Marriage Monday

This month's topic is "He speaks," a revealing interview with your husband about what he thinks about Christmas. Lovebug was very sweet, and agreed to do an interview with me, thank you sweetie. Question number 1: What is your ideal Christmas gift? His answer: You, and all the love and joy you bring to my heart daily. Question number 2: What do you like least about Christmas? His answer: All the commercialism. Question number 3: What is the one gift you would really like to give to someone? His answer: I would love to restore your health back to you. Question number 4: What is the main reason for Christmas? His answer: To celebrate the birth of our dear Saviour, we all need to remember this, it is so very important. Now you see just why I love my lovebug so very much.

Growing Up Mondays- Why We Should Attend Church

Going to church is a visible, tangible expression of our love and worship toward God. It is where we can gather with other believers to publicly bear witness of our faith and trust in God, something that is required of all Christians (Matt. 10:32-33) -- and it is where we can bring Him offerings of praise, thanks, and honor, which are pleasing to Him. The psalmist wrote, "I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You" (Psa. 22:22). People are often motivated toward church attendance for how it will bless themselves, however we should remember that the primary purpose of the corporate gathering is to bring "service" to the Lord as a blessing to Him (Psa. 134:2). Indeed, the Lord is deserving of our time and energy to honor Him with our service of devotion. "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created" (Rev. 4:11).

Friday Date Night- Birthday Date

Today was my birthday, woo hoo!! My lovebug spoiled me really good. I had a date all day, and into the night. He took today as one of his off days, so that he could celebrate my birthday with me. He woke me up this morning by singing happy birthday to me, and serving me a big mug of hot chocolate in bed. Then, he took me to the IHOP for a wonderful birthday breakfast. When we got back home, he danced me all over the living room, then we snuggled on the couch for awhile. Then, it was off to my favorite book store Lifeway, where he let me pick out some birthday goodies. After that, we went to target, and Kohl's, just looking around. He took me out for a delicious birthday dinner at Golden Corral. When we got home, he ran me a warm bubble bath, lit some candles, had wonderful music playing, and let me just soak. When I got out of the tub, he led me into the kitchen, where he had a beautiful birthday cake, and ice cream waiting. My lovebug truly out did his self once again. I am beyond blessed, thanks for another awesome birthday date lovebug.

Thankful Thursday- Life

This coming Friday, November 20, will be my birthday. I will be 46 years old, praise God. I know so many people that do not want others to know how old they are, especially women. But, I am happy to share my age. I am happy for everyday that God blesses me with. You see, I was an attempted abortion that did not work. My parents thought I was gone, until one night, several months after they thought I had died, my momma felt me kicking inside of her. Talk about being totally surprised. My momma had taken an entire bottle of pills that were given to her by a doctor, they were suppose to cause her to lose me. She started bleeding very heavily, and she truly thought she had succeeded at getting rid of me. But, my God had other plans. (Jeremiah 29:11) Has my life been burden free? No, I was born with several birth defects, and they affected my life greatly. I have had to deal with several emotional, as well as physical problems, and continue to. But, that is quite alright with me, we all have our burdens to bear. I praise God for the life, and the love He has blessed me with. I will never be able to repay Him for the kindnesses He has shown to me, but I will tell everyone I can of the day back in November 1963, when He saved my life. Because He lives, I live. Thank You Lord, for all the birthdays You have gifted me with. I am forever grateful.

Growing Up Mondays

Jesus said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this, My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples" (John 15:7-8 NKJV). To glorify God by growing spiritually and bearing fruit, we need to know how to abide in Him, and let His Words abide in us.

God's Word abides in you, as you daily read the Bible, think about it, pray according to it, and live it. As you abide in Him, you literally begin to think like God thinks, and look at situations from His point of view. You go from just reading His Word, to understanding it. It becomes a part of you.

The Word of God is "alive and powerful" (Hebrews 4:12), and it has the ability to change you. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God" (NKJV). The word "transformed" used here refers to metamorphosis. It implies that like a caterpillar grows into a butterfly, we grow spiritually stronger, as we renew our minds with the Word of God.

Friday Date Night- Park Night

Update from last weeks date night, which was game night. I won, woo hoo!! So, the next time we have game night, lovebug will be cooking for me. I love it!! Now, to share another date night. We call it park night. We pack a picnic basket filled with some of our favorite snack foods, such as: cheese and crackers, cookies, fruit, chips, and sandwiches. We also take a cooler filled with bottled water, fruit juice, and of course lovebugs sprite. We grab our blanket, and away we go. We go to a different park each time, there are several here to pick from. Once we get there, we go for a walk. The parks are all so lovely. We love walking around, holding hands, and talking. Then, we find the perfect spot, lay our blanket down, and get out our goodie basket. We enjoy feeding each other. When we are done, and we have cleaned up all the goodies. We read the Bible aloud to each other, and do couples devotion time. It is so awesome to spend time out in God's beautiful world together. On the way home, we stop for hot chocolate, yummy!!

30 Days Of Thanksgiving- Day 13

Day 13- I am thankful for the cleansing blood of Jesus. It washed me white as snow, my sins are gone.

