of March 2-6, and pay him for this week. I praise God for His financial blessings upon our life. I had a doctor appointment this week, the news was not to good, but that is ok. Because it does not matter if I am sick, or well, I will serve my God. He gave His life for me, the least I can do is work for Him in my church, and my world. The song we sang at church, and I sang to my dad is by Misty Edwards. It is playing on my blog, the name of it is my soul longs for You. Here are the words to it: My soul longs for You, my soul longs for You,Nothing else will do, nothing else will do,my soul longs for You, my soul longs for You,Nothing else will do, nothing else will do... I believe You will come like the rain... You'll come like the rain,so let it rain, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain... Hallelujah Hallelujah You'll make all things new

My soul truly does long for You Lord, and there is nothing else that I long for, because nothing else will do. I believe that You will come like the rain, so let it rain. Pour down upon me, make all things new. Reign Lord, Reign. I love You. Amen

In Other Words Tuesday

What would happen if we stopped lamenting about the fifty things we can't control, and focused our attention on the fifty thousand things we can control? What would happen if we stopped whining about things we have the power to change, and finally took charge of our lives and changed them? What would happen if we stopped borrowing sorrow from tomorrow? If we got in the habit of asking ourselves, "What's on my plate today?" ~Karen Scalf LinamenChocolatherapy: Satisfying the Deepest Cravings of Your Inner Chick : Amen, we need to quit sitting around whining, complaining, and sulking. We need to get out of the pity pool, and jump into the deep, invigorating hallelujah end of the pool. Look around you, soak in everything God has done for you, and continues to do. Let go, and totally let God. Give it all away to Him, not bits and pieces. Set yourself free from all the worries of this world, God wants to unshackle you, He holds the key to your every chain that you choose to drag around daily in your life. When the shackles come off, begin to dance. Dance for joy, be care free. Be all you were meant to be for God, your Father.

Memory Verse Monday

Last weeks memory verse was 92:1--It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High......Psalm 92:1 (NASB) I love to thank the Lord for all His many blessings upon my life. I love to raise my voice in songs of praise to His name. He alone is most worthy of my love, and praise.

Mission 4 Monday

SEND A GET WELL SOON CARD TO A HOSPITALIZED CHILD

Get Well Soon Cards help hospitalized children feel less isolated and lonely.
When a seriously ill child remains hospitalized for months, family visits can become less frequent, particularly when the child is transferred to a specialized hospital far from the parents' home. These parents may have other children to care for, and jobs they must keep to maintain medical insurance or to pay uncovered medical bills.
As a result, children requiring long-term care may get most of their human contact during routine – and often impersonal – treatment from doctors and nurses. While these professionals help with the child's physical pain, there is usually little time to deal with the emotional pain of isolation, confusion, and homesickness.
Sending Get Well Soon Cards to hospitalized children is a wonderful way to help cheer them. This contact, and message of caring, can be the highlight of a hospitalized child's day.
Light-hearted, humorous cards are well-received. If laughter is indeed the best medicine, then your Get Well Soon Card can be a big help.

Find a Recipient:
There are several organizations who feature eager recipients of Get Well Soon Cards:
Hugs and Hope
Make a Child Smile
Post Pals
Each of these websites provides
helpful guidelines for communicating with children receiving long-term hospital care.
Carefully Review the Child's Biography:
Consider the recipient's physical limitations (e.g., do not send musical cards to a deaf child).
Discover interests that you might be able to incorporate into your card (e.g., favorite cartoon characters).
Select a Card:
Mindful that some chronically ill children may never recover, your card should aim to cheer-up the child without saying "get well soon" directly. Instead, "Thinking of You" and "Friendship" cards convey the spirit of "get well soon" without raising false hope in children who may never get better.
Craft Your Message:
Keep your message light and cheerful. Referring to the child's interests will make him or her feel special. Jokes are always fun for children. There are many appropriate children's jokes on
Aha Jokes.
If you don't want to create your own message, you could follow this sample message to enclose in your card:
Hello (Child's First Name)!
I just wanted to say hello from [City and State]. I am wishing you a day full of great big smiles and bright blue skies. I would like to share a Knock Knock joke with you:
Knock Knock Who's there?Aardvark!Aardvark who?Aardvark a hundred miles for one of your smiles!
I hope you thought this was funny; I sure did!
Have a super day!Sincerely yours,[First Name Last Name]
Send Your Card Via USPS Postal Mail:
All Get Well Soon Cards must be sent through postal mail (usually to P.O. boxes), since none of the children accept Get Well Soon e-Cards.
Note: Most families will not respond to your Get Well Soon Card. While they appreciate your good wishes, most families are simply too busy to respond. Always include your contact information, however, when sending a Get Well Soon Card, so that the child's family knows from whom the card was sent.

