Mission 4 Monday

Can you imagine what it would be like to not know how to read? All the wonderful books sitting upon the shelf, and you not able to enjoy any of them. Someone would have to read medicine labels to you, recipes, directions, everything. Well, for thousands of people in the world, not being able to read is a sad reality. Please consider becoming a volunteer at your local READ center, share the precious gift of reading with someone. Imagine someone not being able to read the beautiful word of God, that is beyond heartbreaking. Buy a Bible, take it to your local READ center, and then teach someone to read it. You will be sweetly blessed for your efforts.

We take so many things in our lives fore-granted...including our ability to read and our eyesight.

Thank you so much, my dear sweet friend for all your prayers and words of encouragement.

Update: My mom will (hopefully) got to rehab tomorrow. They made her get herself up from laying down to sitting on the side of the bed, up on a walker, down the hall a short way and back to bed. She did great. She is one tough cookie.

I am fighting the stress of all that is going on but...I can only do what I can do...the rest will have to wait. I am having to cook Christmas dinner for the first time ever in my 46 years...mom has always cooked it all by herself. She hates that she can't do it again this year. Hopefully, no one will get sick :-)

Love you!

I had never heard of this b4. Sounds like a wonderful outreach, and one my kids and I could all get involved with. Love your precious heart.

Hi Denise,

Hope you had a good weekend there. Glad to hear your test result came back ok :-)

This is a wonderful post and has certainly made me realise that we do take a lot of things for granted, even reading. It is truly a great idea to spend the time reading to those who can't.

P/s: Thank you for your lovely card! Wish I could print it out to show Happy ;-) But guess she would probably lick the ink off the paper LOL

God has used the gift of reading to save my life in many ways. From escaping chaos in my childhood to connecting with so many like-minded friends now! You are precious to me, dear friend.

As an avid reader and one who is childfree and has plenty of time, why have I not considered this? ARGH! Awesome mission, Denise. I cannot imagine not being able to read, especially God's Word!

What a wonderful idea, Denise. As a former speech therapist, reading has always been a passion, and always been something for which I advocate as much as I can.

Blessings to you, dear.
