In Other Words Tuesday

“We as women, think of ourselves as mothers, teachers, nurses and so on, but God says that we are builders. We usually relegate this role to the men, but we are building with something far greater than brick and timber.” Nancy Campbell, The Power of Motherhood: What The Bible Says About Mothers.: I am not a mother, but I have been a builder. As someone who has been a Sunday school teacher, children's church worker, assistant youth leader, and church camp counselor, I have had my hands in different areas of building. Starting out with shaky, unsure foundations, and then, laying down a firm foundation built soundly upon The Rock. Assuring our youth that they are loved beyond measure, that in God they truly can put their love and trust. Helping them to grow spiritually, and emotionally. Being willing, to allow the Master builder to add, or take away from our own foundation as He feels the need to. If you have the opportunity to mold a young persons life, take the job seriously. Handle them with much love, and prayer. Those are the two greatest tools in the construction of a young persons life.

Well said Denise. We must never forget that we are always building in the lives of those we touch.

You know Denise we are "builders" by the simple fact that we are women...You have helped shaped many "houses and foundations" by the life you live...thank you for that...

We NEED all the builders we can get...:)
peace,
lori

Take the job seriously, I love that comment. Mom or not we all have our part to play and we need to take it serious because we can make a huge difference.

Denise, I have never thought of us as builders...but you are right! We are. We are doing our best to build for the kingdom of God--as He directs and lays the work in our lives to do!
What a blessing you are today~I hope your day is filled with joy and peace as you continue "building" for the kingdom of heaven!

Thanks so much for the wonderful reminder, Denise. I may read this many times today! I needed this word from you so much as it has been hard lately with the new baby coming to make sure everyone gets enough of my attention and love! This was very encouraging to me today, thank you, my friend! :o)

Love and Prayers,
Julie

So true Denise, if are not mothers, we are still builders of our homes, and the lives we touch daily. :)

Have a blessed day,

So true Denise. Our children are the greatest hope for the future. They will be building God's kingdom on earth. As we love, pray and care for them, whether they are our own or whether we simply have the chance to inspire them, we are doing God's work.

AMEN! Well said. We are all builders. If we as parents, grandparents, teachers, etc. do not lay down a solid foundation for our children to build upon, and pray over them as well then when they are older their "building" will fall down. The sad thing is that even if we do everything right the child still has "free will" given to them by God. We should never cease from praying for our kids...even when they become adults! Thank you so much for sharing your heart. Thank you for your encouragement. Love, Michele

This is so true. I raise my children exactly this way. Especially teens need to know they are loved and prayed for.

So true! Whatever the life God has entrusted to us, whether our own children, children at church, in the neighborhood or even other grown ups around us...it's a soul God loves and Jesus died for and it's a soul God charges us to build!

thanks!
Sheila
