Day 26-Praying For My Husband

And to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” - Ephesians 4:24 (ESV)
When you invited Christ into your heart, God made you into a new person. He not only forgave your sins, and filled you with His Holy Spirit, but He also gave you a new nature (self).

So many Christians know their sin is forgiven, but they don’t see themselves as new creations in Christ. Righteousness and holiness are natural to our new self, because we are made in His image.

We are encouraged to put on the new self, God has given us. In order to put on the new, we have to set aside the old self. As long as we hold onto who we were, we will never become who God has called us to be. We are to put on the new self and leave the old self behind. As we put on the new self, we become more and more like Christ.

As you pray for your husband today, pray that he stops focusing on who he was, and begins to see himself as who he is in Christ. Pray that he sets aside the old self and puts on the new self. Ask God to help him begin living in the new nature God has given him.

Father I pray that you will help eddie see that he is a new creation in You. Help him to remember that his old life has passed away and You have made all things new. I pray that he is reminded that he has to put on his new self and set aside the old self to walk in the victory and power You have promised him.In Jesus Name,

Amen.

eddie, today I am praying that you put on the new self God has given you. I was reminded today that you are not the old eddie, but a new eddie in Christ. You have a nature that is in the likeness of God, righteous and holy. I am praying that today you live in the new nature God has given you. love, denise

This is a good post, Denise! I think many Christians lack the joy they could have in Christ because they just don't 'get it' that they are clothed in CHRIST's righteousness. What amazing grace!

I love praying Ephesians 3:16-19 for my loved ones replacing "you" with their names. May we all grow in His knowledge and grace. Blessings to you sis and have a great Thanksgiving!
