Bad Dreams

Recently, I have been attacked, through my dreams by satan. Every night, when I go to sleep, I have one, sometimes two, nightmares. They always involve members of my family, which I am estranged from, my deceased stepfather that abused me, or my momma that is deceased. They are really horrible, I am either killed in them, or badly abused in some form. They really scare me, I wake up with really bad chest pains, my heart is racing, I feel as if I am going to have a heart attack. I am getting to the point where I hate to go to sleep. I pray over my dreams every night before I go to sleep, I ask for Gods protection as I sleep. I really think that there is a spiritual battle going on in my dreams, satan is trying to control my dreams. But, I am not going to allow him to be victorious, God is my creator, and my beloved Saviour. He is the owner of all of me, including my dreams. Please join me in praying over my dreams, I would greatly appreciate it. God bless you all.

Try thanking God out loud at night before you go to be for the beautiful dreams He is going to give you about Himself and heavenly things.
I'll pray.

Are you still on meds from surgery?
One of the ladies at our church said on of the meds they put her on gave her horrible dreams. She had to watch what she was reading and watching on TV.
When she read the side effects on the prescriptions sleep disturbance because of dreams was mentioned.

I will pray.

Lord, I lift Denise to you. Thank You for her faith and love for You, Father. I ask that you would bind the enemy from her dreams and her life entirely. Thank You for continuing to heal her body, and for keeping her eyes on You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Denise,
God loves you so much. Remember, Romans 8:37 tells us that we are more than overcomers. You see, Jesus already won the victory. Therefore, Believers can live victoriously because Christ lives in them. I have said a prayer for you.

Grab some index cards and write out these Scriptures on them. Speak them out, pray them, memorize them. God's Word is a powerful weapon.

Romans 8:37
Galatians 5:1
Isaiah 41:10
Psalm 27:1
Psalm 27:3
Proverbs 3:25-26
Philippians 4:6-7
Romans 8:15

"You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."
I John 4:4

I once heard Beth Moore talk about how to give our minds over to God. She prays everyday for God to permiate her thoughts, dreams her consiousness. I have done this and it does make a difference.

Lord, protect Denise. I ask you to position angels around her home and bed at night. Lord, when she wakes from bad dreams put scripture into her mind and lead her to say it out loud. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen

I will keep you in my prayers. I, too, wondered as Sharon did if the dreams could be from your medication. That happens to me often on certain medications. When I take them, I open my Bible to Psalm 91 and lay it on the bed at my feet! There is power in the Word!

Hello Denise,
I have found a prayer book I used to use some 5-6 uears ago, and the night before I read a prayer asking for rest for body and soul. I'll find it and translate it (it's in Ancinet Greek).
I think the previous comments have a point too, about medication, for example.
What I also think might help is revisiting in your mind your relationship with certain people, talking about it with your husband, go to confession with a priest you trust, pray for their souls and lit a candle for them, or whatever it is you do in your tradition for them to apease and rest their souls.
I know how frightening bad dreams are. I am the lessest of people to pray for you, but I shall pray for you.
