Marriage Monday- Seasons Of Marriage

Thanks Christine for guest hosting for the next four months, I appreciate you sweetie. Winter:

  1. A period of time characterized by coldness, misery, barrenness, or death. : My marriage has definitely been through seasons of winter. Lovebug and I experienced the barrenness of never being able to become parents, it was painful for both of us. We experienced watching my dear momma, as she passed away, which broke both of our hearts. We have seen me come very near to death more than once, each time a very scary experience. But, what was awesome, was the way we chose to deal with these experiences. We chose to cling tightly to one another, and never let go. Love each other through the pain, grow together, not apart. Spring: A time of growth and renewal. : Lovebug and I were married in the spring, April 6th 1985. There has definitely been much growth, and renewal in our marriage through the years. We were 21 when we got married, now we are 45. We have grown up alot together, and separately. God has blessed us with spiritual growth, and we are very thankful for that. Summer: A period of fruition, fulfillment, happiness, or beauty. : Wow, there has definitely been seasons of summer in our marriage, Lovebug has brought so much happiness into my life. He taught me what true happiness is, and has fulfilled my hearts desires. Praise God for bringing much precious fruit into our marriage. We love You Lord. Fall: A period of maturity.: I think we are experiencing this in our marriage now. We are both mature in our relationship with each other, and with God. We are happy, contented, and more in love than ever. God has truly blessed our marriage through all the seasons, and we are very grateful.

I think one of the greatest testimonies of having a Christian marriage isn't just the length of it but the depth. Your post shows this by the way you talk about how much you love him now, not just then.

That's great how you related the ups and downs of your married life with the 4 seasons. Through it all, you and your husband are closer, deeper in love and more mature not only with being wise, but in the Lord!

God bless.

I am very happy for both of you, Denise. I hope my husband and I will be as strong as yours. We will be celebrating 1 year anniversary this August.
But it is true, as the days goes by, we fell in love with each other more and more.
Praise God!

Therein lies the key, to claim God, His provisions and promises through every season! I often think of how I would be missing out on the blessings we share at this stage of our marriage, had one of us bailed early on!
