On Your Heart Tuesdays

Hello everyone, what is on your heart today? Laying on my heart, is the issue of bullying. Such a sad, tragic, horrible thing.  As someone who was the object of bullying when I was in school, my heart truly hurts for other victims. Please do not think that this is not a real problem, believe me, it is very real. If you are different in any way, you can become a target for bullying. I pray that your children, or grandchildren do not ever become victims of bullying. We must prepare our loved ones for battle. One way is to make sure they know that they are loved unconditionally. Show them that they are worthy of love.  Let them know daily how very special they are, just because they are, who they are. Make sure they realize, all they have to be is theirself. God created them in His image, so that makes them totally awesome. If they do fall victim to a bully, do everything you can, to help them through this. Tell them, to stand tall, God is on their side. Bullys are satans mouth pieces, they speak lies, which come straight from the father of all lies. Quote scripture, that is the truth, God's words. Pray for your loved ones always, keep them covered. Blessings to you all.

I was bullied, also, as a child, but have allowed myself to be bullied as an adult. I didn't realize that's what to call if for a long time, but I have family and friends who only use me, which is a form of bullying on their part. But....I will no longer allow it. It's caused some to step away from me....but that's okay!!! I truly don't believe our precious Lord wants us to be a doormat for anybody!!! Thanks for such a good post on a timely topic!

Bullying has become a major problem in schools. We had an inservice this past week to be alert to signs of it. It is worse than it was when I was growing up because of the internet. People can spread things virally in an instant. It's 24/7.

First off, loved you family Easter Share...I missed it the other day. And secondly, I've read so much lately on bullying ONLINE even. It's too sad.

I think that bullying needs to be nipped in the tush as well- teaching our children to be strong in the Lord (as you said) and let the other children know this is unacceptable behavior. Much easier said than done of course. Thanks for sharing your heart on this Denise! -Nicole @ Working Kansas Homemaker

I witness my daughter being severely bullied in school. Due to continued problems this has continued into her adult life. She has been called so many hateful names online. Yes she is different, but she is God's gift to me and I hate to see the pain she has endures!

Bullies are so destructive. I have to remember that God has some work to do in their lives...

Not only from school years, but now as I go through a battle at work, I feel like what is being done is like bullying. I thank God that because of Him, I have nothing to fear. Take care sis and God bless.

This is heartbreaking. It is sad that any difference at all makes one a target for bullying. I love your words of advice to pray God's word and keep loved ones covered.

My heart aches when I think of how much bullying goes on all over the place. What you've written is spot-on! This is a topic I spent a lot of time writing about when I first started my blog. Without seeming obnoxious, I have shared the link to the first of four articles. I have found myself referring back to them with my own children many times.
