Church Yesterday

Hello sweet friends, hope you all enjoyed your Fathers Day, I sure did. Yesterday was a day of praising my heavenly, and earthly father. My dad went to church with me last night, it was so awesome. We enjoyed an hour of praise and worship time, then we went over to our gym for a time of fellowship. There were so many delicious pies, and home made ice cream. After everyone had filled their tummies, pastor Fred said that anyone who would like to share something about their dad could come up front to the microphone and speak. Several people shared such precious tributes to their dads. I went up, and spoke about my dad, and dear lovebug. First, I spoke about my dad. I told him how much I loved him, and how proud I was of him for the changes he had made in his life, especially for asking God into his heart. I told him I was so happy to have him in my life. Then, I told dear lovebug how very much I loved him. I told him that even though he is not a father, he deserved to be honored. I told him that he had shown me throughout our 24 years of marriage, what a wonderful father he would have been. The way he treated my momma, the way he loves me, and always takes care of me when I am sick. Any boy, or girl, would have been truly blessed to have him as their father. Thank You Father, I really enjoyed yesterday. I love You.

I always love your Monday/Sunday updates. But before I go into how much they bless me let me say thanks for coming by and leaving a sweet comment after I posted the cake photos. I was still playing around with it and BTW the dirty bib (I didn't realize it looked that bad!) was covered in green beans and carrots that he was feeding himself. Oh sorry this is getting long. But I wanted to tell you what a Blessing your Monday posts are. And to let you know how Blessed you are that you have such a wonderful church. We have been worshipping in our church for almost 5 years now. We went there because it was a traditional Baptist church and in many ways it still is but they have stopped having Sunday night services. The don't Wed. services in the summer. I don't know of any churches near me that still have Sunday night. Dear sister I know you know how Blessed you are. Thanks for sharing your worship.
Hugs,
Sherry

That was a sweet tribute you gave to your father and hubby. I feel the same way, fatherhood is not only about having kids, because I know a lot of guys who have that loving ways in them though they don't have children. I agree that your hubby is the same. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time with our Father, and your 2 special men!

What a wonderful idea - to have that fellowship honoring fathers after church. It is wonderful that you were able to affirm your father's turning his life over to Christ. God will still do miracles in his life as he "bathes" himself in the Word and the fellowship of saints. He is blessed to have you in his life.

Denise,
Tears filled my eyes to imagine you going to the microphone yesterday and honoring your Dad and your lovebug. How touched they must have been. I was just reading about it.
Holykisses my wonderful friend,
Lea

Very touching story, Denise. Your dad would have been very happy... and I am sure that your "lovebug" is and was happy, too. You are such a good daughter and a loving wife. God is glorified in your life. :)

Bless your heart, sister Denise. I am crying right now because I live far away from my hometown. I miss my dad so much and I can't meet him now. I must spent much money to go there. But I really want to go home to visit my dad and my mom again. It has been 2 months I live here and things not going well. I haven't got a job and the situation is really making ame stressful and sad. I sometimes wish that I were there with my family, with my bestfriends. but I leave her and move here. I even can't find internet centre and can't online before I find this public internet service here. I have to pay more again. but this is the only way I could stay connected with my friend there. Oh, what am I talking about? I am sorry. It is so touchful, so I can't stand to cry.

Anyway, I am glad to have such a great sister like you and also other online buddy. You care for me and you are so tender. I am lucky to have met you here.

Love you sister.

I'm so glad you found your Dad and that you have this precious relationship with him now. You'll have some special memories of this time. As you know, my own went home in 2006. I have such wonderful memories of him when I was growing up, after I had a home of my own and even in the 16 months after we said goodbye to Mama.
Honey Bear had an ecard from our son in Texas and Daughter came over in the afternoon with a gift for him.
Blessings,
Mama Bear
