Soulfood Friday

Oh my friends, my soul got fed to overflowing yesterday afternoon. Eddie and I went to the meat market to get some hamburger for cheeseburgers, and meatloaf. When we first walked in, there was a young lady standing at the front of the store, she smiled a beautiful smile at me, and said hello. I smiled back at her, and said hello. Eddie and I went to the meat case, and started looking at the hamburger, I never saw her again, she left the store. When we finally made our choice, got our hamburger, and got up to the register, the nice lady at the register said, did you happen to see that young lady standing up front, when you came in the door?  I said, yes, I sure did. She said, that was my niece, and she told me that the Lord laid it on her heart, to pay for your purchase today. I said, what? Then, she continued to say, that her niece also wanted us to get whatever else we wanted, pork chops, chicken, steak, roast, etc. She said, you can pick it out today, or I will give you a gift certificate. She gave us a gift certificate for $50.00 I started crying, I could barely talk. I kept saying, bless her heart. I said, can I give you a hug, since, I cannot give her one, she came around the counter, and I gave her a huge hug. Wherever that precious young lady is, I pray that God pours blessings all over her sweet heart.

We need more people in the world like this! God will indeed bless her heart, we can be sure of this.

I would like to share with you my story, if you don't mind. Last night I had a knock at my door. It was the homeowners (I rent the basement apartment in their house). They had a large plastic zip-lock bag with lots of lamb in it!!! I had tears in my eyes as I expressed my gratitude to them! Lamb is my favourite meat but I never purchase it as I just don't have the money to and am on a really low budget. God blesses us in ways that we don't know. Sending you a warm hug.

What a wonderful testimony of God's never-ending provision for his children. There's something special, though, about these surprises that God gives to us. It was a blessing to the giver and the receiver and the woman who told you about it...as well as to all of us who read of it. May God be praised! Have a blessed weekend, Denise.
