Marriage Monday-Why The Recession Has Strengthened Our Marriage

I chose to write on why the recession has strengthened our marriage this month for Marriage Monday. Eddie and I have been on a financial roller coaster since last December. Down, down, down, then slowly going back up, now, dropping back down at a fast rate of speed. Our hearts beat faster, as the money goes down faster, but the bills stack up faster. But, the beautiful thing, our love for each other grows more daily. We realize that bills are forever, money is not going to last, but our love will remain, burning brightly, keeping us warm, and holding on to each other, and our gracious, loving, caring, always providing, heavenly Father.

I'm glad to hear one good thing about the recession, Wow what a year it has been for me. Just getting healthy would help.

Oh what a hard rollar coaster to ride. Isn't it wonerful it is bringing you closer and stronger together. And isn't it wonderful that God is there. He really is. Even we we don't feel like it.
I am logging off here to write you an email.
C you 'in a minute' That is the grandbaby's new phrase. 'in a minute'.

Hard times do strengthen bonds. I witnessed that firsthand in my house. I'm glad you both have such a love for each other that transcends hard times - I want that kind of bond in my future (if God wills it). *hugs*

You two are such a wonderful example of love! Even when times are difficult, you've turned toward each other, rather than away. For some, that's not easy. For you two... the norm!

Thanks for joining us for Marriage Monday today, Denise.

All I can say precious sister is GRACE. God's grace is wrapped around you both as HIS grace is around us all. Your heart is precious in the LORD.

I'm praying God's favor over you and your husband. His healing touch, strength, wisdom and total provision in all your needs.

I love you.

When you both know what's truly important, I think those things drive you together and together to depend upon God.

Denise - I have also found in my own life that financial difficulties has brought me closer to the Father. I sometimes hate to admit that even my husband's battle with cancer did not cause me to depend on Jehovah Raphe (the healer) like tough times caused me to depend on Jehovah Jireh (the provider).

Bless you, sweet sister.

A good marriage is a wonderful institution. I have a quote here somewhere that says"A good marriage is like a five star hotel, expensive but worth it." I love that and feel that way about my own marriage. Tough times makes tough people turn to God! God Bless You both! Anne