Even Jesus Had to Make Choices

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Not only did God send His Son,
But the Son had to be willing to come.
I and my Father are one. John 10:30
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Revelation 22:13
When Jesus was 12 years old He knew why He was on earth, so He stayed behind at the temple. After searching for Him for 3 days Joseph & Mary found Him. He thought he was doing what was right. But they scolded Him and took Him back home. Today he would be considered a runaway.
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? Luke 2:48-49
And he (Jesus) went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:51-52
When Jesus became of age, He began His ministry.
Jesus knew what it felt like to have to wait for the right time. Between the time He knew and actually started His ministry was about 10 years. He ministered 3 years. In that 3 years He changed the world.
Then knowing what was coming, He had to decide to go through with it.
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup (death) from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Luke 22:42
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44
It was not the nails in His hands that held Jesus on the Cross,
but His love for you and me.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46
God had to turn His back,
Because He could not stand to see His son die.
But there was no other way for us to be redeemed.
Now it's our turn, Jesus said: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
He won't force us, He wants us to want to. That's why we have freedom of choice, God doesn't want puppets on a string, but a love by choice.
What will our choice be?

First of all, do you struggle with insecurity issues? Yes, unfortunately, I do. If yes, can you tell of a specific situation that happened to you that brought out your insecurities? When my stepfather sexually abused me, I felt so ashamed. I felt so dirty, like I was a lowly worm. All my self doubts, were magnified. I already had insecurities, and after the abuse happened, things got even worse. If you do struggle with insecurity, what do you believe is the root cause of your insecurity? I truly believe that the root cause of my insecurity, began when my parents got divorced. I was in the sixth grade, my dad had just came home from prison, then they told me they were getting a divorce. From that moment on, things went downhill. My dad remarried three different times, and my momma remarried. Neither one of them had much time for me anymore, I felt forgotten. They treated me like a yo yo, I would live with my momma, and then she would send me to live with dad, then with my sister, and then my brother. It was crazy!! Then, when I was finally back living with my momma, my stepfather sexually abused me. Momma did not believe me, and sent me to live with my sister again. So, that is where the root cause of my insecurity began.

My Story

LauraLee, at Selah ~ Pause.Ponder.Praise asks us to share our story of salvation. I wanted to share it here, too. It may help you get to know me better.
She asks some questions that I thought I'd answer and then share my whole testimony.
1)How old were you when someone first told you about Jesus? I was 10 years old when someone first told me about Jesus. My dad had just went to prison, and my momma was working third shift at a cotton mill. I was a very lonely&sad little girl, always felt lost. There was a lady named Sue Ledford, she lived next door to us. Everyday, when she came in from work, I would be sitting outside on the sidewalk, she never failed to speak to me. One day, she invited me in, she fixed us something to eat, and we laughed and talked for a long time. This became a regular routine for us, she became a dear friend to me. She invited me to church, and I went. She was a GIA leader(Girls In Action), so I became active in that. I felt God nudging my heart, and I talked to Sue about it. She asked me if I wanted to get saved, and I said yes. Well, she said she would talk to my momma about it. After the talk, my momma said no, I was to young to understand salvation. My little heart broke, but I never stopped thinking about Jesus. 2) When did you become open to the Gospel? As I said in the previous question, I was 10 years old. 3) What compelled you to give your life over to Jesus? We had a revival at church, there was a visiting preacher one night, his name was Doug Stone. He was such a Godly man, and he spoke such truth. Gods word was strongly coming out of his mouth, it was as if he was talking straight to my heart. It was awesome, I will never forget it. 4) What scriptures were particularly meaningful to you? Psalm 23, Philippians 4:13, and Psalm 139. 5) How do you think your life is different since you made Jesus the Lord of it? I am happier, content to live for Him, not for myself, or the world. I am free to be all I can in Jesus, shine His light for others to see. I am not perfect, but I am saved, washed clean by His precious blood, by His stripes I am healed, praise the Lord. My testimony: On July 2, 1989, at the age of 25, I gave my life to Jesus. I have never regretted it for one second, it was the best thing I ever did. He took my dirty rags, and replaced them with stainless, sparkling white garments. He took all the broken pieces of my life, that were scattered like a jigsaw puzzle, and began to sculpture a new life for me. He poured His love all over my life, and made it so much better. My walk with Him has not been perfect, I have made mistakes, and let Him down. But, He is always quick to pick me up, dust me off, and forgive me. He has never let me down, always built me up. My greatest treasure is my salvation. Thank You Lord.

