Rise My Friend, Rise

Mike, my sweet friend, passed over into eternity Tuesday night(September 25th) after courageously battling brain cancer. He was only 49, and had been married to his precious wife Michelle for 27 years. I met this wonderful couple, at the first church Eddie and I ever attended, Lighthouse Baptist. Mike always made me smile, and giggle. He was such a good man, never met a stranger. He would help anyone, anyway he possibly could. Unfortunately, life took us our separate ways, as it often does. I had not seen him, in several years. Tonight, at the visitation, I was blessed to see several of my old friends. My heart was filled to overflowing, so many happy memories. My best friend Leanna, who passed away in 1993 from heart problems, had a nephew named Lee Anthony. The last time I saw him, he was three years old. Michelle is his cousin, he was there tonight. He remembered me!! He came up to me, and gave me great big hugs, my heart smiled really big. Lord, thank You for this reunion of sweet friends tonight, I very much needed this. Bless each of them extra sweetly. Please be close to Michelle, help her during this time of heartache. Thanks for blessing my life with a friend like Mike. I am so glad he will no longer be in pain, but, I will sure miss my friend. Our loss, is definitely Your gain. As the tears fall from my eyes tonight, please let the precious memories flood my soul, and bring a smile to my face. Goodbye Mike. Rise my friend, rise. No more sorrow, no more pain. I love you, always.

I see now why my post touched you too. The one I wrote about just died on the same day as your Mike. I'm glad there was some healing joy there for you too that night. I pray God's words of healing over you (as I do for myself) in your own health... by his wounds we are healed. By the word of our testimony and the blood of the lamb, we are healed. And... he heals all my diseases...
