Here is the writing prompt for August:
Sometimes your medicine bottle has on it, "shake well before using." That is what God has to do with some of His people. He has to shake them well before they are ever usable.--Vance Havner : Amen to this. I feel I was one of those people. I did not think I was usable of God, but He proofed me wrong. He picked me up, shook me up, and stood me up upon the promises of His love and power. He opened my eyes to the truth, and the truth was, just like that medicine in that bottle would expire if not used, I was going to expire, if I did not open my life up totally to God. I needed to open up, and share my life with others. By letting God work through me, I could be used to encourage others, and help them possibly. God was, and is, the best medicine for me.

I admit, I had to giggle over the "shake well before using" analogy. I got a picture of it in my mind and I found it funny. A very serious point though. I'm glad you wrote it. :)
That was wonderful. Denise!
Great though-provoking post. I just reposted it on Facebook.
LOVE it! That is great!
Yes, He is!!
So true. The shaking never feels good!
Hello... I came across your blog through the cafe! This is my first time sharing my thoughts for "drops of inspiration". I like your blog and this was a great post! ♥x♥x
WOW! I love that... I really do. It just goes so deep; there are things in our lives that don't make sense, that seem bitter or out of place. But, when shaken and mixed in with the rest, it all comes together and works for good. Oh, what a great analogy, Denise! And I can truly say that your blog is good medicine for ME! I love you, you brilliant writer...
wow.. I love that analogy...
I have really missed being in the blogging world.. I hope to come back soon....
how are you these days??
blessings and love my friend
Connie
This is a neat way of looking at "The Shaking!" Thanks for the perspective. Maybe now I'll hurt less!
May the Lord be gentle as He shakes me up! This is a great analogy. Have a great weekend sister Denise! God bless. Love you in Christ.
You are beyond precious, too...Denise
Thanks!
I love this "shake well"...and some of us take more shaking!
You are the best medicine for us! Continue letting God use you...you are doing well. No more expiration
dates...only lifetime truth & use!
Inspirational & thought provoking!
Filled up with lots of love. Sending mine & a great big hug!
You've given us much to think about in this post, Denise. Good stuff!
What a wonderful picture Denise! Thanks!
So good Denise, thank you!
I have been through many times of shaking, they always seem to pre-lude something that God is about to do in my heart and life.
I try to remember that whenever the shaking starts! :)
Much love,
Sue
This is a great post, Denise. You'll probably never have any idea how many women you've ministered to with your forthrightness and your faith but I can tell you that I am one of them. Thank you.
I love it.Perfect illustration of our life. Thanks so much for sharing.
And in our weakness He is strong. So glad I "know" you.
I like how you added the expiration note in there.
