On Your Heart Tuesdays

Today, I am linking up with http://www.shandaoakleyinspires.com/p/on-your-heart-tuesdays.  What is on my heart today? True colors. Are your true colors, beautiful like a rainbow, or is there quite a bit of darkness in your true colors?  Please know, that this post is not meant to offend anyone, I never want to do that. I am just speaking my mind, and expressing my feelings. But, if it makes you think a little bit, that is just an added bonus my friends. Do you have any hidden prejudices against anyone? Recently, a dear friend of mine, received a beautiful new addition to her family. Her youngest son got married, and gave my friend, a precious gift, her lovely daughter in-love.  My friend, was quite shocked, when her son first started dating JoJo. They met at the Christian college they both attended, both shared a great love for Jesus, and music. The only difference, Tobin, her son, is white, and JoJo is black. That definitely raised some eyebrows in the family. But, praise God, the family stood together, and overcame their prejudices, and gladly welcomed JoJo into the family. Several months ago, they welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. They are both serving as music directors at their church, and are so happy. I love them both. My question, why the prejudices? God loves us all, He sees no color. In my opinion love has no color. I have always loved the song"Jesus loves the little children." Red&yellow, black&white, they are all precious in His sight. Well, guess what, children grow up, to become adults. Jesus loves all adults, regardless of color, race, or nationality. You have no right to choose only your own color, race, or nationality to love, not if you are truly living a Christian life. God is love, and He is living within us. We are to love, and accept everyone.  I beg you, do not be color blind. Spread the love of Jesus to everyone, the world is such a beautifully blended rainbow. Enjoy!!

I completely agree. I'm east indian and sometimes my brothers and I get unnecessary comments because we're brown. While most people treat us great, some are unwilling to let go of prejudices. Glad Jesus loves us all despite our color :)

Prejudice is one of the sickest robbery of love and joy the defeated one came up with. We now live very close to an inner city and I love that my kids do not see color, in fact I'm taken aback when I return to where we used to live and show class pictures and people remark at the diversity. I've done a lot of reading and those who shared experiencing a vision or visitation with Jesus---He does not look like the white, American Jesus we paint Him to be. He looks as He should given His roots---middle Eastern. I can't wait to find out myself. :)

So very true. And prejudice is learned. If you watch young children, they don't even notice the color of someone's skin. They're much more concerned with how the person acts.

I can honestly say, color doesn't matter to me. I think because it DOES matter to some, we need to prepare our kids and always use Scripture as our guide to how to treat others.

It is sad that this kind of prejudice has not gotten away...So many hateful racial crimes happening. I am glad you're reminding us today to examine our hearts because in reality, we're all the same in the eyes of the Lord Who loves us all, no matter what color...No matter what background. God bless.

Prejudices are not good and are very unfair, but sometimes we find it hard to get rid of them.

It confounds me as well! We are in a multi-cultural church now, and I wouldn't have it any other way! It's a little taste of heaven here on earth.

I probably have some prejudices, not ones of color but regarding other differences. Oh to love better! It's the overriding prayer of my heart.

Beautiful thoughts on this timily subject. I believe that we are all Heavenly Father's children and he loves us all no matter what. I hate all of the prejudice struggles in the world.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Blessings to you1

Amen! I completely agree. The problem is some of these prejudices are passed down from older family members to the younger generations, regardless if these younger ones agree or not there is still that fear of going against the family. Love is color blind and I hope that more young people will realize this and take a stand for what they believe in.
