Tuesday Afternoon

What a day it was precious friends. Yesterday, I had to drink the prep for my colonoscopy, and endoscopy. In between drinking the juice straight from hell, lol All I could have was liquids. I arrived at the hospital this morning at 10 A.M.  Went straight to registration, filled at a ton of paperwork. Then, they took me to endoscopy registration, put a wristband on me, and took me back to get me ready. The nurse came in, took my blood pressure, started an I.V. and asked me about my medications, and medical history. Then, the
anesthesiologist came in, really sweet lady. She asked me several questions, and listened to my breathing. She asked if I was having trouble breathing. I told her yes, she said there was a crackling in my chest. So, they had me do a breathing treatment. Then, they checked my blood sugar, it was 506. The anesthesiologist went to talk to my doctor. When she came back, he was with her, they told me they would not be able to do the procedure, due to my high blood sugar. They said it would be to dangerous .They sent me down to the emergency room, where they put me on a drip, and gave me insulin. I had to stay there for hours, until my blood sugar got down to 250. I am now home, still remain on a liquid diet. Have to be back at the hospital in the morning at 9:30 A.M.  He will be doing the procedures in the morning. So, that was my Tuesday afternoon.

Oh my, I'm so sorry that happened to you. Glad they noticed those things and hopefully you can get your sugars under control. I can't believe you will have to drink that nasty stuff again!! I was so nervous about my very first colonoscopy in February this year and what I found out is that it was a breeze compared to the prep work. Take care.....
