Sunday Praise And Worship

If you are looking for a church, have a church home, or have thoughts of what makes a good church home, or just thoughts on this week’s “Praise and Worship”, I would love to hear from you for this weeks,”Sunday Praise and Worship”.: This is a subject very close to my heart. My husband and I have been really hurt by several different churches. I was able to get past it, but my husband had really strong feelings for quite awhile. He would not even consider going to another church. He would do devotions with me, and have prayer with me, and has never stopped loving the Lord, but church was totally out of the question. Well, praise the Lord, he recently told me that he is ready to start visiting some churches. He wants us to find a new church home, the Lord has been speaking to his heart about this. Please pray that God will lead us where He feels is best for us. I appreciate your prayers.

God bless you dear Sister and I am so sorry to hear what had happen.

I will keep you and him in our prayers as you go on your search for a church home...it is so difficult and emotional when looking for a church to be a part of and to grow in.

God bless you in your strong faith and just encouragement to keep pursuing Him!!

*Hugs* Love you!

Praise God that Eddie isn't going to let the enemy keep him from a church home any longer. It's tough, because as much as we'd like to think otherwise, churches are full of sinners. Sinners need grace. Sinners hurt one another. Sinners need forgiveness. We all need God. And the hardest thing? At least for me? I'm a sinner, too. Yes, I'm saved by grace, and I'm forgiven, but still...hardly perfect.

I pray that you and Eddie find a church where you both feel right at home. xxxooogretchen

Ohhhh Denise...I hear ya'! I'm so delighted that the Lord has pressed upon your husband's heart to go back in search of a church home. It's so wonderful though that he continued in the Lord with devotions and his walk
personally...but trust me, we need the Body of Christ...and there are good ones out there. I don't know where you live so I can't say for your area. Since I'm in Mexico, I so miss my home church! I have a church or more here, though one claims me and is offended if I visit others. But I have found
a church on the internet that
always lifts me up and they have services 3xs and 1 later in Spanish. 1 of the 3 is Sat. p.m.
I love that! I love their worship and they always encourage me! It's

I will pray that God opens the door for you both to find a place that can be a home church for YOU! God
is able! Stay open! And may HE find you in a body of believers that will mend past hurts! May Our Lord lead you and direct your path to a beacon of a church that speaks His Word and meets your needs!

Happy day in the Lord! Praising God! Blessings as you continue to bless others! 2008 is your best year yet to find a new church home!
Savior...You can move this mountain
Denis & her lovebug need the right place to rejoin the body of believers.

Oh I am so glad dear sister. I know you have been wanting this. I have found that God has led us to different chruches at different times becuase they meet a particular need we have at a particualr moment in our sanctification process or what is going on in our life. We went to a strict, some would say somewhat leaglistic church, for awhile but it served a purpose while we were raising up small children. Then God led us to branch out and seek out different cultures and seek more service oriented attitudes and more spirit filled worship. I don't see one as bad and the other as better...just different for different needs and places that the people attending are in at the moment they attend. We have been at three different churches in the last 16 years. We spend 5 years at one and ten years at the other and are just now reaching the one year mark for our current chruch. While I don't believe in "church hopping" I do think sometimes God leads you according to where you are and what He is teaching you and what your needs are in the moment. Hugs to you. Always praying dear sister.

bless you, I am so happy he is willing to do this with you. I have been in that same situation before. I believe we need the fellowship of other Christians but sometimes it is tough.

We have the same situation here shorty bear.
About 4-5 years ago now 3 churches hurt us really bad right in a row.
It was devestating for our family and our teen son now (which he was younger then) and hubby will not go to church.
I think about going but, I just can't bring myself to go alone and experience that by myself.
I read my bible at home, and to the kids, we sing praises, we talk about Jesus we have never stopped loving him, my hubby said he just can't do the church.
Please pray for our family.

Hugs,
Sheila

I'm so thankful the Lord has been working in his life regarding this issue! I understand those hurt feelings, we've been there. But the Lord wants us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, which means there is a group of Christ followers somewhere that you all will be able to worship with.

God bless you for your submissive attitude towards your love bug.

Church can be a tough place. All those sinners filled with their own hurt and bruised egos coming in to try to feel good about themselves. It is only natural that some people are going to get steamrolled and hurt.

Yet, the church can be a loving, supportive community if the Pastor and leadership team can get out of the way and keep the doors open for God to come in. It is the last best hope for this world. I pray you will find a church where that happens and that God will minister to you through the loving faces of new friends.

I am praying for you and Eddie. I do not really know what I can add that the others did not. There are some really sweet and encouraging thoughts posted here already.
But I do know how you feel. We were in the same position many years ago. And now someone very dear and near to me is in the same situation.
I guess the only thing I can add is to trust God with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. But in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path. And also in "his timing". I think that might be the hardest part.
So keep praying and keep trusting and keep allowing God to use sisters (and brothers too) to give you hugs and encouragement.
Thank you so much for your prayers and your encouragement. Your sweet comments are a really Blessing to my day as I continue on my journey.
Hugs,
Sherry