Thankful Thursday On Friday

This week, I am thankful for my husband's job. There are so many without a job, and my heart hurts for all of you. May God provide you with work, and financial blessings very soon. Last year, we went through some rough financial times, and once again, we are facing some tight crunch times financially. My lovebug will be out of work for a week during thanksgiving, and two weeks at Christmas, but the bills still keep rolling in as we all know. We are not going to get depressed, or stressed out, we are laying our needs at the precious feet of Jesus. We know that He will meet our needs, He is our provider. This year has been so hard economically on everyone, and now, the holidays are here. We are not going to be able to buy gifts for each other, or anyone else. But, that is ok. Jesus is the reason for the season. We are going to bake a birthday cake for Him, sing songs to Him, read the Christmas story aloud, and celebrate Him. There are so many things you can do for Christmas without spending money, money, and more money. Be creative, give gifts straight from your heart. Give people your time, make some gifts with your own hands. Write letters, or poems. Bake someone a cake, or cookies. Give your smiles, laughter, friendship, and love away. Come on everybody, let's get back to the basics of life this Christmas. Give Jesus away, He is the greatest gift ever.

Growing Up Mondays- How To Support Your Pastor

Roll up your Sleeves and Become a Part of the Team – Attend church faithfully, and show that you're eager to follow his leadership. This will bless your life, and be a tremendous encouragement to your pastor. Look for opportunities to use your gifts and talents for the work of Christ. And become a soul winner. People all around us are lost in sin, dying and going to hell. Do all in your power to win them to Jesus Christ. Tell them what Christ has done for you, and what He can do for them. "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and cover a multitude of sins." (James 5:19-20)

Thankful Thursday- Trials

Thank you dear Iris for hosting thankful thursday this month. This week, she has chosen the theme trials. Lord knows, we have all had our share of trials. Some , more than others. There are various types of trials, such as physical, financial, spiritual, relational, and on and on. When we go through trials, we cannot let them take over our life. I always like to say that I have health problems, but the health problems do not have me. I refuse to let them rule my life, or take over. Only God rules my life, and reigns supreme. Yes, I have been through various trials in my life, such as being an attempted abortion, sexual abuse, taking care of my mom and watching her die, depression, self mutilation, losing my big brother to his diabetes last year, and various health problems. But, instead of wallowing in self pity, I choose to give glory to God. I have learned so much in my trials. I have learned to trust my Father God more and more. He is my Rock, my true Physician, my Healer. His grace is more than sufficient, He is my Burden Bearer. I can do all things through Him, that pours His strength into me daily. When I am weak, He carries me. My lovebug recently told me that I was his beautiful rose, slightly bent from the storms I have endured throughout my life, but beautiful due to the way I have come through those storms. I sure do love my lovebug. When my petals bend, and a thorn cuts into me, and I begin to bleed and enter into a new trial, I do not complain. For when I go through a trial, I experience just a tiny bit of pain compared to what my Saviour endured for me. I pray that my trials will always bring me just a little bit closer to my Father, whom I love, and appreciate more each day.

Marriage Monday

This months topic is a love letter to our husband. So, here is mine. To my dear lovebug, before you came into my life, and blessed me by making me your wife, my life was a lonely place. My heart had been broken so many times, by so many different people. I had so many battle scars, deep inside my heart and soul. When we met, I was only 21, but due to circumstances in my life, I felt much older. I felt like no one would ever love me, or want to marry me.I was severely broken. But, you my precious one, saw through all the broken pieces, to the real me, the whole me. You totally swept me off my feet, and 25 years later, you still sweep me away to beautiful places filled with only us, and our love. You are my knight in shining armour, Mi Amour. You are my maestro, that knows the song that plays deep in my heart, because you placed it there with your precious, eternal love. You are the burning flame, that will forever burn bright in my heart and soul. Wherever you are, I will be also. I love you my dear lovebug.

30 Days Of Thanksgiving- Day 2

Day 2- I am very thankful for my husband, otherwise known as lovebug. I praise God for bringing us together, and keeping us together, for almost 25 years.

Growing Up Mondays

It has been wisely said, "The church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints." Regular fellowship, and participation in the church for a disciple cannot be overemphasized. As you come to church, and find your place in it, you will then be in a position to give to others, what God has given to you.

The church that is right for you, will be a place where you can grow in your love for the Lord, and serve Him, by contributing to the life of the church. Remember, we are all sinners doing our best to follow God's teaching. Rely on Him, to show you the way.

Remember, that the model for a God-honoring church is in the Scriptures. Study God's design, and pray to be led to the place He has prepared for you. God bless you, as you grow in your faithfulness

30 Days Of Thanksgiving- Day 1

Karla is challenging us to 30 days of thanksgiving. If you would like to do so too, visit Karla. Today, I am very thankful for my salvation.

More Of Him, Less Of Me

Dear Heavenly Father, I want more, more, more of You, and less of me, much less. I want to breathe You in deeply, and blow out the impurities of this world. I want to serve You, not man. Please know that I love You, with everything I am. Thank You for loving me, I am forever grateful.
