Tonight, I was very saddened by something I saw on the news. A homeless man saved a woman who was being attacked, and in the process was stabbed. He was lying on the sidewalk, bleeding to death, as several people passed by. Two men stood having a conversation right beside him, and did nothing to help him. Women, and men walked right by him, and never stopped. One man stopped, squatted down beside the man, turned him over, saw the pool of blood he was laying in, and then turned him back over, and left. Needless to say, the man died. What is going on? What is wrong with us people? Have we become so cold hearted, and selfish, that it is that easy to walk away from a dying brother? Wake up people, it is time for you to take your eyes off of yourself, and put them onto others. Quit always looking inward at yourself, and your problems. Try looking outward at the world, and all of the hurting people. Lend a helping hand where it is needed, give of yourself for a change, instead of doing nothing. Be a gift that someone opens up today. Jesus is coming soon, I pray He finds us doing His work, instead of our own selfish desires.

Oh my gosh, that is unbelievable. My heart breaks for this man.
I've seen videos like that, too, Denise...and it blows me away how people refuse to lend a helping hand to someone in need.
I saw it, too and it is sad [though it was not the first]. It reminded me of that video too where one girl was beating up another and there were some security guards in front of them. But no one bothered to stop that! Until the other girl became unconscious. Only one act of kindness can make a difference. But it's sad when no one is willing to do that kind of sacrifice.
I read about this too...it's mind boggling!!
We are broke inside. The sin nature-it is oh so ugly. Only Jesus sweet Jesus can reach in and make a life new...so grateful that one day He will set all things right. That man went straight into His arms likely...and in heaven his reward is so great!
Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,
while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Sending prayers,
andrea
I didn't see this - was it a local story? I didn't watch a lot of TV yesterday believe it or not! LOL I visited my mom after I got Madison from school and when we back home we went to bed early. It is such a sad story...no matter where it happened. It breaks my heart how we (as a socity and as Christians) treat homeless and those less fortunate.
That is just horrible, Denise. People need the love of God. How can some people be so cold and uncaring. God have mercy on our country.
So sad...
What is this world coming to?
"Be a gift that someone opens up today. "...what a beautiful way to word this!
i can't believe that those people who saw this man didn't even help him. really, what's going on? i know God saw him and He knew what this man did. he may not have received a reward here on earth, but he will... big time in Heaven.
I saw the same thing tonight, and was heartbroken. I also thought that this is one of the signs of the end time. You are so right, I really believe that our Lord Jesus is coming soon. Praise His Holy name..
Hugs,
Sue
That's so sad, Denise. I think this is just one more indication that the return of the Lord is near -- people's hearts are hardened. So your verse is really apt.
I watched this too Denise and I was so sad that people would just walk by without helping or calling 911....and the one who took a picture with his cell phone yet didn't help.....I will never understand how anyone could not walk by and not reach out to help.
........:-) Hugs
Selfishness is a trait of the Evil one and at the heart of so much evil in our societies!..The Evil one is preparing his attack, but we must hang on closely to God. Good shall prevail and Jesus will rule on this earth for ever.
