In Other Words Tuesday

Our problem is not a generation gap between adults and kids.
Our problem is the gap between God and adults
in order to reach our kids. ”

~ J Vernon Magee                                                                                                             Amen, this is so very true. How can adults reach kids, and help lead them to God, when so many adults, are walking around , lost without God. There is a huge gap in this world between adults, and God. It is like, the adults are standing on one side of a huge bridge, the kids are in the middle of the bridge, and God, is on the other end of the bridge. We say to God, how can we help our kids, what can we do? How did this happen, why are they on drugs, drinking, having premartial sex? Well, God says, hmmm, now let me think about this for a minute.  When you were their age, your parents begged you not to smoke, drink, do drugs, or have premartial sex.  While they begged you not to do these things, they sometimes had a beer in one hand, and a cigarette in the other.  Remember the time, you caught your dad, smoking pot?  Oh yea, you were conceived before they got married. So, you grew up, following your parents example, and now, as you wonder why your kids are acting this way, you are craving a drink, or a cigarette!! Snap out of it people, until you run to God, close the generation gap, and bond together to save the kids, the gap, is only going to get, wider, and wider.  "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate, and broad is the road, that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

That was a really good post on this subject. Its ridiculous isn't it that we wonder why our kids are behaving like they do without looking at ourselves and the gap we have created between us and God. The kids are on the bridge you described and if we don't knock it off we are going to cause that bridge to collapse. Thanks for sharing. My secret mission turned out well.
