On Your Heart Tuesdays

Today, I am linking up with http://www.shandaoakleyinspires.com/p/on-your-heart-tuesdays.html  What is on my heart today? Children, God's sweetest blessings ever. My husband and I tried for 16 years to have a baby, but due to physical problems, I was unable to get pregnant. In April of 2000, I had to have a total hysterectiomy, I was 36 years old at the time. I am now 48, and still wonder what my dream baby would have been like. My heart aches for what might have been, but God knows best. I am so thankful for the children God has brought into my life through the years. First, it was several children from church, that I babysat. Then, I was a Sunday School Teacher, and Children's Church Worker, and Church Camp Counselor. I was blessed with a niece, and two nephews, that I loved as if they were my children. My niece Kelli and I were extremely close, she actually moved in with me and my husband, after she graduated from High School. She lived with us from 2000-2003. We had so much fun, really missed her when she moved out. She got married in June of 2006, and now has her own precious little son. He will be three in September, his name is Zachary. I call him my little man, he is my hearts treasure. Everything I use to do with his mom, I am now getting to do with him. He makes me so happy, and I truly feel alive when he is around. He spent the day with us on Sunday, we had a blast. We went to the park, I went down the sliding board with him. He giggled, and said, "Aunt Neasie, say weeeeeeeeee when you go down the slide". So, away I went, saying weeeeeeeeeeeeeee, all the way down. He loved it!! Then, we swang all the way to the sky, way up high to the birdies. So, when my heart gets to feeling blue, because I am not a mom, I just think of my dear little man, and say, weeeeeeeeeeeee, all through the day.

I know we will not always understand the 'whys' but knowing who is in control does help. God bless.

HI Girl
Remember it is the barren woman who is the mother of many.
Children need those who treasure them without the hindrances of duty and responsibility that make parenting such a challenging task.
Our stories similar except at 16 years marriage we adopted Dove then at 20 years marriage Dash.
Dash turns 11 today.
They are the main children in life now, once my days were full of so many young ones. It is very hard fulfilling work. It is VERY hard sis. Health is a real need in parenting.

You are a great mom to many, Denise. I'm sorry for your mother's ache... a very real and tangible pain for women whose wombs remain empty. But I rejoice for your perspective and your willingness to invest your mothering into so many lives. You mother me with your encouragement and precious love. I treasure this gift!
