Today, I would like to share another precious miracle of Gods love. I always wanted to be a mother, and for 16 years, I tried to become one. Due to health problems, it was not meant to be. In 2000, at the age of 36, I had to have a total hysterectomy. Needless to say, I was heartbroken, and devastated over this. I did not understand why this was happening to me, was God mad at me? Was I being punished for something? Fast forward to 2003, my dear momma moved in with us. I was very happy about this, she had a stroke in 1999, I felt better knowing she was with me. Everything was going so great, until 2005, my momma's health started quickly going down hill. We were constantly having to take her to either doctor appointments, the emergency room, or she would have to stay in the hospital. Bless her heart, she had so many different health problems. She had high blood pressure, a seizure disorder, heart problems, stomach problems, and then her kidneys started failing. While she was in the hospital in March of 2006, the doctor told me that she was dying. He asked me if I wanted to put her in a home, I said yes, my home. He told me that she had six months, maybe a little bit longer. We brought her home on March 21, she passed away on April 21. I was here by myself when it happened, I will never forget it. But, I praise God for letting me be my momma's caregiver. It was such an honor to take care of her, oh the precious moments we shared. So, you see, God did not punish me by not letting me become a mother, He had other plans for me. He knew my momma was going to need all of my love, time, and attention. Miracles are all around , if only we look with our hearts, as well, as with our eyes.

Your mom is lucky to have you! Thanks for sharing! Blessings today :-)
Thank you for sharing that. I'm so glad you were able to be there for your Mom.
I love your closing statement too. "Miracles are all around , if only we look with our hearts, as well as with our eyes. It just sums things up wonderfully, not that there isn't hurt or pain in life, but God still knows what we need and when. He will work through all of life's troubles and hardships as we trust in Him. He IS a God of miracles! God bless my friend.
i somehow knew how you must have felt wanting so much to be a mom. i feel the same way too. i pray to God that He'll heal my marriage so we can start being a family again...
Hey girl--you do have the heart of a caregiver.
Out of a loving heart comes care freely given.
I have a little something for you at my blog. Play if you want. :)
You always inspire me my friend!
Blessings
What a wonderful post! I love how you realized that God had different plans for you than you wanted and that you know it was a miracle!
And you are right, miracles are all around us but we must look with our hearts! Thank you for that reminder!
You know, sometimes I get angry that God chose for me a man that did not want to have children. I prayed and prayed that Brian would leave, or God would reveal to me that he wasn't the one for me because all my life the only things I wanted to be in life were a teacher, mother, and wife. And then God chose for me a man that didn't want children! But now...I completely understand why. I love Brians mother so much. She is my hero and role model and the mother I missed growing up in the sense of someone to talk to, love on, and be loved by. And with all her health problems, we will eventually be having her move in with us. Similar situation as you have. Additionally, God has me being a teacher to children every day - kind of like a second mother to them. And I know that I need to devote my whole heart to making sure that they get the best education from me possible - and that will take all that I am. So, yes, God ALWAYS has bigger and better plans than we thought we should have :)
Beautiful words written. I am so happy that God could see ahead of you. Sometimes it is hard to remember this. I am glad you got to care for your momma when she was sick.
All God's plans are good for us! So glad you and your Momma had that time together!
