Mission 4 Monday

After school care is an important mission. There are so many kids that stay late after school, because their parents are working, and do not want them home alone. Schools are in need of volunteers to watch over the kids. It is a great oppoortunity, for you, and for the kids. All you do is watch over them, making sure they do their homework. When they finish their homework, they can go outside on the playground, or stay inside and visit with other kids. Someone else will be outside to watch over them while they play. Our kids are precious gifts from God, we need to be more than willing to keep them safe.

Yes indeed they are precious gifts. Our school system has Bible Club on Tuesday right after school in the music room, all my kids have gone and Emily will still have another year of it next year. It is such a blessing for our public school to allow Bible Club, they sing songs, memorize scripture, pray.....everything.

Blessings Denise, Another great MISSION! But actually in some states like MN, I was paid to do this After School Program...as a matter of fact, it was my last position I held with a school district. I totally enjoyed this!

You are so right about OUR KIDS are OUR precious gifts from God...each one whether they are our own or just the ones in our neighborhood or community. Prioritize their care and there will be less problems. They definitely need more supervision and parents are too busy paying bills & need to work!
It's a vicious cycle!

Thanks for linking your thoughts to MISSION 4 MONDAY!

AMEN, Sistah! The children you speak of are going to be in charge when I am old and grayer - man, I pray some wonderful folks answer the call to invest in their lives. Thank you for focusing on this.

I have always known - someone is there to steal them away if we don't show them a little bit of love. I have been wondering if God doesn't want me involved in some sort of tutoring or after school care??

Years ago, I did just that on Saturdays...some parents had to work on the weekends, and I did volunteer since I worked only Mon. thru Fri.

Happy Tuesday to you my dear.

I coordinate a program called Homework Buddies for an afterschool program. I have volunteers lined up to help with regular homework assignments an then I do one on one tutoring for the students that need extra help. How wonderful of you to bring awareness to programs like this!

Love you, my friend.

I did this when we didn't have children. It's an amazing program to be involved in and the kids are always SO precious (even if difficult at first, they always come around) and they love you even years later! I still get hugs in Wal-Mart from the kids I tutored over 6 years ago and two of them are now a part of my family(one was adopted by my sister and another married a cousin of mine)!!

GREAT way to mentor our youth and show love to those who may not receive it otherwise!

LOVE YOU!
