Where we are physically in our lives, does not always reveal where we are spiritually. Our body can be worn down, but our spirit can be strong and robust. On the other hand, we can be empty inside, at the same time we appear happy and whole. What the world sees, is not always who we really are in Christ.
It is easy to get caught up in the ways of everyone around us. We can become more concerned about appearances, than we are about our inner self. We want to have a nice house, an attractive car, new clothes, a good job and plenty of money. In the light of eternity, these things mean little. But many people spend a lifetime trying to achieve these marks of success.
What truly matters, is what no one else can really see: what we do to serve Our Lord and King. People rarely notice everything we do for others, or the time we spend in prayer. Nor does the world see what is in our hearts, and the little things we do each day to glorify God.
We have to strive more toward the invisible, than we do the visible – seek the infinite, rather than the finite. What we see now, will all pass away; what is hidden, will last into eternity. You and I, have to be careful that we do not give away any part of ourselves to the world. Once we learn how to be content with who we are in the Lord, nothing else will seem important. Not even what people say, or think about us.

Good Morning Denise, I love your thoughts; this is where I am at; just the simplicity of Christ is the only thimg that matters! People tend to make life so complicated and miss out on the Eternal things. My Pastor has been stressing the point is that we must get to the point of what really matters and that is our personal relationship with Christ. Hope your day is a Blessed one and don't forget that God Loves You; and so do I!:).
Wise words today, my friend. Have a blessed and joyful day.
What is that song on your list ...'I'm not skilled to understand 'I think then the chorus 'my savior lives, my savior loves?' I need to look it up. I'll go back and read the post again sorry the song is in my head! Have a good day. Oh btw on that book the author just wrote me the sweetest email and she is mailing a formal thank you note along with a give a way copy! I am going to turn off the music and go back and read now!
"Once we learn how to be content with who we are in the Lord, nothing else will seem important. "...amen...so very true!
"Your Father knows what is done in secret, and He will reward you." Matt 6:4
Thanks for those thoughts, sweet friend. Love you ~
Amen, Denise.
Amen sis. Just as you said, we must be careful not to give away any part of ourselves to the world, except the light and the salt which God calls us to be in it. We must go out among non-believers and meet them where they're at and appearances--whether someone looks like they have it all or like they have nothing--should never hinder us. I have met some of the humblest people even among the rich and wealthy. It's a matter of the heart.
Thank you for your wise words. Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day.

Love this post Denise. It blessed my heart today.
And the good news is that we never fool God. And because He loves us, He keeps working in the lives of His children. I am so thankful that He doesn't just throw up His hands in frustration and leave us to our own devices. Praise God for a Savior who is ever interceding for us!!
This post is beautiful. You are one wise lady.
Powerful message, Denise. It is true that we often chase after things that the world thinks it is important. But really what matters is the state of our hearts and how we think of God.
Love & peace,
<>< Iris
Oh! so true Denise,What God knows and sees in and about us is all that matters, and will go with us in and through eternity. God has given you so much insight into what matters most. Bless you dear friend.
I will continue to pray for your eyes, and especially tomorrow when you go to the Dr. I do love you so!.
Hugs,
Sue
Thank you for this wonderful truth. There were times when people prayed for frail little Caleb and then he would "lay hands" on them and seem to pray for them. Even though he was weak, he was strong in the Lord!
Life is so much better now that we have simplified our lives. It does not mean we don't have trials...but it is so much sweeter to not have so much "stuff" bogging us down.
I love you sweet sister and appreciate your much needed prayers for my family and I.
Denise, I think this is one of the very best posts you've ever written. So clear, concise and compelling!
BRAVO!
Denise.. This is very powerful. I spend too much time trying to find my place in this world, when I really should be putting my efforts in Christ. When I don't measure up to anyone, I know I am His Child. You wrote "What the world sees, is not always who we really are in christ."... Thank you for the reminder.
Blessings! You continue to inspire me.
Misty
Amen.. my friend.
I am always inspired when I get a chance to come over here and listen to your heart. I love you much. Hugging you hard.
And all God's people say: AMEN! Love you sister.
