Thankful Thursday

Well, I went to see the eye specialist on Tuesday. My appointment time was 1:10 P.M., I walked out of the office at 4:30 P.M. They did several tests on me, and then I saw the Doctor. His name is Dr. Jody Abrams, I really like him. He was very nice, and treated me with much respect. He is a neuro-opthomologist, the only specialist of this type here in Chattanooga. Usually, I would have to go to Emory, or Vanderbilt, to find a specialist like this. So, I totally praise God for this opportunity. The visit was filled with alot of information about my eyes, not good news. The Doctor said my vision is very, very bad. He also said there is alot more going on than just damage from my diabetes. It seems like I am on my way to a new journey. He said I have vision field defects, optical neuropathy, diabetic retinaopathy, and orbital defects. He is scheduling me for an MRI, and I go back to see him on October 5. He took pictures of my eyes on Tuesday, when I go back, he is going to do scans on my eyes, and alot of blood work. He will then be sending me for a spinal tap. He said I have nerve problems, and possible brain problems. He said it could possibly be MS, tumors, stroke. I need your prayers dear prayer warriors. I am thankful for my Lord, He has, and will continue to carry me. No matter where this journey takes me, I am not alone. I love the Lord, and I am so thankful that He loves me. Blessings and much love to all of you.

Praying for you, as requested. Your truer vision (of God and your place in His kingdom) will get you through even as your deal with these huge challenges with your literal vision and all the related health issues.

I never understand why God lets some great and faithful folks get so ill and face challenges. Then, I realize it is because they are only temporary ones (no matter how not-temporary they seem) and that He also offers grace, strength and support to get through them in as great a measure as each of us accepts. I am soooo glad to read how you accept and pray you continue to.

May His grace continue to flow into and through you. May healing, if it's part of the plan, be with you, and peace regardless!

Oh sweet friend, vision problems do run in the MS family and this is a wise doctor to run a MRI on you to check for lesions. This is the testing I just went through. Do not be afraid, the MRI doesn't hurt. I'll email you about the spinal tap. I keep you in my prayers. I'll be praying for wisdom for this doctor but more than anything a healing touch from our Great Physician!

Thank you, Denise, for keeping us posted in what's happening. You must have been exhausted and overwhelmed by all the possibilities when you came away from that long appointment. I am certainly keeping you in my prayers, daily. God is with you every step of the way, as you know.

Praying for you dear sis. You have perfect vision as far as I see. You see Him more clearly than some who may have great natural eyesight. I will pray that your natural eyesight matches your spiritual one. I will also be praying for all the other conditions that you will be tested for. God is with you. I know you know that. I am blown away by the fact that you share this along with your amazing new upbeat and joyful background and header. I missed that swinging carefree little girl. I think it resembles you much better. Love the kites too. Fly high butterfly, even if you fly right into the storms of this life. He is in the storms too.

I love you sis.

I am praying because I know God will see you through this. I am so thankful He sent a specialist your way. Many blessings my sweet friend. If I could I would come visit you and than together you and I would travel to Shreveport, LA and visit Mollye. Her grief is keeping my focus on the Lord. He is so very good and we need to trust Him. Many blessings sweet loved one. God Bless You and keep a strong hand on that new doctor so he can help you find answers to so any questions with yourm edical history. When I struggled with my neuro problems and all the surgery that followed I tried to stay balanced and think being a lab rat for these research people was really not that bad of a thing. Hugs Anne
