Celebrate The Holidays-Holiday Traditions & Ideas Edition

I love the Holidays, they put a big smile on my face. Christmas makes me feel like a little kid, woo hoo!! I love decorating our apartment, we put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving, and take it down, New Years Day. The tree we use, was my Mommas Christmas tree, so, of course, it means alot to me. We use some of our ornaments, and some of my Mommas old ones. That way, I feel she is decorating with us. Christmas was her favorite Holiday, and is mine also. We listen to Christmas music, while we are decorating. Actually, we do some dancing around our tree, lol Another tradition while decorating, is drinking mugs of hot chocolate, and sharing a big bowl of popcorn. Yummy. I love baking at this time of year, cookies, cakes, breads, you name it, I bake it!! I cook a big dinner Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Turkey, with all the trimmings for Thanksgiving, and Ham, with all the trimmings for Christmas. A great tradition at Christmas, is baking a Birthday cake for Jesus, and eating a piece of it on Christmas Eve, after reading the Christmas Story. I light candles on Thanksgiving and Christmas for my Momma, and this year, my Brother also. Remembering them, is very important to me. Thanks for letting me share some of my traditions, be blessed everyone.

Happy Birthday, Denise!
I hope this finds you feeling well.
I'm happy that you have the journal and look forward to reading what you share. I'm pleased that you feel like sharing this time. Everyone will be pleased.
I loved reading about your traditions. It is always so fun to hear what others do to celebrate.
We are putting our lights up on the house on Thanksgiving weekend. I'll probably do our tree that weekend also. It will be a small one this year. I have lots of ornaments and have begun to share some with family.
This month marks the second anniversary of my Daddy's home going. It makes me sad but I know he is happy in heaven with Momma.
Have a great day my friend!
Love,
Mama Bear

Happy Birthday, Denise!

We have similar traditions. We put up our tree while drinking hot chocolate and listening to some good praise music. Then, we always bake a cake for Jesus... red velvet every year!

I hope you have an awesome day!

UM... I do believe that I just left you a comment under someone else's blogger ID. That is what happens when you are designing blogs. :( I've done this a few times. That is why I hardly ever comment. It is pretty embarrassing. :)

Denise, I really enjoyed hearing about your holiday traditions. Your heart just shines in each message you write and I know that is Jesus shining through you!

My favorite traditions take place when my son and all my grandchildren are here and I pray that gets to happen this year. We had fond holiday memories when our children were little also and I'll always cherish those since Brandi is in Heaven now. You are a blessing Denise! Hugs, Bonnie

Thinking of you as you celebrate without loved ones. The holidays can be difficult in that regards.

First, Happy Birthday, Denise! Now you're part of the family...I always forget to call the extended family on their birthdays. It's a big joke...they would probably be disappointed if I actually sent the birthday wishes on their birthdays.

Great traditions. We do the hot chocolate, too, using peppermint candy canes to stir the cocoa.

Happy Friday & Happy belated Birthday!
