Hey Friends!
In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm going to share our love story.
I'm linking up with From Mrs. to Mama (and many others) for this one! Enjoy!
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
Eddie and I started dating in November of 1984, and we were married in April 1985.
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?} Eddie had a friend named Darryl, who had a huge crush on me. Darryl did not have a car, so he asked Eddie to bring him over to see me. Well, I did not like Darryl, bless his heart, he really got on my nerves. But, when Eddie brought him to see me, it was love at first sight. So glad Darryl chose Eddie to bring him over, woo hoo!!
3. How long have you been married?
We will celebrate 27 years of marriage this coming April 6.
4. Where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? We got married here in Chattanooga Tennessee, at People's Independant Baptist Church, by our dear preacher, and friend, Melvin Lykins. He is in heaven now. It was sort of a small wedding, about fifty guests, but it was a beautiful wedding. The song "There Is Love" by Peter, Paul, and Mary played, also, "My Only Love" by the Statlers, that was "our song" back then. My niece Kelli, and her husband John, were married at that same church in June of 2006. Awesome!!
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share! My nicknames for Eddie: Lovebug, Pa, Hunny Bunny. Eddie's nicknames for me: Shortybear, Hunnybunch, Ma.
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
1. I can truly trust Eddie with my heart.
2. Eddie loves me, warts, and all. All I have to be , is me.
3. Eddie makes me smile.
7. Tell us how he proposed. I was totally shocked, could not believe it. We had been out to eat, and he drove me home. We were sitting in the car talking, and all of a sudden, he said, let's get out of the car. I said, ok. He told me to close my eyes, and please, do not peek!! So, I closed my eyes, and did not peek, I was a good girl. lol!! When he told me to open my eyes, he was down on one knee, in front of me. I said, what are you doing? He said, you know I love you, right? I said, yes, and I love you too. He took my hand in his, looked at me with those gorgeous eyes, and spoke straight to my heart. He said, would you please make all my dreams come true, and make me the happiest man in the world, by saying, you will be my wife?? Oh, my goodness, I thought my heart, was going to explode, I could not say yes, fast enough!! Then, I looked at him, and said, would you marry me, and be my forever love?/ Thank God, he said yes. Woo Hoo. Thank You Lord.
8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals? Eddie is a flowers, and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day.
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in, and relax on the couch?
As long as I am with my lovebug, it does not matter where we are. Wherever we are, love is there.
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I'd love for us to be able to vacation in Hawaii one day.
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Because Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday this year, we celebrated this past weekend. We went out to eat on Saturday night, and gave each other candy. Eddie gave me a beautiful shirt, and I gave him a new hoodie. Sunday, Eddie gave me two more new shirts, some wonderful smelling rose soap, and two lovebug stuffed animals. Totally awesomw!!
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day? I am just very thankful to be here, to celebrate another Valentine's Day with Eddie.
13. Give us one piece of advice, of keeping a relationship strong, and full of love.Make time for one another, forgive, and always pray together.