Fearless Friday

Prayer Requests: 1) The unemployment people are giving us a very hard time, please pray that they will give Eddie his checks. 2) I have a Doctor appointment on Monday, please pray that it will go well. 3) Please pray for my sisters health.

Thankful Thursday-Epic Story

I am blessed beyond belief to be part of Gods epic story. He is the greatest author ever, and He chose to create me, and include me in His book. Then, I was invited personally by Him, to have my name included in the Lambs book of life. Now, I have a reservation to walk on the streets of gold, my name has been written down. Praise God, glory to His name. At the beginning of my conception, pills were taken to get rid of me, bleeding began, along with cramps. My momma thought she had passed me down the toilet, until 6 months later, I started kicking. God did not mean for my life to be flushed down into the sewer, He had plans, and a purpose for my life. Now, that is one epic story, and I am very grateful to be part of it. My life has had many ups and downs, twists and turns, but one thing has always remained, God, and His love for me. Thank You dear God for giving me a place in Your epic story of life. I love You.

“Refuse to be average.Let your heart soar as high as it will.”
by Aiden Wilson Tozer :Amen, we should refuse to be just average, or ordinary. We were created by the beautiful hands of the Potter, molded in His magnificent image. He created us, so that He could love us, and share fellowship with us. We are His sons and daughters, our Father is a King, so that makes us royalty. Embrace your family, the precious family of God. Being a part of this family, should cause your heart to soar high into the heavens, which will one day be your eternal home. Yes, refuse to be average, you are extraordinary in the Lord. This installment of In Other Words is hosted by Deborah on her blog, Chocolate & Coffee.

Question Of The Day

Here is the question of the day: How far would you travel for a bloggers retreat? What do you think would be a fair cost for such a great event?

Easter Frills And Thrills Blog Carnival

Mary said, I can't believe that He is risen from the grave, my Lord, my God, He's alive!! They rolled away the stone, there is nothing left, but an empty shroud. I can tell you, that the Lord is up and gone. Praise God. What a beautiful morning that must have been, hearts that were sorely grieving, instantly became hearts that were rejoicing. Where all hope had been stripped away, there was now an abundant supply. Hell, and all of the demons had been destroyed. He had stared death straight in the eye, and gloriously defeated it. My Saviour does not hang upon a cross, or lay in a tomb. My Saviour lives, and because of that, I can face my future securely, knowing, He will be with me.

Mission 4 Monday- Prevent Childhood Obesity

PREVENT CHILDHOOD OBESITY

Childhood obesity affects millions of children in the United States. These substantially overweight children are at increased risk of impairment or death due to type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Other risks include bone and joint problems, asthma, sleeping disorders (which can cause concentration problems in class), and emotional issues.
Overweight and
obese children often suffer at school from teasing about their appearance and stereotypes regarding their character, due to preconceptions that overweight children are "lazy" or "have no feelings".
Causes of childhood obesity include:
Reduced activity levels – With the time that children spend watching TV, using the computer and playing video games, they are getting less exercise.
Increased consumption of foods that are high in sugar and fat – Today's children eat as much as triple the amount of snack foods their counterparts were consuming just 20 years ago. In addition, there has been a doubling in their soft drink intake in that same time period.
To make matters worse, many fast food companies target children in their marketing campaigns and some schools offer soft drinks and junk food to students.
Fortunately, there is hope for obese children. With help and guidance from the adults in their lives, their weight and health can be improved.

Don't reward children with food. Candy and snacks as a reward encourage bad habits. Find other ways to celebrate good behavior.
Practice what you preach. If you're practicing healthy habits, it's a lot easier to convince children to do the same. Incorporate healthy activities into the time you spend with children. Take walks, ride bikes, go swimming, garden or just play hide-and-seek outside. Everyone will benefit from the exercise and the time together.
Encourage physical activities that children really enjoy. Remember that each child is unique and may have to experiment with many activities until he or she finds one that is enjoyable.
Limit TV, video game and computer time.
Help children develop a positive self image. Focus on the positives instead of the negatives. Everyone likes to be praised for a job well done.
Be an advocate for healthier children. Insist on good food choices at school cafeterias and vending machines.
Encourage school principals to offer more physical fitness opportunities.
Encourage obese children to participate in the
Alliance for a Healthier Generation program

Memory Verse Monday

This was my memory verse last Monday: Isaiah 40:28- Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints, nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.: These days are so filled with uncertainty and stress. People are so worried, and loaded down with burdens. The economy is on every ones mind, so many have lost their jobs. More people than ever, are dealing with high blood pressure. What can we do? Look up, your redemption is close at hand. God loves you, and He is more than willing to help you.He will not faint, or grow weary, as we tend to do. Turn your life totally over to the Lord, allow Him to carry you through the highs, and lows, that this world throws your way.

