Thankful Thursday

Hello everyone, praying you are all doing well. God is so awesome, give Him a great big round of applause right now, where ever you are. Woo Hoo, go God. Things here in my little corner of the world are going great, sitting here sipping on a huge mug of hot chocolate, yummy in my tummy. Excited about what the future holds, and knowing Who holds my future. That really makes my heart smile. Today, I am going to my local pregnancy crisis center to talk to them about becoming a peer counselor. I covet your prayers concerning this, I feel led to share my story concerning the fact that I was an attempted abortion. Anything I can do to save the precious unborn babies, I want to do. Also want to share some news with you dealing with our financial situation, as most of you know, things here have been very tight financially. Lovebug was suppose to be off for two weeks after this week. Well, he came home yesterday, and told me that they are asking for volunteers for a few of those days. Also, he will be able to use some of his vacation days of 2010, to cover the days he was not going to get paid for. So, he will not miss one day, he will receive full checks for those two weeks. Praise God!! On Christmas Eve, we will be going to my dad's church for the Lord's supper, and to see my dad and his fiancee get baptized. How wonderful is that??? Concerning our church situation, after alot of praying, deep soul searching, and heart searching, we have decided to go back to our church this coming Sunday. Church is not about the people, it is about serving, and praising the Lord. I have been out of church for six months due to being sick, there has not been anyone that has called, or came by to check on us. But, that is ok, God has never left me, always here watching over me. That is what matters to me. Maybe, I can somehow influence them to change their ways, to reach out to those who are not able to be physically at church. A helping hands ministry, perhaps??? We shall see where God leads me. Take care everyone, love you all so much.

I don't know what happened but I was posting a comment earlier and something got messed up. I was just saying that it's amazing that when you start looking at things the way the Lord would see them, your perspectives change. I'm talking about you going back to your church. Maybe that's where He wants you to be. If there's even one who can make a difference for His glory, so let it be you!!! I'm glad that your attitude about it glorifies Him alone! Amen! God bless you and you have a great list, starting with that hot mug of chocolate :) Enjoy your day! God bless you and praying for the Lord to guide you in everything you do. Take care.

What wonderful news about your dad and his fiancee getting baptized! So awesome! I can't imagine your church family not calling or stopping by to see how you've been and if they can be of any assistance...I'm so sorry, Denise.

A peer counselor sounds like a wonderful ministry...you are an inspiration to so many others, this could only sow so many more seeds and change lives....

Praise the Lord for His blessings on the finances and the Christmas Eve service with your dad and fiancee...

My mom and dad are unable to go to church very often because of their health...a shut-in ministry is something every church should consider having...I know it makes a big difference in my parent's lives when they know they are remembered by their church family...most people don't think about this type situation unless someone shares with them a burden from the Lord about this particular ministry...I didn't until it touched me personally...

Go girl! Your attitude is awesomely Christ-like! Praying with you about the peer counselor thing. Praising with you the great God who has blessed you: finances, baptism of loved ones...Oh, Denise, God is blessing and He's doing a mighty work in and through you--I do applaud Him--for everything--Thank you, Lord!

To me, you don't need the structure of a building to worship. You know where your path leads between you and the Maker. So, trust in your beliefs and don't fret over those in the church not checking on you. Y'know what I mean?

Denise,

Praise God that your father and his fiancee are getting baptized. That is GREAT news. I'm also glad you are going back to church. I know how people can hurt you and do not attend my old church for exactly that reason. I do like your attitude about church being a place to worship God and not being about the people.

We have a Shut-In ministry in the church, but never did anyone call to see why I wasn't attending.

Merry Christmas to you and Eddie, my friend and thanks so much for your support with the diabetes.

Blessings,
Mary

Such a beautiful spirit you have sweet friend....... I will come by and see you every day for sure... Sitting in church does not make a Christian any more than standing an elephant in a garage does not make him a car......... You are filled with the beautiful spirit of the Father God and you spread HIS love to many!!!!
Merry Christmas girl..

Dear Denise,
These are great news indeed! Praise God!
You are such a warm, giving person, and your heart is so full with God, I am sure He definitively wants you out there kindling the fire in so many dormant souls!
Your ministry idea is great, and I pray for your work at your local pregnancy center. We had a discussion on abortion with the girls just this week. In fact it was an ongoing discussion because a girl from school got pregnant and decided to keep the baby. She got married in church last Sunday. So we talked about women's obligation to take care of their bodies in a positive way, the falsehood of women's "rights" on their bodies in the sense of killing their own offspring.
Greece has been, and in some ways still is, a rather conservative country, but things are changing very rapidly. Leftist mentalities prevail. Women are encouraged to have careers and free relationships and have families after thirty. I had my first daughter at 25 and I am by far one of the youngest mothers in school. Mind you, I was encouraged to have an abortion because I was "too young" at 25 and my husband "too young" at 32!Adn everyone questioned why we had our second daughter two years later, since only my husband was working!

Why should a girl waste her prime in temporary relationships that stain her heart and soul, but by the Evil-one's doings?

I was so glad that this girl from school got maried at 17 and will have her baby, God willing , at 18! If the two families and her husband support her, she will grow into a much more grateful human being than if she had gone on and thrown her baby away. It is such a pity, let alone sin!!!

So, my dearest friend, God help you in helping so many women out there who need your eyeview so much!

Denise, you sounded so much more up in this post to me. I think this is one of your best posts. I am so thankful your prayers were answered about your husband's job situation moneywise. Although my husband hasn't worked that long, he is taking the week of Christmas off so we can go to his folk's. I hope we can make it with a half a check. Your new job sounds awesome as does the baptisms! You have had a lot going on in your life too. Almost a busy bee like us! LOL Merry Christmas!

Denise, sorry to just now see this.

How wonderfully the Lord is using you, and giving you opportunities for ministry! I'm so proud of you for going back to church. It can be so hard to shine light where it should already be bright. Let the Spirit in you fan their flames.

I love you!
