In Other Words Tuesday

What would happen if we stopped lamenting about the fifty things we can't control, and focused our attention on the fifty thousand things we can control? What would happen if we stopped whining about things we have the power to change, and finally took charge of our lives and changed them? What would happen if we stopped borrowing sorrow from tomorrow? If we got in the habit of asking ourselves, "What's on my plate today?" ~Karen Scalf LinamenChocolatherapy: Satisfying the Deepest Cravings of Your Inner Chick : Amen, we need to quit sitting around whining, complaining, and sulking. We need to get out of the pity pool, and jump into the deep, invigorating hallelujah end of the pool. Look around you, soak in everything God has done for you, and continues to do. Let go, and totally let God. Give it all away to Him, not bits and pieces. Set yourself free from all the worries of this world, God wants to unshackle you, He holds the key to your every chain that you choose to drag around daily in your life. When the shackles come off, begin to dance. Dance for joy, be care free. Be all you were meant to be for God, your Father.

I so agree. I am tiered of being angry. I want to stop re-traumatizing myself by thinking about the hard stuff. Liven me up to the good and the thinking on these things, this world sure can get distracting sometimes

"He hold the key to every chain we choose", that's a big thing. We are the ones who choose the chains we wrap around ourselves as we worry our lives away. When will we ever learn :)

Precious Denise! You have such a way of getting to the heart of the matter. I love it! I absolutely love it! You are so right. We are such a blessed people and when we shackle ourselves with worry and pity parties it *so* does not honor God. I'm ready to get my praise on this morning now!

Oh AMEN, SISTA!!

I kept hearing (in my head) Mandisa singing that song, "My chains are gone, I'm gonna praise Him, I'm gonna praise Him!"

Denise, your joy in our Lord is such a blessing. Thank you for participating in IOW today.

I use you as an example all the time when my daughters start feeling sorry for themselves. I tell them about my wonderful friend Denise who has been through so much and still has things happening that aren't so great...but she always shines for Jesus! I love you, girl! I can't wait until we meet... it would be nice here on earth, but what a party we will have at Jesus' feet! I'm gonna dance and I know you will too!
