Day 21-Praying For My Husband

I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.” - Acts 13:22

David is described, as a man after God’s own heart. He was a man with a hot passion for the presence of God in his life. At the same time, David wasn’t perfect. In fact he had his share of failures. He had a man killed because he had slept with his wife. This is not exactly what comes to mind for someone “after” God’s heart.

A man after God’s heart is not a perfect man, he is a man who sees his sin, deals with his sin, and then gets back to the job of following after God. He is a man who doesn’t get bogged down in the things of the world because his heart is set at knowing and serving the living God.

A man after God’s heart is one who does what God has told him to do. He is obedient to God.

As you pray for your husband today, pray that he will become a man after God’s heart. When he fails, pray that he sees his sin, deals with his sin, then gets back up and runs after God. Pray that he will be a man who does all God wants him to do.

Father, I pray that eddiewill develop a heart that hungers after You. I pray that You will work in him to help him follow after You. I pray he will continually walk in obedience to You. When he falls, help him to confess his sin, leave it behind, and seek after You. I pray that he doesn’t get distracted by all the things of this world, but is a man who is after Your heart.

eddie, today I am praying that God develops within you a heart for Him. I am praying that you will be like King David, who was a man after God’s own heart.
