The Year Of Romance-March

I remember growing up in a home where there was constant chaos. My dad was always coming home very late, and very drunk. My momma would wait up for him, as soon as he came in, the fighting began. He would beat her, sometimes the police came, sometimes they did not come. I remember being in the bed with my momma one night when my dad came in, pulled her out of the bed, dragged her all the way out of the house, and down the graveled driveway by the hair of her head. All she had on was a slip, and panties. From that day on, she lived with a bald spot. He beat her when she was pregnant, even tried to push her out of a window. I remember him shooting at her, cussing her constantly, and always being so disrespectful to her. I was scared that one day, I would be married to a man who would abuse me. Praise God for blessing me with my lovebug. He is the exact opposite of my dad. My husband loves me unconditionally, and with all of his heart, soul, body, and mind. I am written on his heart, and he is written on my heart. We are soul mates, and best friends. He would never hurt me, or let anyone else hurt me. He would lay down his very life for me, and I would for him. When I am sick, he takes such good care of me. He is always more than willing to help me clean the house, cook, do laundry, anything I may need help with. Since my eyes have become so bad, he has become my guide. He never disrespects me, and will not let anyone else show disrespect to me. My momma loved my dad with all of her heart, respected him, honored him. But, dad did none of those things, their marriage was one sided. I am so grateful that my marriage consist of two people that mutually love, honor, respect, adore, and appreciate each other. We are each others biggest fan, and always will be. So, even though I was not raised by parents that were a good example of marriage, God taught me the true definition of marriage, when He joined my heart, with my lovebugs heart. Thank You my dear Father, I love you.

Denise, that is so awesome! I have a niece getting married in May and I wonder, because her husband to be comes from a very disfunctional family (no good role models). Your story gives me hope for them! God can do amazing things! I'm so glad you have your lovebug!

Denise, this reminds me of the Easter story. Painful, brutal, but in the end TRIUMPH! It makes me so sad to know what your mother went through and you children. Yet, it is a testement to the power of God to reach into a painfilled life and bring out healing, love and wholeness!

You my friend and your sweet husband are a living breathing testimony, a trophy, to the glory and power of God to help people live beyond themselves.

Beautiful, beautiful post. I am sooooo very glad that God brought you two together! I am so very glad that you broke the cycle in your family, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to know that either your Mama or someone in your family prayed, long for that very thing!

God bless you!
Maria

I praise God for giving you a man who can love you unconditionally.
I am so sorry you had to go through what you went through. That you had to see your Mom treated in such a horrible way.
I am thankful for your relationship with God--sometimes it is hard for a person to see Him as a Father when their earthly father was not Godly.
I pray God continues to bind you and Eddie together.

It's interesting that you say that your husband is written on your heart and you on his. That is exactly right with true soulmates, their light is intertwined with many memories of previous existences and they are linked at the heart through God's first creative miracle--the twin soul signature. Glad you found your soulmate I think you would love my book, Divine Complement. It explains the signature at the heart and soul of soulmate relationships and is based on many many interviews of soulmates who found eachother in magical and meaningful ways. Go to my site at http://www.ariadnegreen.com to read about my book.
And God blesses you and your beloved,
Ariadne

This is exactly how my mother lived when she was young too. My grandmother was always being beat up. I was there several times when it happened too and will never forget it. Mother decided like you that she would NEVER marry a man like that. She did good and in a way broke the chain of bad things in our family. I married wonderfully too!! Those are awful memories. i know..Sandy
