Today, is my first time to participate in this meme. I would like to share a memory from the summer of 1975. I was 11 years old, and madly in love with Donny Osmond!! He made my heart beat purple juice, lol purple was his favorite color, and of course mine too. He loved wearing purple socks, so of course my sock drawer was filled to overflowing with purple socks. My favorite color is still purple!! I had all of his records, his posters were plastered all over my bedroom walls, I would watch him every time he was on television. I knew all of his songs by heart, and sang them over and over again. Well, we had just moved to Chattanooga Tennessee from Huntsville Alabama, my friend from Alabama called to tell me that the Osmond's were going to be coming to Huntsville for a concert. She was going to the concert!! I got off of the phone, totally heartbroken. My momma asked what was wrong, of course I told her the entire story. She said, I am sorry sweetie. I thought that was the end of it, but a few weeks later to my surprise, she brings me an envelope. I open it, and inside were two tickets to the Osmond concert in Alabama. I started screaming, and crying. I could not believe it, I was beyond happy. She said my sister and I were going to the concert together. So, the concert was on a Friday night, my sister and I got in her mustang, and away we went to Alabama. From the moment the Osmond's came out on stage, until the last song was sang, I danced, screamed, and sang my heart out. As my sister and I were walking across the parking lot to get in our car to go home, I spotted their tour bus. Donny was sitting in the back of the bus, I started running after the bus, screaming: I love you Donny!! He held up a glass of milk, and waved at me. My heart turned somersaults. Woo Hoo, what a sweet memory. Thank you dear angel momma for making a dream come true, and thank you sis for being my traveling companion on such a great memory making adventure. Don't forget to link to Lynette's blog to read more participating posts.

It is funny to look back to those crashed we had when we were little.
It is so swee tthat your mom surprised you with the tickets.
What a funny memory :) I used to be "in love" with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I just knew we'd be perfect for each other and that we should be married, LOL. JTT was "it" for me. On another funny note...my dad used to tell us that people thought he looked like Donny when he was growing up...I know it must be true now because someone (who didn't know me very well or my dad) thought I looked like a young Marie Osmond. It was very funny :)
Very interesting.
what a great memory.
What a great meme, I will have to check this out. I also loved Donny Osmond and purple, I saw the Osmond brothers in concert at age 11 at Mud Island, Memphis, it was wonderful, thanks for reminding me of some great memories and sharing yours !
I used to really like Donny Osmond too. I still think he is neat! Marie too. I used to love their show.
I love purple too. it is a happy color. I don't wear it much, and I don't have much of it around me,...but I like it.
Glad you joined in today. Hope you will have fun reading all of the posts.

I love that your mom realized how happy this would make you, and got you the tickets. Sounds like your mom is pretty amazing for allowing you to create such a wonderful memory.
I am totally dying over this post and the pictures. I TOO was in love with Donny Osmond. We had mormons who lived behind us and I spent hours learning about their faith because I knew I would have to be Mormon to marry him. I saw him in concert at the Ohio State Fair! Did you watch the Donny and Marie show too? I loved that show as well...Thanks for making me smile today.
This is so cute to imagine. I can just picture you having a blast, singing and dancing and feeling the love!
:)
From one Donny fan to another - thanks for sharing your memory!
What a FUN story! Your mom was a gem, indeed. I remember the Donny and Marie show. Good times. Remember the good-bye song? And Carol Burnett's song, too? :)
Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed the Donny and Marie show but was truly more a Donny fan.
Blessings...
Oh that just makes me wish I could get Dove into a Jonas Brothers concert. She is head over heals with them.

I was about to post a comment when I noticed what you wrote before we do so:God loves you so very much, never doubt that." Though I know that no one could ever compare with our Lord, that's what your mom did...bought you the tickets because she loved you so very much... That was a great memory to always look back to. Especially to reminisce a loving mother's heart.
What a sweet mama you had! Wow.
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time & wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing. :)
Too Funny!! Donny Osmond, my goodness.

It was great to have you join us today Denise. Okay, I'll admit it, I read this out loud to my husband and oldest son. You had us laughing!
I was a Donny and Marie fan. So, you'll remember this song...
May tomorrow be a perfect day. May you find love and laughter along the way. May God keep you... in his tender care, til he brings us together again. GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!
I loved that song at the end of the show! ha! Or how about -
I'm a little bit country. I'm a little bit rock n roll!
Okay, I'll quit now. Truth is I wasn't a Donny lover like you. I was an Andy Gibb gal! ha ha ha!
