Growing Up Mondays

Apply the teaching and ministry to your life — There's not much that a pastor loves more than to see his flock practicing what he has preached, living a Godly, holy life, and on their knees seeking the Lord. Learn to appreciate the spiritual values they try to instill in you and the congregation. "Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern" (Phil. 3:17).

It helps your Church when you live, and conduct yourself in a Christ-like manner. Whether you realize it or not,, you're a walking billboard for your Church. Whatever the people of your community see in your life, they will tend to identify with your pastor, and his flock. Behave yourself, and speak well of the Church, and your pastor. Eyes and ears, are always open to the things you say and do.

Amen sweet friend, Amen!

It is an honor and a privilege to battle with you in prayer today. May the Lord simply hold your family close with His healing hand.

And may you be drenched in His unfailing love,
Sarah Dawn

It won't be long for the retreat now. You must really be anticipating it, yes?

Thanks for sharing dear sister.

I ask the Holy Spirit often to help me to remember that I'm a representation of CHRIST in all that I say and do before my family, friends, those in ministry, those I'm ministering to and strangers in my day to day life.

If my attitude, actions or words are not right then I misrepresent HIM and His teachings to the Body of Christ (the church).

A heavy load to sometimes bare? Yes but a worthy one if we could just be more like JESUS. Help us Lord!

Blessings and peace to you this day.

Thanks for this. I've learned that you never know who is watching you. One time standing in line at a store, a lady tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Don't you go to my church?" I said, "Yes." I was grateful that I was patiently waiting for the incredibly slow clerk!

Yes people do watch us. I have learned that over the years. They KNOW that you go to a certain church and well they see if you live up to what you believe...I have learned just be yourself in the LORD and all is fine.

Thanks for that reminder, my friend!! We know that we represent Christ but especially nonbelievers will more easily grasp that we represent our respective churches.

Great post!

Denise, your words testify to a life of practicing what you preach. I'm sure you have words you'd take back and actions you'd do over, like everyone. But your practice IS your preaching.

I love you! Thank you for all your blessings to me.

I think about your topic today so much. May my life reflect our King.

I love your term "walking billboard", too...brings to mind that old saying about Christians being the only Bible some people ever read....

It's true: church isn't just for Sunday mornings. We get our cups filled on Sunday's, but each day is a day from God.
