Letter To My 45 Year Old Self

Dear Me at 45, Well, you turned 45 on November 20th 2008. Last year on June 8th, you lost your big brother suddenly, and unexpectedly from type 1 diabetes, he was only 55. You still cannot believe he is gone, but you know he is happy with your momma in heaven. You were very sick at the end of 2008, and now into 2009, you have more sick days than well days, due to your type 1 diabetes. They found several nodules on your thyroid that could possibly be cancerous. You will find out in July, when you have another ultrasound done on your thyroid. But, there have been some wonderful blessings this year too. Your big brothers daughter is going to have a baby, due in September, I know he is celebrating up in heaven. Your dad is back in your life, and you are in church together, praise God. So, hang in there, God is in control, and everything is going to be fine. Love You, at 45

another great letter. i think this is really awesome that you are writing these letters to yourself. keep us updated on the nodules. why are they making you wait until july? can't they needle biopsy them in the office? that's what they did with mine. i have 1 large nodule on my thyroid, thankfully it turned out NOT to be cancer, but of course I have to stay on synthroid for the rest of my life or i risk the chance of it getting larger and needing surgery. I pray yours are non-cancerous too.

Blessings Denise...Somewhere along the line, I missed this about your nodules on your thyroid. But you are so right and so wise for only 45. God is in control & He loves you as YOU love Him. I'm so happy for the restoration with your dad and that you can be in church together after all these years!
Congratulations on your niece's baby, Auntie! I know for sure both your brother & mother are rejoicing! Please keep us updated on your health but we can believe them to disappear before July! I would think that they wouldn't make you wait this long if the nodules were any danger, so we'll assume that God's got that covered. You have enough to deal with...I think I'm going to try writing letters to myself at different ages...I liked this idea & saw it at about 4 other places but only Mrs. Naz (Angela) covered it like you. Good job!

Worth keeping and continuing as you get older since you're now up to your age. You are so loveable!

I love your new header with the kitty & the angel but I'm sure you'll change it before I come back the next time. (((Big hugs))) I loved your prayerS @ Lighthouse!!!

P.S. I just read what GRAMS said about an answer you gave to a ?
HERE...I agree...I want you HERE also!!! Me, too!

Denise, I'm so sorry for your suffering. How amazed I am, though, at your attitude of gratitude and focus on God no matter what. Nothing can get you, Girlfriend! xxxooo

Yes, why don't they do a needle biopsy in the office? It could be Hashymoto's thyroid disease...not cancer... It's an autoimmune thyroid disease... makes more sense... considering you are diabetic... Let's pray it is just this... not cancer...

I love you precious friend.....

This is such a great thing to do I think with these letters. I haven't done it yet but I like this idea. I appreciate how you remembered the positive stuff about this year too! God bless you friend.

Denise, that's a great letter.. looking at the glass as half full instead of half empty. There are always trials.. some harder than others. But there are always blessings, too.. and when you focus on them, they end up outweighing the trials and tipping the scales to the good. And God IS good.. all the time. Praying that God's hand is on you, to keep the diabetes in control and to make those nodules go away completely. HE can do it!
Blessings... and thanks so much for your faithful comments on my blog!

Another beautiful letter, Denise! I love these letters and the creative way that you write them.

We are praying that all the nodules will be gone in Jesus Name before July and you will receive an excellent report. We are praying and believing for better health in 2009 and God to do greater things this year for you and your lovebug!

I love you, Denise!!!

Denise, it's great how you are looking at the blessings in your life instead of just the losses and the negatives.
I wish you luck with the nodules. My sister went through thyroid cancer and we learned it is one of the better ones to have if you are going to have any type of cancer. It's a very cureable cancer. You are in my prayers.