Question Of The Day

Here is todays question: If given the opportunity to meet fellow bloggers at a retreat with a special blogging speaker, worship, time shopping, fun, fellowship, and food, would you attend?

Super Simple Sunday

Flow Through Me!

~ * ~
But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;
but the water that I shall give him, shall be in him a well of water
springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14

Water represents the spirit of God.
Water needs a channel to flow through.
Even a river has a channel to flow through.
They build dams and canals to direct the water.
Water is piped into our houses and in canals.
To get a drink of water we need a vessel.
We get a drink from cups or glasses.

We need to be a vessel fit for the Master's use!
The vessel seldom gets credit for carrying the water.
Water might never get to it's destination without a vessel.
~ * ~
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meant for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2 Timothy 2:21

God is our Plumber!

Question Of The Day

Here is todays question: What is your favorite time of the year?

Cafe Chat

So, how can we be set free in Christ from our strongholds and struggles? : Last week, I shared that I struggle with self esteem issues. I can be set free from this by focusing on what God thinks of me, not what the world thinks. God created me, and He is a master artist. So, I am one of His many beautiful creations. "I have chosen you, and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:9&10)
Who am I? I am a woman greatly loved by God, He cares for me, I am His daughter. He loves me so much, that He willingly gave His only Son, to die for me. How can I ever doubt my worth again?

Question Of The Day

Here is todays question: Are you active in a church, or weekly Bible study with fellow believers?

Thankful Thursday

Hello everyone, time to count our blessings. I love Thankful Thursday. I want to thank Iris for hosting all these years, you did such a great job. I appreciate all the effort you put into this meme, you will be missed. I also would like to thank Lynn, and Laurie for stepping up, and volunteering to host Thankful Thursday, bless you both. Now, to count my blessings. I praise God for my brother in-laws salvation, he gave his life to the Lord today. He has been an alcoholic for years, we are praying that he never drinks again. I praise God for the wonderful news we received on Monday regarding lovebugs job. He gets to work five days next week, instead of four. I praise God for blessing me with opportunities to serve Him. This coming Sunday, I will no longer be going to my dads church, lovebug and I are going back to our old church Lighthouse. My dads church is just way too big, and I have no opportunity to serve. My dad was very understanding, he wants me to be where I feel comfortable, and can work for the Lord. I will visit his church on fathers day, and other occasions, and he said he is going to visit my church. My friend called me this week, and said Lighthouse needs volunteers for children's church, and they need Sunday school teachers. She and I are going to work in children's church together, and I am going to be a Sunday school teacher. I am so happy, I always loved teaching. I praise You Lord for allowing me the chance to teach again. I praise You Lord for this awesome life You have blessed me with, and I love You so very much.

In Other Words Tuesday

"God does not speak simply to be heard. He speaks to be obeyed.Obedience is the Alpha and Omega of discerning God’s voice.: We have got to stop being selfish, and depending on ourselves for everything. We need to take our eyes off of ourselves, and make God our total focus in life. We have to start obeying our Father, instead of being disobedient children. God should not have to repeat Himself over and over again. Once is more than enough, clean out your ears, listen when He speaks to you. As the song says, trust and obey, for there is no other way my friend.

Question Of The Day

Hello my friends, praying everyone is having a good day, basking in Gods love. I would like to ask a favor of you all. I am going to post a question of the day, each day this week. Marriage Monday- The Glory Of Christian Marriage

My marriage is such a source of happiness for me, it is my greatest achievement, my pride and joy. I love my husband more than mere words could ever express. I admire him greatly, and the admiration is very mutual. I am so grateful that God brought our hearts together, and He has never left us. His glory shines all over our marriage. I cannot imagine my life without my husband, and I pray I never have to face that reality. It is not Denise&Eddie, it is DeniseEddie. We have a connection that is unbreakable. I am thankful for each second I am blessed to spend with my husband.

