What Are You Learning

I am learning that it is getting easier and easier to let go, and let God. When I first lost my hair, I really tried to act like it did not bother me. I would joke about it constantly, but behind those jokes were the tears of a clown. It was made worse by the stares of certain people, and unkind remarks. Recently, I have been having a struggle over the loss of my hair. I cannot even look in the mirror without crying, I feel so ugly. It is not just the loss of my hair, it is all the sickness I have been through recently. The diabetes has left its mark on my body, my eyes look so tired, and are looking very unhealthy due to the damage from diabetes. But, as I told my sister the other day, as we were talking on the phone, I refuse to dwell upon these things, satan is so happy when I feel so sad. I am not going to throw any happiness his way. I am going to be happy in this body that God blessed me with. I am not ugly, I was created in Gods image, and He is beautiful. I am who I am, and I belong to God. His opinion is the only one that matters, and He loves me regardless. So, I have forever let go of this sadness over losing my hair, and other issues regarding my health. Instead, I have chosen to let God be my mirror. I now see myself, as He sees me. I am His lovely daughter.

You are one of the most beautiful people I've come to know here in Blogland...TRULY! You hold your head high and don't ever let anyone make you think that you're less of a person than what you are!!! Denise...no one is truly "perfect", but we are perfect in the eyes of God. Nothing else really matters. You are beautiful, special, and you are loved!!! Don't ever forget that!♥

I am not ugly, I was created in Gods image, and He is beautiful. ---It gave me chills to read this. This is just such a wonderful reminder that we are made in His image. Praise the Lord. Have a great Friday!

Denise,

I wish you could see the image you reflect ... beautiful doesn't even begin to describe it to me. I'm so glad you are beginning to see yourself through God's eyes. That's the only way, my sister. For you truly are His and so beautiful! PS..I struggle with the same issues. When people tell me I'm beautiful, I can never accept it, I always say "no, i'm not". The other day my son said to me.."that hurts me"...God made you so beautiful and you are beautiful to me so please learn to say "thank you"...that touched my heart so! I'm going to try and learn to say "thank you" for God and for my son!

Blessings to you, my sister!

I know you are learning this, and you are doing amazingly well, my friend. I would feel so ugly w/o my hair. But we must focus on that which God sees as beautiful. And girl--you have one beautiful heart.

Truly beauty is only skin deep...and you have the everlasting beauty of a precious soul who loves the Lord and reaches out to love others. Blessings to you sister. If we could all see ourselves and others as God sees us what a world it would be! We are covered in the blood of the Lamb, spotless and pure white!

Denise, your beauty truly reflects God's in the most precious way I know. It is not measured by the number of hairs on your head or the weakness of your eyes. It is measured from your heart. I'm so glad you're learning to see the true beauty that you have in you, my friend! Much love to you!

Girl, please! You are about as beautiful as they come on the outside as well as on the inside. You're an absolute jewel and don't let anyone else tell you differently.

Hi sweet Denise!

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of you on your blog. I know we are sort of 'new bloggy friends' but, I can only imagine just how beautiful you are even if you don't have hair. We are the Lord's children and every thing that is of Him is a good and perfect, created in His image-beautiful. I want to hug you. If I could I would. I will pray and put my 'hug' in there for you tonight.

Blessings sweet friend :O)
thanks for being so encouraging over at my blog. I love hearing from you.

Goodnight,
Deanna

Oh, Denise...you are beautiful inside and out. When I "see" you...I see Jesus Christ! You are truly an image of Him.

You have the love of two very important men in your life...your lovebug and your daddy...and the greatest gift of all...the love of your Heavenly Father.

You know that I struggle with those types of issues in my life. The enemy wants us to be sad, depressed and open the door for him to slip in. We won't let him!!! Get thee behind us, Satan...you are a liar and a loser! We are bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ...you have already been defeated!

I love you and I am praying for you, my dear friend.

Since your title is "What Are You Learning" ...

I often look at my life and am painfully aware of my failings, and all the ways I don't measure up to living as Christ did. Then I feel ashamed before my Father, because satan (whose name means "accuser") whispers in my ear that sin makes me ugly and repulsive.

But the Lord gives me a different perspective. My five children have come to me with snotty noses and poopy diapers, and they've occasionally even puked on me (need I go on?) But even at their most disgusting, they never repulsed me. I simply drew them to myself and wiped the nose, or changed the diaper, or made a trip to the bathroom to strip off all the clothes and rinse out their sweet little mouths.

When we have the true ugliness of sin on us, we're helpless to get it off. But if we turn to our loving Father in heaven, He'll clean us up and never have a moment's repulsion for those who are His children, because their sin's been covered by the precious blood of Jesus.

Denise, you're beautiful to me and to everyone who loves you. You can put the Lord at the top of that list. If He can look past sin and love us, how could any one of us ever look at someone else made in His image and take note of a physical blemish?

Even if you never put your photo on your site, I have no doubt I'll recognize you when I finally see you.

You amaze me. Your spirit is beyond beautiful. There is no doubt in my mind about your true beauty hair or no hair. I see you through your words. YOU are beautiful. And you are right, let God be your mirror!

Funny thing is I just edited an article for a website about mirrors and how we can focus on God's mirror. It should be posted on Monday on my blog. Or a link to the article from mine. Wow, God's timing is perfect!
