“Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to
speak, and slow to anger, for man’s anger does not accomplish God’s
righteousness.” - James 1:19-20 (HCSB)
How easy is it for you to lose your temper? Are
you one of those people who can go from zero to blastoff just because someone
cuts in front of you on a freeway?
When we get angry, it is usually because we
feel someone has violated our rights. (I should be able to drive down the
freeway without someone cutting in front of me).
James shows us the secret to controlling our
anger. We are to be quick to listen, and slow to speak. How many times have we
said things we regret because we spoke before we thought? How many feelings have
been hurt because we spoke out of anger?
When we are slow to speak, it is easier to be
slow to anger. Why should we be slow to anger? Because we will never accomplish
God’s desires through our anger.
The secret to living anger free, is to walk in
submission to the Lord. When we understand that God is in control, and He is
working in my life, I can control my anger.
As you pray for your husband today, ask the
Lord to help him control his anger. Claim this verse for him. Ask the Lord to
help him release his life into the hands of the Lord and release his rights to
God.
Father, I pray that you will help eddie to
control his anger. I pray that he will be slow to speak and slow to anger. Help
him to realize that anger never accomplishes the desires of God.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
eddie, I was reminded today that our anger
never accomplishes the work of God. God has told us that we are to be quick to
listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. I am praying that as you submit your
life to the Lord, you will become slow to anger. love, denise

sometimes anger is a vent to make one feel better...without violence of course.
But your post yesterday is what I felt good about!!!...."where two or more are gathered, He will be there."
To this, I say: "That will work and show strength".
Amen. We all need to be slow to speak. Thanks for sharing your heart with us.
