Scars

We all have scars of various sizes, and shapes. Some are on the outside, and some are on the inside. Some of us spend quite a bit of time, and sometimes money, trying to hide our scars, or totally remove them. Not me, I choose to leave my scars right where they are, for the world to see. Am I proud of them? No, of course not, but neither am I ashamed of them. If I had spent my entire life, living a perfect life, never facing any battles, or receiving any battle scars, what type of lessons would I have learned? I am glad that I have faced many battles, walked through many fires, climbed many mountains. During those times, I truly learned what I was made of, but, more importantly, I was reassured of Who made me.My dear Saviour carries the scars upon His body, from where He took the nails for me, He bled for me!! The least I can do, is fight my way through the battles that satan may throw my way, and be willing to accept the scars that may remain after the battles. Battle on my warrior brothers and sisters, battle on. Victory will be ours, satan will be defeated!!

Such an excellent post, Denise! Contrary to popular TV evangelists, Jesus did not promise us a perfect, wonderful life...here. We are to 'take up our cross and follow Him.' I hope many will be encouraged by this post!

AND, love the pic of you and Coco. Nothing sweeter than a puppy♥♥♥

Thanks Denise! I don't think I could write so much about God's goodness and grace if I hadn't experienced it in my own life. I was verbally abused all my growing up years by my older sibling, but God helped heal my memories and today there is friendship with my now adult sibling. But even if there wasn't, I would be fine with what God is doing in me. And like you said, there are many mountains to climb and this was just one of my own examples. God bless you!

God uses those battles and difficulties to grow us. When we come out on the other side of the battle it is always amazing to see the work God is doing in us.

I remember reading Heaven is For Real and being awed that the little boy reported Jesus to still have his scars on his hands and feet. That changed the way I look at mine! Keep pressing on, friend!
