Our Journey

Our journey began on Wednesday, December 23. My dear lovebug was complaining with a headache, and his blood pressure was running high. Then, he said his right leg felt a little numb. I told him we were going to the emergency room just to be safe. As we were sitting in the emergency room, his left leg started going numb. Of course, they started taking blood, and running test on him right away. Eventually, he also lost feeling in his left arm, and from the waist down. They were sure he had a stroke. On Christmas Eve, I almost lost my lovebug. I watched, as he fell back on the bed into my arms, and began to have seizures. The room become filled with nurses, and the trauma unit. They made me leave the room, and sent me into a waiting area. I was crying, praying, and falling apart. Finally, they came and told me they were taking him to ICU. I was totally out of it, they had to take me downstairs to the emergency room, I was almost going into diabetic acidosis. All I wanted was to be with my lovebug, it was a nightmare. Praise God for bringing us through that night. When they let me out of the emergency room, and I was able to go into the ICU to see my lovebug, words cannot express how I felt to see him laying there like that. He is my life, and it hurt so much. Praise God for bringing him out of ICU, and into a regular room on Christmas Day. I was blessed with the greatest Christmas gift ever, my lovebug's life. Of course, our journey did not stop there. It is very much an on going journey. We came home from the hospital on New Year's Eve, quite different from the day we left. Lovebug has no feeling from the waist down, or the left arm. He has to use a walker, and has to have my help getting around. Our life has been changed, but our love has been made only stronger. God is still in charge of everything, and I continue to give Him all the praise. He has carried me, and continues to. I will never be able to thank all of you enough for all the beautiful comments, love, friendship, and precious prayers for me and my lovebug. Please keep praying for lovebug, he starts physical therapy next week. God and lovebug are my two hero's. I love you all so much, sweet blessings to everyone.

I'm so glad that your Lovebug made it through and that God's timing was for him to stay here with you. Denise, I'm praying for God to do a great work in Eddie's life; for Him to restore full feeling and movement everywhere in your Lovebug's body. I know that through God, all things are possible, and so I will lay this at His feet. So many are praying for you both... {{{hugs}}}

Denise, I have to a large extent been where you are now. My Richie was 47 when he was disabled; we had 5 kids at home and our world as we knew it changed in an instant. That was 15 years ago.

I didn't know anybody, at that time, who had been through what we were going through. PLEASE if you need to talk or email or whatever. PLEASE let me help you walk through this.

Your faith is tremendous and it will see you through -- we didn't start on that bedrock of faith though we do have it now -- but friends who have "been there, done that" can be an invaluable resource. Use me. Practical help, support, whatever you need. Please.

I love you so much. My email is shelby.dellarosa@gmail.com

We have been praying for you both since we heard the news and are so thankful to Donetta and Marsha for giving us updates. I know this has been a difficult time for both of you, but somehow its so much more emotional for the one watching. I have watched my husband at death's door on two occasions with heart surgeries and I know those feelings...and GOD is the only answer to help us thru them and I KNOW HE WAS THERE for you. We will continue praying for you on this new journey you have to face TOGETHER and with GOD..."a three strand cord is not easily broken"......Stay blessed....with much love, Barbara

Blessings sweet Denise and Lovebug,
Continuing to pray! You have been so missed and it's so great to see words from you! You are constantly in my prayers and think & stop in here often just to see God's answer & miracles! Now you take care of yourself because He & Lovebug need you! I'm sure that's a huge challenge for both of you! Physical therapy will help him so he is not so dependent on you. So glad it was not a stroke but the other does not sound much better. Waiting for more PRAISE reports & the glory of God shining on both of you! Please take it easy. Keep praying and believing and seeing things as they should be not as they are in the nightmare part. Give this all to God. Love you so much & sending a shortybear hug and dance for you being home.

Oh my sweet friend! Sometimes there are just no answers to the "whys" of God's ways, but sometimes, they are just, God's ways. I dont get it - you dont deserve it, neither does Eddie. Your faith is such an example to me of how to trust in the Lord with all your heart and not leaning to your own understanding. Im not sure I would have reacted in such faith and belief - you are a spiritual inspiration to me and I love you and pappa Eddie so dearly...SO sorry for all you are going through - I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH! So does Brian!

WE LOVE YOU AND WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!!!!
