Day 16-Praying For My Husband

“Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” - Psalm 1:2-3 (HCSB)

This verse pictures a man firmly planted in God. When the winds of adversity blow, he may bend a little, but he is never broken. When the dry times come and everything around him is withering, he still flourishes because he is tapped into the source of life. Finally, because he has this firm rooting, whatever he does prospers.

The reason for his success and ability to flourish while others are failing is not his intelligence, or stamina. It is because he delights in the instruction of the Lord.

This is the picture of a man who not only knows the word of God, but loves the word of God. He not only knows the word of God, but obeys it and delights in it. This is the man that will be successful in all he does.

There are many books written on success. Lots of advice on how to improve yourself, but when we learn to delight in the instruction of the Lord we have the promise of success.

As you pray for your husband today, pray that the Word of God will become the centerpiece of his life. Ask the Lord to burn within his heart a deep desire and delight in the Word of God. Pray that he has a willing heart to not only know the Word of God, but to completely obey and delight in it.

Father, I pray that eddie will be like a tree planted by living water. I pray that he will delight in Your word. I ask that you place within him a deep desire to not only know Your word, but to obey and delight in it. I pray that you will bless him and prosper him as he delights in Your word.
In Jesus Name,
Amen

eddie, today I am praying that you become a man who delights in the Word of God. I am praying that God gives you a deep desire and delight in the instruction of the Lord. I am also claiming the promise for you, that as you delight in the Word of God, you will prosper in all you do. Love denise