Memory Verse Monday

This is my most recent memory verse: 2 Chronicles 7:14: If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then, I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land. We all need to humble ourselves, bow on our knees, confess our sins, and turn from all wickedness. We need to constantly seek Gods face, and do His will. He will hear our voice, and graciously forgive us of our sins. He loves us, and wants to heal our land.

Mission 4 Monday- Locks Of Love

LOCKS OF LOVE: DONATE YOUR PONYTAIL

Hair donation is a simple way to provide a child with
locks of love. If you have a ponytail that is 10 inches or longer, you can donate hair so a child who's lost theirs can look more like themselves.
Children undergoing chemotherapy, suffering from alopecia areata, or recuperating from scalp burns face multiple hurdles. In addition to the physical challenges of medical treatment, children also must combat low self-esteem and poor self-image from losing their hair. Oftentimes, bald children believe it necessary to hide their condition under hats and feel they stand out among other kids.
Your hair donations can be turned into natural-looking wigs for kids. On the other hand, synthetic wigs "look fake," like doll hair. Only donated human hair achieves a realistic, natural appearance.
When kids feel better about their appearance, they feel brighter about the outlook for their future. With renewed confidence, these children will go out in public again, without feeling self-conscious. They can look proudly in the mirror. They see themselves again.
A custom human-hair wig can cost more than a thousand dollars to make and is too expensive for many families. But, several non-profit groups are working with volunteers to make wigs for financially disadvantaged kids. To make this happen for a child, all you have to do is donate your ponytail, the next time you get a haircut.

First, you'll need to choose a charity that makes wigs for children. Here are a couple of the most popular hair donation organizations:
Locks of Love
Locks of Love is the most well-known hairpiece charity. Many people mistakenly believe that the wigs created by Locks of Love are given to children with cancer. Instead, most Locks of Love wigs go to kids with long-term hair loss. Children with conditions such as alopecia areata who will never grow their natural hair again are given first priority. Since most children who undergo chemotherapy will be able to grow their own hair again, a very limited number of human hair and synthetic wigs are given to children with cancer. You should be aware that it takes multiple hair donations to make a single wig and that Locks of Love sells a number of the hair donations it receives in order to fund its programs. Some families pay for their wigs based on their financial ability; the neediest are given their wig for free. You can send your hair donation by mail using Locks of Love's online hair donation form.
Wigs for Kids
Wigs for Kids gives hairpieces to kids who suffer hair loss due to burns, chemotherapy, radiation treatments alopecia, and other medical problems. Wigs for Kids sells hair donations it considers "unusable" in order to fund its programs. Families must demonstrate financial need in order to qualify for the program. Children who are accepted in the program are not charged for the wig that is created for them. You can send your hair donation by mail by using Wigs for Kids' online hair donation form.
Hair Donation Tips
For specific directions, please first review the recipient charity's website before cutting your hair, but here are some general guidelines to consider regarding hair donation:
10" minimum hair length (tip to tip)
You may pull curly hair straight to measure the minimum 10"
Bundle your hair in a ponytail or braid
Hair from men and women, young and old, and all colors and races are needed
Hair swept off the floor is unusable
Hair must not be bleached or over-processed
Hair cut years ago is usable if stored in a ponytail or braid
You may divide layered hair into multiple ponytails for donation
Anyone can cut your hair as long as the appropriate guidelines are followed
Natural human hair only; no wigs, extensions, or synthetic hair
Hair must be clean, dry, placed in a plastic bag, and then in a padded envelope
Some hair salons will offer
discounted prices when you donate hair to Locks of Love or Wigs for Kids and will mail the package for you as well.
Once you donate your ponytail, take time to celebrate. Every time you look in the mirror, you'll know that you've made a real difference in the life of a sick child.

Super Simple Sunday

It's Not Always What it Looks Like!
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20
Joseph was cast in the pit by his brothers, they were jealous of him.
Joseph was just living his life quietly.
He was very close to God, God even gave him visions.
He was excited to share what God had showed him, but his brothers misunderstood.
The Egyptian traders bought him and took him to Egypt.

God can make Good out of the Worst Things!

From slave to ruler
He was even falsely accused of having an affair with the rulers wife and thrown into prison for 3 years.
Joseph ended up saving his entire nation.
He had the choice spend his days complaining about how unfair life was or make the best of it!

Do We find Ourselves in a pit of Unfairness?

So if we find ourselves in a pit of unfairness.
Sickness, family problems, money problems, abuse, or any other we can think of, we have the same choice.
Just like Joseph, God can take that situation and turn it into a good thing!

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6
God never starts something He doesn't finish!
