Day 13-Praying For My Husband

“Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.” - James 3:2 (NLT)
How many times have we said something, and then wished we could take it back? James tells us that even though the tongue is very small, it can create very big problems. How many problems would be eliminated if we just learned to control our tongue? Jesus said that out of the heart, the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:34) God has given each of us a new heart and a new spirit. To bring glory to God in our speech, we need to learn to speak out of the new heart God has given us.

James makes the statement that if we can learn to control our mouth, we can control every area of our life. If we will allow Christ to have complete control of our speech, allowing Him control of other areas of our life will be possible. Jesus has given us a new heart; therefore, our speech should be a reflection of that new work in us.

Today, as you pray for your husband, pray that he will allow the Lord Jesus to control His speech. Pray that every word he speaks will bring glory and honor to God.

Father, today allow eddie to bring glory to You with every word he speaks. I pray that he will allow You to control his speech from the first word this morning to the last word of the day. Thank You for giving him a new heart. I pray that he will speak from the new heart You have created in him. Help him to guard each word so that his every word will bring glory and honor to You.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

eddie, today I am praying that you allow Christ to control every word you speak. It is my prayer that your speech will be a reflection of all God has done in your heart and life. I am praying that every word you speak today will bring glory and honor to Jesus. love, denise

Thank you for the post, Denise. What a fickle little organ the tongue is! Sometimes I open my mouth and when I hear what comes out I just want to clamp my hand over my mouth or turn back the hands of time. I pray that God would take control of my tongue.

What a wonderful prayer said for your husband, Denise! It is so important that we pray for our husbands to be all that God has called them to be! Praying that your time together on Sundays will be Spirit-filled and productive in growing together in His love!
