Five Minute Friday-Comfort

Jesus, You are my true comfort. When life
comes crashing through my door, bringing a variety of emotions my way. Like a deck of cards, the emotions lay spread out in front of me. Fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, sadness, my mind starts racing. What do I do? I run to You, my comforter. When my heart is grieving, and my eyes overflowing with tears. My mind is overwhelmed with self loathing, and self hatred. Where do I go, who do I turn to? You, my true comforter. You are my life line, my lighthouse, my life boat, now, and forever. You never fail to respond quickly to my 911 call, my sos signal, and even my red flag moments. Sure, sweet treats, stuffed animals, warm blankets, they can bring some comfort to my hurting heart, for a little while. But, You precious Jesus, You bring comfort to my aching, breaking heart, 24/7 Thank You for being my lifetime comforter.

Dear Denise
Even our soft comfy toys is a gift from our lord. Nothing else, but only the comfort in His arms brings us such joy and peace as we learn to just rest in Him, to test in His Loving Embrace.

Oh, goodness. Well, you had me at the Care Bears, friend. I could write an entire post (or twelve) on the comfort I found in my stuffed Care Bears as a little girl. (Friend bear was my first and is still my favorite.) :) I love this...such a reminder of all He is. Blessings and happy weekend! I hope it's beautiful. :)

Dear Denise
This is so true! Although these other things can bring us some familiarity and comfort, only Jesus is the one who is our true Comforter!

I was reading a book on hymns and this one stood out to me "The things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace!" Bless you, Denise.
