On Your Heart Tuesdays
Today, I am linking up with http://www.shandaoakleyinspires.com/p/on-your-heart-tuesdays.html What is on my heart this week? My body, otherwise known as the temple of God. God dwells in our physical bodies, and calls them His temple. Our bodies, like temples, are sacred sites where God dwells. I do not know about you, but I have not been treating my temple very well. I call myself a Christian(Christ Within Me), but I truly wonder, if by looking at me, can others see Christ? Or, do they see, a couch potatoe? Seriously, the most exercise I get is pounding away on my computer keyboard, or cleaning the apartment. Give me a break!! Talking about being a couch potatoe, makes me think about a loaded baked potatoe, with a delicious steak for dinner. I am a type 1 diabetic, which is a serious disease. My diabetes was the cause of my stroke back in September, due to my blood sugars running high for so long. Diabetics need to follow a healthy diet, and it is very important to count your carbs at each meal. Also, you need to maintain a healthy weight. Have I been doing these things?? No!! Should I have been doing these things?? Yes!! Why? Number 1, because, my body does not actually belong to me. It belongs to God, one of His temples. A holy place, where He honors me, by choosing to dwell. It is my responsibility to honor Him, by keeping His temple, clean and healthy. Number 2, God has saved my life, more than once. The least I can do, for the rest of my life, is to show Him, how very thankful I am, for my life. I have started a 90 Day Fitness Challenge, exercising daily, and dieting. Counting those carbs with each meal, no more than 50 with each meal. No snacks, and drinking only water. I am determined to keep my temple, clean and healthy. My husband and I, cleaned out our junk room last week, to prepare it to be an exercise room for me. I hung up a dry erase board in the room, and wrote on it in great big letters, "God's Gym" Open 24/7

Great steps in the right direction, Denise. Praying for your continued commitment to good health.
Blessings to you! Thanks for the reminder about body (temple) care. I've been working on more disciplined eating, but need also to be more active -- and all that clacking away at the keyboard doesn't count. Just taking one thing at a time, that's next.
Thanks for stopping by my place...blessings as you start your exercise program...
Nice post, Denise! We all can use the admonition to treat our bodies with healthful food, water, and exercise. Now I need to push away from this keyboard!
Blessings!♥
Nice words. I wish you much happiness.
Wow, good luck on your 90 day challenge! That is impressive. And I agree, we need to take care of our bodies as truly God's temple.
YOU GO GIRL!!!
I love you Denise and you are a beautiful temple of God!
As you clean and get healthy, God is delighted and this is one of the best heartfelt decisions and post I have read from you (written just like your videos are spoken...sounds just like you with a beautiful heart and spirit for God)
I can see Him SMILING real big and CHRIST WITHIN YOU shining His light... love what's on your heart and encouraged by your early spring cleaning in the most important place!!!

May God be with you each step of the way through the next 90 days and beyond that. Love, prayer and hugs, AE

Praying for you, sweet friend. Love and Hugs ~
I'd do well to take your lead. Taking care of my temple is such an important component of the Christian life. Sadly, it is the one component most often overlooked or set aside. I'm going to check out this resource you mentioned.

I think we can all relate to your words Denise. I need to commit to exercising myself, even if only for 10 minutes of dancing a day :) Please keep me updated on your progress, perhaps we can encourage one another? :)
