Friday Fragments

People panic when they hear the word snow, even a small chance. They get in their cars, and away they go to the store, to grab as much milk, cheese, and bread, as they possibly can carry. First of all, if the weather is so bad, why are they putting their life at risk, by being out on the road driving??  Secondly, if they think it is so important to have milk, and cheese, why not just buy their own cow?? Mooooving along to a much more serious subject now!!  I am sure, by now, you have heard about the incident, involving the basketball team here in Tennessee. A boy was raped, during a team getaway trip. This truly breaks my heart, to think of the pain that boy went through, and will deal with the rest of his life. He definitely needs prayers. The way this thing was handled, and continues to be handled, is so far beyond wrong!! Basketball is just, basketball, that boy is much, much, more important. This needs to be dealt with, properly!! The superintendent , wants a buyout of his current contract. An insane amount of money. Excuse me, how much money is that precious boy's dignity, self-worth, physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing worth?? Cannot ever put a price on that. People, do the right thing here!!

Hi Denise! I had not heard about this case of the basketball-playing boy. That is just horrible! I can't imagine the torture of being him, or the pain of being his parent. What in the world is wrong with people today?
I saw your post as a 'pirate' and I hope your eye is doing a little better these days? I would think that eye pain would be so aggravating and difficult. God bless you as you deal with your health. You have been challenged lately that's for sure.
I am hoping that your weather isn't extreme, and good for you for staying put. (I think all the runs on the stores are for people with multiple children, don't you think?)

Have a peaceful weekend my friend,
Ceil

What a disturbing and sad story indeed. Hopefully the boy gets the right help and counselling. Warm greetings to you, and have a nice weekend!

We were just talking here at my house about how crazy people go when they think they might get snowed in for a day or two. The milk and bread is completely stripped from all the grocery shelves. I don't think anyone is ever locked into their homes for longer than a day or two at most! Very sad with the young boy! Hope they get plenty of help for him.

Oh my Denise. I did not hear about this sad situation. It is horrible. I know it will affect this young man for years to come even if he gets good counseling. I pray he gets some good help sooner rather than later. I just prayed for your eye and I hope you are feeling better soon. Keep warm and dry and safe indoors. xx

Oh, that is so awful; I do pray for justice on this one. We live in a very disturbed world. We do need our Savior and I hope his coming is soon.
Pray for your safety and warmth as the snow flies. Hugs!

I don't like being cold but I like snow. I hope in two weeks time to go to the mountains and maybe learn a bit of skiing with my friends.

May the Lord bless and heal as you cope with this inconvenience with your eye! You obviously still see well enough to create a lovely blog!

I know what you mean about people rushing off to buy food like we're not going to have better weather in 2 or 3 days time.....they must not keep anything on hand...I think, if we had to we could live a couple of months on what is in the pantry, even got some powdered milk in there.

Oh my goodness! I don't turn on the news anymore. This is horrible! I can't imagine! My son was threatened one time, just threatened and he was in therapy for years. Praise God for his healing, he is now a whole man with a wonderful family. Prayers for your healing. I read your other posts. Bless you my friend.
