Marriage Monday-Why Romance Matters

My lovebug and I have been married for almost 24 years now. I praise God that our romance is alive and well. It is important to keep the fire and passion burning, never let the fire die down. Keep the embers of your love brightly burning. When my lovebug walks into the room, my heart still melts. He is my everything, he totally completes me. He hears the love song playing in my heart, and sings it back to me word for word. He knows what I am thinking, or feeling, without me having to say one word. We are two souls in one body. God knew what I needed, when He created my lovebug 44 years ago. We were meant for one another, two pieces of a puzzle, that fit perfectly together, for always.

I am learning how much I love and depend on my man. How much I love him.
Can't wait for him to come home.
God truly showed His love for us by giving us our men.

Well, if you don't have the time to write a book, I'm convinced you would make some of the sweetest greeting cards out there and you could call your series "The Lovebug Series". :)

I feel the same way about my husband of 25 years. He knows me better than I know myself sometimes and I know him too.

Have a good week!

You are so lucky! I was lucky for 17 yrs until GOD needed another angel. I have so many memories of Him and I. I was blessed to share his life the length I was given.

Denise, this is beautiful! I love this line, "He hears the love song playing in my heart, and sings it back to me word for word." It's so poetic.

Love you, my friend.

Congrats! on your long lived love story. My husband always teaches this about love..."its a choice". I am so glad that my sweetie chooses each day to love me. What a wonderful thing that we are passing down to our kids, for them to truly know what marriage should be built on - love! Thanks for sharing with us AT THE WELL.

I loved your flowers on top...isn't that new?

-Blessings, Laurie

Denise, good to hear from you again. Thanks for stopping by my place too. I enjoyed reading your post. My favorite quotes from you were "When my lovebug walks into the room, my heart still melts." and "God knew what I needed, when He created my lovebug 44 years ago." How sweet and precious! God does know who and what we need, doesn't He? Thank God that He is in control, and He blesses us with gifts so wonderful that we don't know how to thank Him enough.

I just have to keep my eye and affections toward the Master though, and not love my husband more than He. This puts things in proper perspective for me and teaches me how to love my husband on the level and the way that I should without compromising my love, trust, and faith with reckless abandonment toward God. I can't do this without God though, but I want to stay surrendered to Him so that I can, with His enabling.

My husband is truly a gift, but I remember telling him when we first got married that he always needed to remember that he would never take the place of God in my life. God was my first Comforter, Supporter, Provider, and Friend, and He would remain so. My husband can't be God in my life, but Lord knows he sure is a great husband and one of the best human beings that I know. Blessed me, huh?

Have a wonderful day!
