The Loft-School Memories

I wish I had happy school memories to share, but unfortunately, I don't. I was bullied all through school, because of my weight. I never had fun at recess, they would not let me jump rope, they said I would cause an earthquake. Fatty, Fatty two by four, Denise cannot get through any door. Anything they could do to hurt me, and make me cry, they did. When I would go home after school, I would go to my room, lay down on my bed, and cry, cry, cry. Who did I turn to for comfort? My best friend, which was actually, my worst enemy, food. I stuffed all of my emotions. I pray for all bullies, may God help them realize the damage they do, and change their hearts. My heart truly goes out to those that have been bullied, or those that are currently being bullied. I pray a wall of protection around you. Things will get better, I promise.

Denise, I am so sorry you do not have good memories of school. That make me sad. Thanks for linking up with us at The Loft today.

I was also made fun of in school, but not because of my weight. I was one of the skinniest children in my class but I was made fun of because I was in a special class for slow learners. I was called "stupid", "retarded", "dummy", and contrary to popular belief, words do hurt!

When I taught high school, I tried so hard to make my students understand that high school would be over before you know it...and those people that had to make themselves feel big by bullying would not come to good things is they kept up that nonsense in the real world!

This makes me cry. Then it makes me mad!

Aww...Denise, I'm sorry to hear that you had a hard time of it in school, that makes me sad.
I have always disliked the way others treat people, and children can be so cruel.
I too did not have the greatest school days. By the time I reached my sophomore year I quit. It was to much of a struggle dealing with mouthy guys who had no respect for the young ladies and teachers who cared only for those who excelled, I was not one of them.
God has thought me many things over the years since I came to know Him, and that has been worth it all!

Have s most blessed day, sweet friend!
Love you~ Debbie

Hi Denise! My heart goes out to son was mercilessly bullied as a grade schooler, and it just broke my heart. I was also not treated well at that age. You are not alone.

We're all so vulnerable when we're young, and expect the world to be a kind place. For the most part it is, but it only takes one person to make life a burden and send you crying to your room. I'm very sorry this happened to you, but I can say that it has helped to form your tender heart for those who are bullied. We need more people like you.
God bless your heart,

I hate bulling too. I am so sorry you had to suffer through all that. Kids can be so cruel at times. I wonder about bullies and why they do what they do. I think they had horrible lives and then take it out on innocence victims. They do so much damage. I just don't understand how they can do what they do. The world is very full of them. I do know that we need to have forgiving hearts because that is what the Savior would want; but sometimes it is hard.
Why can't we all just love one another with the pure love of Christ. I know that you do.
Sending love and wished for blessings and hugs your way~

I'm so sorry for all you went through at school Denise. My daughter was bullied and it really damaged her confidence. We started homeschooling her and her sisters as a result. My heart aches for the children who have to face the bullies every single day. I wish the system was more compassionate, so this kind of behaviour couldn't take root within it. Wishing you a peaceful weekend :)

I'm sorry you had such a hard time in school. I will never understand why people act like that toward one another. I hope that it is getting better now but I am not sure we can ever stop those kinds of things from happening until we all stand up for each other.
