Lost And Found

We are all familiar with a lost and found, a place where misplaced and missing items wind up. As a child, I had to go to the lost and found in elementary school many times. It seems I was always losing my gloves, my hat, even my jacket. I remember panicking when I realized that something had suddenly vanished. How relieved I was when I got it back again.

These days, as an adult, there is a sort of spiritual lost and found I need to visit often. I become caught up in the activities and busyiness of the world. I lose my patience, my compassion, my peace, my hope, and my kindness. At the moment, I do not realize that I have misplaced my trust in God. But as I get ready to move on, I discover what I have lost.

God can replace and restore whatever we have lost. Remember what Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is lite."

Regardless of what you and I have lost today, God can help us find it. He can give us the answer we seek to a difficult decision. He can return the empathy we used to have, and He can even give us back the simple joy of living. Look in His lost and found for whatever you need. Anything at all. You will find it there.

Thank you, dear Denise, for such a beautiful post. It's exactly what I needed to read today. I've been wanting to pour out my heart before God about so many different things, yet something kept holding me back. Thank you for the verses... Be blessed!

This was a good post..reminded me of the verse in Amazing Grace: I once was lost but now I'm found...Also, we used to sing a song at church with southern gospel which had the words of these verses in it.

Amen sis! "His compassion never fails!"

Continuing to keep you in my prayers daily and whenever the Lord brings you to mind. Take care and may His strength be yours always. Blessings and love. I was just thinking of one of the prodigals I dealt with last night for my next post. If that's what He wants for me to post! :)

I too was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see!!!

I love the correlation of your childhood lost and found to our spiritual. This is so clever & cute! I am sorry that you were always loosing stuff.

I'm so blessed by this and the assurance of what Jesus says!
Going to His lost and found each day this week! Thank you for this sweet encouragement! Trusting and believing in this:

"God can replace and restore whatever we have lost."

Great WORDS!!!
