Feeling Thankful

Hello everyone, praying you are all doing well. This past week was filled with many sweet blessings. My 45th birthday was Thursday, and the blogging community made me feel so loved. My heart is still overflowing from all the love, and kindness that was shown to me. Of course, lovebug showered me with love and attention. He bought me the loveliest cake, and sang happy birthday to me. He gave me his heart as always, which is the greatest gift. We received some bad news this week concerning lovebugs job. They laid off 125 people, and the rest were cut down to working only four days a week. Thank the Lord, lovebug did not get laid off. But, they will be shut down this coming week, and two weeks at Christmas. So, financially, things are really tight, and will be getting tighter. We decided not to have Thanksgiving dinner, instead we will enjoy a wonderful Christmas dinner. The company lovebug works for gives all the employees a ham for Christmas. So, we will have ham, and all the delicious trimmings at Christmas. Everything will be fine, we are not worried. God has always supplied our needs, and we trust Him to continue to meet our needs. God is in control, so how could things be bad?? Thanksgiving is much more than sitting around a table eating, it is a feeling in your heart. It is being thankful for your blessings, big and small. We should celebrate our blessings each day, not just once a year. This Thanksgiving, I will snuggle up with my lovebug, and praise God for all that I have been blessed with in my life, including all of my dear blogging friends. Be happy, and be blessed. You are all very loved, by your Father, and by me.

Things are tight for so many people right now and unfortunately, I feel that things are going to get a little worse before they get better. I will be praying for you and lovebug. You have such a great attitude about it and the Lord will honor that.

Bless you Denise!

Love to you too, we are so lucky to believe the way we do and have the freedom to believe that way. Praise God for His many blessings, big and little!!!

I'm sorry to hear that things are tighter for you, Denise, but I'm thankful that Lovebug has his job, still. You're so right. What is the meaning behind thanksgiving after all? Gratitude. Nothing to do with food. I mean, yeah, the celebration part is great, but it's breaking bread and giving thanks that is the greatest gift of all. Beautiful post.

Denise,

I'm praying for you and your lovebug. Praise the Lord he didn't get laid off.

Remember the friend I told you about that got laid off and needed to stay with us ... he just got laid off again.

You are such a great inspiration to all of us with your positive attitude, my sweet sis.

I have a favor to ask of you ... would you feel comfortable sending me your address? I have a belated birthday gift to send to you...I'm sorry it's late but with taking care of Jason I just got so far behind on everything.

Now Josh fractured his tail bone at football ... ouch! But anyway...I don't want anymore time to go by...I want to send you something I picked out for you!

You know my email so if you would...please send me that address so I can get this on its way to you!

Love ya bunches! ((hugs)) to you!

Yes, it's tight for many people. You have a wonderful attitude. Thanksgiving dinner can be anything... the object is to be Thankful... and that you have completely filled!

Heather's hubby, Karl, will be deducted an extra $100 a week for health insurance! They can't afford to live in their apartment after the first of the year when that takes effect. They are looking elsewhere but this will mean breaking their lease too... so pray for them.... It's very rough financially on them right now as well.

I understand about things being "tight". We were disucssing today how we were going to handle Christmas this year. There is much to be thankful for. So much that doesn't involve the materials thigs of this world. That is my blog theme for this week. Hugs to you sister. Praying for you.

I'm sorry to hear that about your hubby's job situation. I'm hearing this more and more.

But, you have the right attitude--God is in control and He will provide for you, just as He always has.

And we truly do have so much to be thankful for--so much more than a turkey dinner. We have the love of Jesus in our lives--what could be more wonderful than this?

Seems that things are so tight for so many...... but things are not what brings us joy...... It is the Father God that is the provider......... He is sufficient in all things.... I will pray for you sweetie and just sit back and enjoy the couple of weeks that you will have with your lovebug......

I understand where you are coming from. We've had to severely cut back in our spending. My thoughts and prayers will continue for you and Lovebug.

Denise, I just love you so much! I love your outlook on things and how you look to your blessings rather than any shortfalls in your life. As life gets financially harder, as I think it will for most of us, I hope that I am as able to stay focused on that which is real and true and important as you are. You set a great example!

It's been a while since I've commented on many blogs, but Denise I think of you often. I woke up in the night with thoughts of you and was overwhelmed by God's love for you and the sense of his care over you...so I thought I'd pop in and say hi. Sorry I missed your birthday- Happy belated birthday and sorry to hear of the work situations - wow, this is really a world wide struggle, but you are so right that God is our helper, our hope.

Will pray for you anyway.

You have great courage and your blogging blesses, challenges and gives hope to many - just wanted to encourage you.

This past week I went for an eye appointment and it turns out I need reading glasses (oh the joys of being 40+), then they wanted to check my eye pressure for glaucoma risk - turns out mine is much higher than it ought to be, so I had a repeat test and now I am being referred to the Specialist - now that is not much, a simple thing - and you endure so much...but it got me to thinking about your attitude, your faith in God and it made a difference to me - Denise you so make a difference - I am sure you have no idea how much. xxx
