I Remember When......

This meme was started by my sweet friend Jean. This is what she says about this week: Before your husband, or your first boy friend, who was that special man in your life? For those who still have their biological parents living under the same roof, Praise God. What do you remember about him? Post it on your blog. Come back and link it to Mr. Linky. Some of you might have had a stepdad who raised you. What did you call him? What makes him special? How did he show you his love? Post it, return and leave me a comment. I would love to read your "I Remember When..." When I was growing up, unfortunately my dad was not in my life. My step-father sexually abused me, so there were no good memories made by him. But, I have recently been greatly blessed. My Dad now lives here in Tennessee, and he has met a wonderful lady by the name of Lynn. She is such a great influence on him, and a dear blessing. My dad is now going to church, praise God. He wants to be a part of my life, my prayer has been answered. He has even invited me to his church, my heart is jumping for joy. He calls me, and invites me to come see him. Thank You Lord for bringing my dad into my life, I have really missed him, and needed him. I am looking forward to making many precious memories with him.

There was a very special man in my life who I met when I was 28. I adopted him as my "dad". He was "dad" to so many "dad"less. He even married my husband and I with a very special elopement ceremony. Now that I write this, if he can be such a great "dad" as a human then maybe God could be a great DAD. I think I'll open up my heart for God to be my DAD now. Come to think of it, I really could use my DAD about now! :)

Denise, this is an awesome story of God's redeeming grace - both in your father's return to your life and in your ability to welcome him with open arms. God bless you both! (Come by my place when you can - I have something for you).

Girl this is such a blessing.
Many of us can understand not really having a Dad. Some did not live with us and some had Dad who lived in the home but were not there for us.

I pray ya'll form some sweet memories together. I am happy for you.

I meant to comment on this before now! I am SO sorry, hon!

What a tremendous blessing God has bestowed upon both you and your Dad! It's so amazing how HE works! And, I am so happy for you, that you will get to know your Dad! What a terrible thing it would have been if you had not had this and something would have happened to you or to him! It's just such a blessing from God! :)

Love you so much, my friend and praying for you always!
