Thankful Thursday

Happy Thankful Thursday everyone. What are you thankful for today?  I am very thankful for my great nephew, Zach(also known, as my little man) My niece Kelli(his mom) and I were always so close. I felt like her second mom. My big brother Charles, is her dad. Kelli was always with me and lovebug, we were always going places, and having fun, fun, fun!! She moved in with us as our roommate in 2000, everything was so wonderful. I loved having her live with us. But, when we told her there were certain rules she needed to live by, she got very mad at me. She moved out in December of 2004, she did not speak to me again, until September of 2009.  Not having her in my life, and her not speaking to me for so long, broke my heart. She got married in 2006, and she did not invite me to the wedding. I was devastated. Her dad, my brother, passed away from his diabetes, in May of 2008. Of course, I saw her at the funeral, but she still would not talk to me, heartbreaking. I found out she was pregnant, and she had Zach in September of 2009. I wanted to see her, and the baby so badly, but still, she would not talk to me. I continued to pray, pray, pray.  One night at Walmart, lovebug and I saw Cheryle, Kelli's mom. She hugged me, and started showing me pictures of her beautiful, new grandson, Zach.  She said, "Nesie, Kelli really wants you to see her baby, she wants you to be a part of his life, like you always were hers.  She is just to stubborn to call you. Of course, I started crying.  I went home, and immediately called her, and asked her to please bring Zach to see me. The next evening, her, and her mom, brought Zach over to see me. I fell in love with him the moment I laid my eyes on him, just like I did, the first time I saw Kelli. When Kelli hugged me, and placed her son in my arms, I thought my heart would explode from all the happiness I felt. Now, it has been almost three years, little man is a big part of my life. I see him nearly every weekend, and of course, every holiday, and on his birthdays. We spent Easter with him, his parents, and his grammy.  This Friday, he will be spending the night with us. I cannot believe he will be three years old this coming September, time sure flies. When he looks at me, and says," I love you aunt neasie, my heart melts, just like it continues to do, when his mom, says, " I love you aunt neasie. I am truly blessed. Thank You Lord for bringing Zach into my life, and his precious mom, back into my life. I am forever thankful.

Communication with family is just so important, just as it is with God.
I write and maintain a blog which I have entitled “Accordingtothebook” and I’d like to invite you to follow it.

That's a wonderful story of forgiveness and grace. I'm so glad you are all reunited.

As for me, it would be hard to pick something I'm thankful for today. I think it would have to be that though I'm having problems with my leg, I can still walk. I hope to be able to do more walking in future.

Love and hugs and thanks for stopping by my "Joy Cloud".
