Tuesday Weigh In

Welcome Friends, today is the day. June 1st, 2010 weigh in day number 1. When I went to see my Doctor back on April 12, I weighed in at 158. This morning, I weighed in at 156. So, I am happy to know that in almost two months, I have not gained any weight, and have lost two pounds. Woo Hoo. I look forward to seeing what the scale says next Tuesday. For any of you joining me on this adventure, you go girls. I know we can do this, we can succeed. If you are joining me, there is a linky for you to sign. Please post your current weight on your blog, and anything else you choose to share. Then, come back here every Tuesday, and link up. I am cheering for you all. Devotion: He rained down on them manna to eat, and gave them the grain of heaven. Mortals ate of the bread of angels, He sent them food in abundance. Psalm 78:24-25 Manna was good for only one day, you couldn't stock up on it, because it spoiled. I think God is showing me that I am saving my manna as body fat, which is spoiling my health, my appearance, and my dignity. What I have to do now, is really believe that God wants the best for me. Prayer: God, I need to believe You will take care of my relationship with food. Teach me real trust. Amen. Remember, no food tastes as good, as being healthy feels. Affirmation: I forget those things that are behind me, including all of my personal shortcomings in the area of spiritual disciplines, diet, and exercise. I am pressing toward what lies ahead, a bright future filled with health in my spirit, soul, and body.(Based on Phillipians 3:13)

Oh my goodness you are brave to post your weight! I will have to think about this a bit before I commit. It is a good motivator because the only thing worse than everyone in blog land knowing what you weigh would be every one in blog land knowing that you haven't lost!

I am currently embarking on a lifestyle change as well with my weight for health reasons. I'm not sure what my weight is now, but I know I'm aiming to lose 40 pounds.

Way to go on losing 2 pounds!!

Good for you, Denise. I know you will be a great encourager to those who join you. I have become slack in my efforts after losing quite a bit last year. I want to pay attention so as not to slip all the way back! I'll be following your progress and working along with you.

Denise,

Something clicked in me last night and I automatically wanted something more healthy. So I am off and going today hoping that by next year I can be back where I was when I was 40.

Sweet sister, I hope it's okay for me to stop in here even if I'm not needing to lose weight, because I'm SO happy about you! I know that two pounds is no small thing. I know you can do this because you're being accountable.

Another good way to be accountable, on a daily basis, is journal EVERYthing you put into your mouth, including what you drink, just BEFORE you eat it. Same with eating seconds.

Two more tips:
• For good digestive health, drink a 12-16 oz glass of very warm water (as hot as you can comfortably drink) when you wake up, or whenever you want to encourage your digestive track to keep things moving.
• If you're trying to drink lots of water, and you won't be away from a restroom, drink an 8-12 oz glass of water just before you pee, every time. If you always drink more first, nature has a way of helping you remember. :D

I love you! You're an encouragement to me. I LOVE the picture of stored manna. God is good to show you that.

P.S. I'm back I'll tell you what. Even though I don't need to lose weight, I'd like to lose five pounds still hanging on from Christmas. After six months, I'm willing to be accountable. I'll post my gain or loss every week.
